Garage Door Hurricane Braces-Required by Florida; Ignored by Hawaii.

The State of Florida requires 1 hurricane brace on EACH panel of a garage door. The state of Hawaii refuses to look at other state's building codes, so they live in La-La land of pretend aloha & "culture" sniveling. A 2 car garage door (16' wide) is a huge target for hurricane winds of 140-165+ mph that can implode the garage door with ease. I know of only 2 houses in Hawaii that meet the Florida building code; my current residence & my prior (first) residence.
