Popcorn was his own man, the definition of independence and doing things his way.
Good Morning!!! Ole popcorn was a legend there in Maggy Valley. Beautiful place. Was'nt far from my parents place in Mountain City Ga... Nice peice of history !!! Thanks for sharing !!!
Very cool. Never knew that part about popcorn. Thanks. Have a great day
That was a cool video for sure!! My son is always dragging some good stuff in from dumpster diving! Thanks for sharing it!! ❣❤❤❣
If it didn't smell bad I brought it home, Ma didn't like that.
🤠👍
Popcorn was from my area of these mountains. Alot of history in these parts.
My niece worked in the old folks home where popcorns mother stayed and met him she always liked the story’s she told.
Good morning! Have a wonderful day and God bless 💞
Definitely one of a kind. Popcorn was an honorable man.
He had so many kids he didn't take care of, one of his daughters bought the rights to his book and set up a fund for them all
He was NOT an honorable man. My father walked away from every baby he ever made. There are at least six of us kids.
I have had some of pop corn Sutton moon shine when I lived in Tennessee before he died. It was very smooth right out of the Masson jar.
This world is full of the most fascinating people! Thanks for sharing a little about "Popcorn."
Happy day Hillbilly, enjoy your day, cool you’re not covered in snow!!!!! 👩🌾✌️🇨🇱
Cool Video of Popcorn. Thanks
That video was amazing! I was in Maggie Valley in 1970 and considered it the prettiest place on the face of the earth. Very few buildings, just mountains and trees and creeks! I understand it has really grown and changed. So sad. It used to look a lot like Idaho does now.
I lived in Sylva,NC most of my life. I had to cross Balsam Mountain to get to Maggie Valley. Popcorn’s “Shine” the best, & whatever you were looking for,he had it. RIP Popcorn Sutton❤️🙏🏻❤️
I have a half a jar of his liquor from one of his last runs.
Its a shame he took his own life in 2009 because he refused to serve a 18 month federal sentence.
Very interesting.Thanks for sharing.
I've watched popcorn's last moon shine show twice and loved it. He had a unique personality. Danny Banford
Love that line, "I ain't good, but I'll be good at it!" Popcorn.
Great video. Thx for sharing.
Blessings, julie
Wow ! Pretty crazy . I saw a YT video by some moonshiners from the program who interviewed his wife on their porch , maybe a yr. after he offed himself . I don't remember her mentioning they had a store . That video is very cool ! Had no idea ..
GOOD MORNING Y'ALL
Popcorn was cool guy ! I’d like to have his old Ford truck !
"I aint good but I'll be good at it" lol thats awesome thanks bubba!
Dumpster diving ROCKS!!
MISS SKY!!!! 🤠 Are you still selling your Book? I need to get me one
I'm doing catch up on vids - Christmas I fell behind. Goodness. I had an uncle that sold liquor (us kids helped him hide it under crawl spaces of buildings. 😲 LOL That was a LONG time ago. This year is just one more day and gone. Time is flying. I love looking at all those old treasures. See ya later HB.
I'm sorry that i just discovered popcorn by accident on UA-cam. After an hour and half documentary i felt like i lost a friend . He must have been an amazing man. Rest in peace 🍿
Thank ya so much for showing Popcorn. He is so young there how old ya guessing. My uncle who passed knew old Popcorn and his shine. My uncle said he makes his reciepe for shine. Thank ya , Thank ya.. Big fan ... Huggles to ya both from Ohio.
Early 40s 👍
@@IdahoHillbilly yeah that's what I thought.
How ironic this video is. I was cleaning up my shop yesterday and took down a wanted poster of popcorn and was going to sneak hang it up at our local restaurant! And, I always wanted to know why he had the nickname "popcorn". Then you posted this today. ❤
That's Awesome...Did you get the story somewhere of how he got that nickname? He actually was drunk and beat the hell out of a Popcorn Machine LoL that's where he got the name 🤠
😊
I’m from Maggie valley nc that’s a living legend
Dumpster divin is fun. 😁👍
and I see you're optimistic about the new year too by that calendar behind you.
Never heard of the man until now and I since searched, interesting, admirable headstone too.
Stayin tuned! 🤠👍

Ain't nothing on this ridge worth dying for.......lol
Good morning friend
What a great thumbnail !!!😊
I'm trying to figure out who took it so I can give them credit
Do you know anything about the guy that recorded that video! Where was this shop of popcorn’s the reason I ask was I used to know a Larry Dixon back in the 1960s but I imagine there are hundreds of guys with that name
That was filmed in Maggie Valley

Good morning
WOOT WOOT 🎉
Thanks for sharing that video, I've only seen the other videos they did of him before when he was making moonshine and telling stories about the mountains and the people who lived there. I always enjoyed those videos so much.
My ex's family is from Murphy N.C., a place called Hanging Dog community. He wasn't much into junk shops but we camped all over those mountains when our boys were little. I bet his brother Buck met Popcorn at some time or other though. He was a veteran and after he retired from the Coast Guard he loved to go camping for a week or two at a time up there. He would always stop in to places like that and talk to people, listen to their stories. I loved to hear him tell us jokes and stories he heard from people he met on his camping trips.
We camped a few times around Maggie Valley and Cherokee but most of the time we liked being farther out from town in places like Black Mountain and Hanging Dog camp grounds. They were more like the places you have driven us through with your truck looking for your firewood. I guess that's why I like those videos so much because it reminds me of places we use to camp.
Thanks for the reminder of so many good memories though.
That's Awesome...Thank You for Sharing That 🤠

I went to Popcorn s. Place when I got marrried back. In in 2008. Went to Maggie Valley for my honeymoon. Seems like a life time ago. Husband died in 2013. Hope you Christmas was good with family.
