  • Nightmist is literally one of the most important characters in Sentinels Lore, as without her all the multiverse wouldn't be able to get together to take down Oblivaeon. Her updated deck and playstyle actually now makes her fun to play. Old nightmist took so long to ramp up, and took so much damage doing so that she just didn't feel good. This upgrade gets on the board faster and feels good while it happens.

After half a dozen games with nightmist in definitive edition, she is an absolute powerhouse. She can fill nearly any role on the team that you need her to. Deck manipulation, pure damage, she can adapt to any scenario quite well. Very impressed with her.

In EE she could solo most villains. She has been reduced in overall utility, but she is pretty solid regardless.

Thankyou for keeping the music low. It's good background that's not overwhelming or interfering

6:15 On the topic of Oblivion being "more controlled" in some ways its less. Before you got to see both cards and pick which happened to both, so if you pulled a 4 and a 1, you would only hit your allies for 1. This time, if you pull a 1 then a 4, you have no choice but to hit your allies for the 4 damage.

Ah good point, the control of to hit allies or enemies now exists, but less control on which number does which effect.
Then that new ongoing "Master of Magic" lets you discard a card immediately after seeing the current discard, so then even more control of the numbers. Gets very interesting

Mentor Nightmist is the perfect insurance for Alpha having too many aspects out

Also, the standard Nightmist's knocked out ability of discarding a deck card and dealing damage equal to HP if a target...Apex has some VERY high HP targets in his deck. A knocked out Nightmist could take him out in 2-3 rounds

I prefer base Nightmist for the control of what you discard, as the top of your trash is important for your cards.
Also the Draw 2 or play of a Spell card is exceptionally good, for either filling back up your hand for your next turn, or performing a combo.
Unfortunately, Nightmist isn't as powerful as her EE version, where she could solo most Villains. But she is still pretty strong.

It's amazing they nerfed so many of her best cards: mistbound, mist form, amulet of elder gods, etc. and she still seems in line with other DE characters (many of whom are vastly above their EE equivalents). It really highlights how insane she was in EE.

Please do a review on the alternative versions of the core characters.
I especially like Fanatics ability to be revived by players
