Thanks for the tip on just putting screws on the white bracket. Though honestly its just these kenwoods you got, they suck. I got them for the rear of my wifes car and they were indeed bad. Kickers or jbls would be much better
You need an amp to push the power needed to make those speakers work correctly. The reason the weaker speakers sound better is because they're much lower powered, rated for the the headunit's output. I'm putting in 6.5's on my 2010 LX and I know full well its going to be the amp, speaker wire, tweeters in the dash holes, baffles, insulation behind the speaker, etc for it to really be a worth while upgrade. The odysseys behind dash area is actually VERY generous as I learned from having to fix my AC mode control motor the other day so it should be an easier install.
Thanks for the input. Yeah you're probably very correct. In most my cars, I'll typically replace the head unit, which pushes more to the speakers by default, and has amp outputs (and remote wire). Leaving this factory stereo installed has proven quite a few downsides that remind me why they suck. This van now has 200k miles so not sure how much life it has left.
Is this "AC mode control motor" the one that controls how much hot/cold to blend? I've got two odysseys, and both those blend motors got twitchy so changed them out with junk yard ones, and both those went out too. New are over $100, so I just do the trick to put them all the way to extreme temps to encourage them to listen to me.
@@JupitersFun I ran full wiring on my 380k mile awd previa, it's always worth it lol. The mode control motor is what changes the air flow from floor, front vents, or to defogger. They're very similar denso servo motors that are somewhat serviceable. At least mine was. 3 screws and a plug. I opened it up and cleaned/relubed the gears, contact sensor, as well as the external arm and pin. Worked perfectly after. Just be careful with the locking tabs on the motor housing.
I have a 2007 I want to just do the driver side and passenger side I also want to get a sub. All my speakers already are basically blown would that be a problem if I got new ones? Also is there any way you could give me a little insight on what I’ll have to do? Very helpful video too!
The video is for driver and passenger, so not sure what more info you want. If your speakers are blown then of course replace them. Adding a sub is difficult if you're not replacing the head unit. If not, you have to tap into the signal going to a rear speaker to feed to your amp. I didn't do it so consult elsewhere. Good luck

Did you install on the 3rd row seat?? I need to know how to do it.. very helpful your video.. thank you
Didn't add any more speakers. 3rd row seems difficult, and maybe not worth it. And I'm always the driver so don't hear them anyways. Good luck.

Not the tweeters in the dash. You'd probably have to take the dash apart.

Correct. IMO the sound was better and more rounded from the paper factory speakers, than the fancy 2 ways.
