terrific demo!!! Some reviewers yak for 10 minutes, then race through equipment features with no direction or structure. You were to the point, and demonstrated the pedal in a rational manner! EXCELLENT WORK, my friend, and it is tremendously appreciated. (Thanks from Missouri, USA)
The controls make sense if you understand how the circuit creates the effect. It's based on very short delay times that are modulated. The "regen" is short for regeneration. That controls how much of the original signal is fed back into the circuit. And the Width knob controls how much the circuit modulates the delay time.
I was looking around for a lower priced flager pedal. I looked at a few, including the Mooer, the Donner, the Dano Hash Browns and a few others. This review convinced me to get the Joyo Classic Flanger, and I absolutely love it. Thanks!
Sounds pretty good. One thing I don't get: on a large pedal like this, why on earth do they put the jacks for signal and power on the sides? Is it not taking up enough space on the pedalboard already?
If I am right, the main difference between chorus and flanger is the delay time between the pitch shifted waves. Hence the reason the Delay Time makes it sound, when all the way to the left thus a shorter delay time, like a chorus... and when all the way to the right, to that classic flanger.
I like your presentation style. You cover a lot of ground, really showcasing what the pedal is capable of, yet you keep things succinct and the pace rolling. It really makes me want to buy one of these pedals! By the way, I believe the reason the knob is called "delay time" is because it adjusts the amount of time between the dry signal and the effected "flanged" signal. I think the further apart the time is, the more metallic the sound becomes and the more high end cuts through. The closer the time is between the signals, the warmer and more subtle the effect is. I could be wrong but this is my understanding of how flanging works and would explain the label on the knob.
*regen/feedback adds swooshiness/doppler effect/jet plane sound. *delay/manual changes delay offset/centrepoint which "tunes" the tone so the Swoosh happens at higher or lower frequencies. Most noticeable at low depth high regen. Has no function when depth is maxed out. *width/depth is the amount the delay/wet pitch is varied around centrepoint set by manual. *rate/speed is the speed at which the LFO oscillates varying the delay and therefore the pitch of the wet signal. Hope this helps.
Based on your video, I decided to purchase this pedal. I, as well as a friend, who I consider a pedal aficionado, are both quite pleased and imrpessed with this pedal. It's an incredible value.
Man I was seriously considering buying a bunch off Aliexpress and putting them in a new box with some hipster botique name on it and sell them for 8 times the price lololol
Shane, do a quick research on flanger controls and you'll understand the knobs better. Delay time is also known as manual on some flangers and regen is not exactly a mix control, It's more like feedback. Some sounds work well with regen at minimum.
cs guitars just did a great video with tc electronics explaining how chorus, phaser and flanger work and how they are different....also explains why changing the delay time sounds like a change in frequency
Ury B-side what a trip. I've used nothing but American made pedals and always had a fear of anything Chinese. looking to start using some of these Joyo's. I'm impressed.

Weird world. pedal sounds just as good as the mxr 117r. Same tonality. And sit is cheap. i would change the original knobs for some boss knobs. i like them and erase somehow that design , that jet and the letters below are hideous.
your an idiot! period. and I'm a guy who never ever is the type to flat out talk with latent disrespect for a dumb opinion. for one, a pictured jet says it all about this pedal. the artwork well-done. two, what idiot would take advantage of such a great cost effective quality pedal and modify it with different knobs? you sir are a price of work. I suspect your the type who has a 200 dollar car with 2000 dollar rims on it. I nailed you didn't I?

indeed, it drives me crazy.
Mod it!!
Top jacks dont alwys save space

Now THAT'S how a demo should be...no flash, look how clever I am guitar work just straight presentation of the effect with and without od... nice one!
Joyo Is a great brand of efects pedals.
Before I knew it I became a collectionist
Great and cheap
Thanks brother. Finally a no nonsense review that actually helped me make an educated decision.

Turn the regen all the way down and put the delay most or all the way up and you essentially have a chorus pedal.

I'm really impressed with Joyo products. They sound great.

Sean T that has been done before to a major uproar
I agree
3:26 so you can really use it as a sub for chorus, a very nice sound for a low price
Push down the Regen Knob for a Chorus sound .....
I just ordered one on eBay for $34 new. Can't wait to get it
Reminder whose dollars?
Wow, never used flanger, but I ordered one after watching your video review. Thanks!!!
I have ono , do you see de jet ? sound like this...¡¡¡
How much did you pay 2 years ago? Just ordered one new for $34
@@Xxmeca421xX how much did you pay 3 year ago? just ordered one new for 35@
I have the exact pedal and I use it for BASS, it is soo cool. what I use it for the most are tapping and harmonics...
Does it cut a bit of low end from your signal
Hi. Whats the settings for use for tapping and harmonics ? Thanks
sounds just like the BF-2 I had in the 80s
this pedal is awesome I own it and its a class bit of kit
You can get that evh and zw sound. Something i been looking for
no much noise?

Frequency = 1/t
Any volume drop?
Nice vid - you've sold me on this.
It is true that this pedal boost the volume?
Great review. Thanks for posting.
Whatare the power requirements?
Hi. What Overdrive pedal are you using with the Flanger? Thanks
It was some Rowin distortion I think. It flashed on screen while I was using it.
That was like the most bullshit free constructive review I've ever seen ,, just bought the pedal as you answered my ?s in 7 mins
is the overdrive pedal? great stuff as usual. thx
he adds an overdrive pedal about halfway through
I'd think about getting it just to see a Harrier on my board 😃
Sounds similar to my old DOD but without the noise and massive tone suck
Hi shane ...do you have an opinion on Strauss pedals ?..cheers.
Is The same circuit flanger biyang... A boss Copy pedal
i LOVE ur reviews mate kudos!
don't see u've reviewed ironman raptor flanger .. please do one and how it compares to it's "big brother" here
best reviews on youtube. thx :)
Man I have a question. Is it noisy? Does it change the tone? Thanks and great video
It's not noisy at all mate. This pedal was dead quiet. I didn't hear any tone changes on my rig. Hope that helps. :-)
Is there a volume drop while it's activated in the loop, like with the MXR flanger?
Whats the name of the overdrive pedal?
Which is best? This or the dalphon flabger?
If J Dilla owned one of these I'm definitely coppin' one.
Who is J dilla?
Sounds pretty
Hi - saw you review the Donner Jet flanger too (i think)- which is better ? this or the Donner? thanks
+Michael Dalby In terms of tone it's subjective to your ear mate. In terms of build quality I would take the Joyo.
+intheblues thanks
This or mooer flanger?
Thanks dude still no idea how to use it I was somehow managing to get a frequency that was equivalent of a airplane taking off
hi! can i use this one on my bass?
im pretty sure all guitar pedals work on bass as long as it can plug in
Yes
Is this pedal good for eddie van halen style, more specifically, Aint talkin about love? If so can anyone tell me the settings . Thank you
GenoArky he used phaser for his iconic tone so look there they are similar tho
Catching a lot of 80s sounds there.
Flanger is like the official effect of the 80s
i can see the camera stand on your guitar wow
Nice Review Sir..
you really have to crank the regen on this otherwise it sounds like a chorus or phaser
Has this pedal held up? Seems like it wouldn't since it's so cheap.
i paid 29.18 on eBay new
i just paid 20 canadian! so pumped
@@CANYONCARVERS dam isn't that like 11$ in the states? nice
Eh I just payed $35, they're going up
Man some of these Aliexpress pdeals are way too good. Those Rowins are Mooers im almost certain so they are cheaper again
"Delay Time" literally controls the delay time lol ("I don't know where they get these names from")
Muito top esse pedal vou comprar um
It's so cheap I feel like it would break or something is it worth buying ?
+Oliver Hecker their worth buying.
+Oliver Hecker I've got mine for years now. Still on my pedalboard...
Ury B-side how many years?
Puertecitos68 4-5 years at least, gigging every month and playing in the studio almost every day.

That sound is the dogs bollocks
Brecconable, I don't know if that's suppost to be a good or bad thing
Neither do I but I assume it's an expression from across the pond from Canada and I guess he likes it😂

my pedal joyo classic flanger is not getting powered up without an input jack... can someone help?
Pune Diaries You need to power it with a 9 volt battery
The input jack socket is often part of the switching, so you need a jack connected to turn it on.
Sounds sweet
