@@unionjackjackson4352 For just this season off the top of my head: If Hamilton received the appropriate stop-and-go penalty for wrecking Max at Silverstone, he would have placed 2nd or 3rd. Abu Dhabi wouldn't have even happened if Hamilton was punished for Silverstone. Mercedes kept losing seconds on pitstops so they pushed for regulations. They got it. Mercedes kept losing seconds to RB's rear wing flexing so they pushed for regulations. They got it while able to keep their flexible front wing parts legal. If you want to talk about the last 7 years of domination: In 2014-2016 Mercedes pushed for engine tokens to limit engine development because their V6 was in development before the hybrid-era was announced and they have a massive head start on everyone. They got it. 2017 Ferrari figured out how to match Mercedes' engine output by using the same oil burning tricks they'd used since 2014. Merc pushed for regulation and got it. 2018 They got to keep Tyres they were dominant on. 2019: They got to keep DAS because the rules didn't explicitly ban it despite it not being in line with the spirit of the law. 2020: Floor changes impacted RB's high rake cars more than low rake despite Hamilton's whinging otherwise.
@@thejusmar wrong about silverstone, wrong about Abu Dhabi, hell wrong about all of it tbh! Red bull got rules changed for 2021 in order to slow Mercedes down as they knew they wouldn’t be able to compete otherwise, this move was supported by the American owners of F1 as it fit in to their agenda of equalising the cars. (Which goes against everything F1 is actually about), max caused more incidents than Lewis throughout the season and a couple of times the incidents could have been deadly if max was up against a different driver. @@theirondukew.8522 All reasonable people know Hamilton put Max off on purpose at Silverstone. Lewis had so much room to take that corner in second place. Max was on the racing line. Lewis is a great driver, so you can't tell us it was an accident. Then Bottas in Hungary? Totally on purpose. He went bowling for Red Bulls and got a strike. And don't forget how this all happened after Toto said that Max is just a DNF away from Lewis being back in contention for the title. Oh, and please explain why Mercedes looked just like Ferrari in 2019 at the end of the season. Ferrari got caught cheating, had to stop gaming the fuel flow sensor, and then slowed WAY down once FIA investigated. How do you explain Mercedes overnight pace gains in the latter half of this season? If it looks like cheating, it's probably cheating. Mercedes cheated on emissions testing with MILLIONS of production cars, and they got caught. You don't think they have what it takes to cheat on a single F1 car?
@@theirondukew.8522 yeah there was no stop and go. There was a 10 sec TIME penalty, where they couldnt work on the car. So, no, he will probably not remember something that was not there.
@@mrfrank2097 In this case? Yes, Lewis definitely caused the Silverstone accident on purpose. And in Hungary Bottas caused that accident - which conveniently took out BOTH Red Bulls at once - on purpose. And yes. Mercedes cheated on MILLIONS of production cars and got caught. Hamilton and especially Toto Wolff were more scared of Verstappen then vice versa. I mean, they had so much more to lose then Verstappen, that they took the bullying even outside the tracks and into (social) media. The way they tried to get this Championship is totally unsportsmanlike and a shame to F1!!!
Red bull would have done the same thing if they lost a championship like that. I doubt they would have withdrawn the appeal as well. I’m a Ferrari fan but you Max and Hamilton fans are weird.
The race turned to Max at lap 54. Redbull pitted, Mercedes didn’t and played too safe by assuming that the race would end with the safety car. If Race control would have ordered the lapped cars to unlap themselves at lap 56 (since Latifis’ car was off track at lap 55) there would be no drama and Max was probably still world champion since Hamilton was caught with his pants down with no tires to fight back. I repeat: lap 54, Lewis had no tires to fight back. That was the end of his chances to win the Championship, period. At lap 54 Mercedes had no idea the race would end with a safety car and decided wrongly on strategy. Race control only delayed the inevitable and by trying to correct their mistake with the lapped card issue only gave Mercedes a foothold to vent their utter shock of losing the championship because of their bad strategy. That my friends is the real story that no one talks about.
[I repeat: lap 54, Lewis had no tires to fight back.] He would have had 20 lap old hards had he made use of the free pit stop mostly under VSC at lap 37 after Max had already pitted. That is where they threw it away by not recognizing the only two risks they had to lose the title, a puncture with 43 lap old tires with a 38-40 lap projected life span under full speed and full wear racing or being on 43 lap olds after a late safety car. It was lap 37. Lap 54 had Lewis pitted Max would have seen him pit and stayed out himself, that would not have worked for Lewis. You can't decide first when you are the leader as the driver behind you will do the opposite. What you can do is stay out hope the driver behind you pits and the (V)SC is still out next lap, then you can copy it. And that is what should have been done in lap 37.
No one is talking about it because that's not quite how it went down The race turned to Max when Masi remixed the rules. Not here for the Sunday morning quarterbacking....You cats kill me with your "hot takes" acting like you have access to the information or strategy that the teams have. If the proper safety car protocol was followed and Masi would have been decisive from the beginning, we wouldn't still be having this conversation. Because if Max would have won under those circumstances, I don't think F1 fans, Mercedes or Hamilton would have had an issue with that. But that's not what happened, and as a result Verstappen won the race and title. His maiden championship is a joke, but you have to chalk that up to the Masi files. Although I find it interesting that he's actually acting like he won the championship on merit. And miss me with the Max deserved to win because of the season he had....Hamilton was tied with him going into the final race, so they both deserved to win the championship. The only difference is Hamilton earned that race win, Max was gifted that race win.....and that makes this whole championship a joke. You can support who you want, but stop trying to justify this ridiculous decision by Michael Masi just because the driver you like won. If you like competition & F1 the sport, this should not sit well with you.
@@sean6425 Sean has it right. I’m happy Max won the race but if you’re looking for consistency from the FIA, this wasn’t it. While there were a lot of factors at play, the referees (the FIA) played into the competition so it was an unfair loss for Hamilton. The part some people forget is that this is also an entertainment business. I can say for certain, I was entertained..
When I saw that race the only person I blamed before masi was mercedes, ut we also cant forget checo did ruin Hamiltons first pit window attempt under the VSC by costing him 8 sec. Mercedes shouldve been smarter still cause there are 2 theory that wouldve played perfectly. Hamiltons pits under VSC with max staying out on old 24 lap old hards an lewis wouldve exit behind max but give it 5 or 6 laps an lewis wouldve easily caught up to max cause that mercedes was a weapon on that track. Or theory 2 is both lewis an max would pit under VSC cause redbull wouldnt be that stupid to leave max out knowing how quick merc were. But we also cant forget bono was right about lewis that max had to lap 8 tenths quicker a lap to catch lewis an max was not lapping arround that range. The only time max really took a chunk out was cause lewis had to snake his way through a cloud of lapped cars. An before the crash max did not go through that traffic. An lewis was still 11 sec ahead at the finish 8 laps meaning without that crash max wouldve lost 8 or 9 tenths to lewis an wouldve finish behind lewis in P2 by just 3 sec. An lewis couldnt pit under saftey car cause he was still out of range of his window by 3 sec. They wouldve handed the win to max. If masi allowed hamilton an max to race with the lapped cars in between lewis an max then lewis wouldve still won 100%. I later realised that yes mercedes played a dumb move but risky an they were misfortune that Nicolas crashtifi was gonna crash causing this mess. We already know who will not be getting the drive to mercedes for his future an will be recieving a life time supply for redbull from Christian horner. It was a shame masi had to change things in a way to have max get the upper hand over lewis. All that max needs to be thankful for is his teammate checo an masi
Lewis Hamilton rants on about inclusivity yet alienates himself from all around him; snubs prize giving; snubs drivers; and even snubbed the Secret Santa this year. Classy
Because he's there to race and win, not make friends. As for the "snubbing" I don't entirely agree with the absence of him and Toto at the award ceremony but I don't judge considering what he went through and how Michael Masi fixed the race. Yes, I said he fixed it because he did. Lewis feels cheated for the 1st time in his career, rightfully so (let's not get into Masi's judgement) and the way he behaved towards Max and Jos was class and well above how most people would've reacted immediately after a race where you felt robbed. Lewis is a class above as a driver, a person, and deserves to be left alone to process everything and definitely does not owe you an answer. (Before you attack me, I wanted Max to win but not at the mercy of the FIA).
What’s classy about having to validate his self worth to someone like you? This has been Kimi Raikkonen’s mantra all his life to alienate people yet we love him
That fact lewis couldn't look at him, makes me think he was genuinely scared of him or ashamed that he knew his car was 2x faster than any other on the grid, I can't tell which one...
He was definitely scared of Verstappen. Even Bono was let known beforehand and he called Verstappen "P2" on Radio and everyone else by the name. Letting Lewis know that Verstappen is P2 is important info but I think Lewis knew who P2 was.

[I repeat: lap 54, Lewis had no tires to fight back.]
He would have had 20 lap old hards had he made use of the free pit stop mostly under VSC at lap 37 after Max had already pitted.
No one is talking about it because that's not quite how it went down
The race turned to Max when Masi remixed the rules.
@@sean6425
Sean has it right.
They weren’t wrong to assume that seeing as how the previous week they went 5 laps under SC prior to a red flag. No consistency.
All that max needs to be thankful for is his teammate checo an masi

his attitude towards max didnt pay off well,
Seriously, a stare down in F1? Isn’t it already enough of a circus without the boxing analogies? I was cringing the entire video… and so we’re both Max and Lewis from the looks of it.
was wel too much he hahahhaaha. Tis dat die vliegtuigen voorbij kwamen om dat moment ff te breken...

It is weird how you get this sense of good vs. evil in sports. Max/Checo/Horner/Red Bull being good and Toto/Lewis/Mercedes evil.

I think everyone at that time wanted Max to win. Hamilton endlessly winning the years previous took its toll on the viewers, or what was left of them.
After the staredown Max knew he had to go for new tires all the time.
Lewis picking his ears, must have been hearing "super Max" lyrics on and on
I respect Max's lack of care more than Hamilton's avoidance.

that merc was so damn fast all those years, it wasnt a fight!
Congratulations to Max. He is an amazing driver. He earned to be the champion!! Looking forward to more championships👏👍🏻❤️.
Hahaha, really....he earned it, not in the last race. He was dominated by Hamilton even though he was on pole with soft tires, teammate in 4th on the grid, had the count back if neither one of them finished the race, he had no pressure because he was the "underdog" with nothing to lose and finally he had Michael Masi if all else failed. Seriously Max is a good driver, but he absolutely folded under the pressure in the last race, and if he wasn't saved by Michael Masi he'd have to try again next season......which actually would have been better for him. Because now his maiden championship will forever be tainted and wrapped in controversy, because the driver who earned the win and championship was denied by Michael Masi not Max, who couldn't see Lewis on the track last race.......
@@sean6425
Regardless of the controversy, on the last lap Max was the better driver. It is what it is, I am just glad that Max won.

That aged well
I don’t care if this guy retire or not , he deserves 2008 , 2014 and 2015 championship , all the others championship that he wins was given on a plate .. if he want he can keep talking about the fact it was manipulated and everything we don’t care , max deserves the title more than him ..
even 2008 you can argue he won it only because of the crashgate incident
As you say that Verstappen deserved to win the title in 2021, and we know he drove with the better car for major part of the season (as confirmed by no less a person than Newey), and you say that Lewis only deserved 2008, 2014, and 2015, then tell me, which other driver in the grid for each year deserved the titles in the years 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020, more than Lewis?
@@izm4028 2017 was even a closer title fight than people give credit for if Vettel did go on the awful run of DNF at Singapore engine issues in Malaysia and DNF in Japan title would have been a lot closer
2018 as well
Only 2019 and 2020 were title Lewis had won from like halfway during the season
He deserves them all, because in the end the only person to ever challenge him was Rosberg and you can clearly see that Mercedes never privileged Hamilton, because Rosberg has proven himself in the first races and qualifyings
@@izm4028 Good point, nobody deserved it more. But they were handed on a plate and unfortunately for Hamilton, in the future his accomplishments will not be rated because of the compleet superiority of Mercedes in this era. Any half decent driver in that car could have become champion. And I truly hope for Hamilton that he continues and shows he is faster than Russell because if he's not that means his legacy goes down the drain in one season only.
Toto's arrogant smirk got wiped off pretty quickly when FIA told him we are done helping you win. It's a motor race!

"Toto: We went car racing.." hhahahahaha! GOLDDD
He did not ignore him. He was scared
The more Lewis acted cool and calm by digging ear boogers multiple times or taking out his phone pretending to avert all the dangers around him, just goes to show he was trying desperately to hide his fear.

@@achintya3061 My friend, when the time of combat arrives - staredownn does matter. At that point it was 1:0 for Max already. And I saw the aftermath of this very moment on the last lap in turn 5.
