I totally second this as almost every match on the card was solid (Umaga, Shane & a doo-rag wearing Vince vs. Lashley for the ECW Title being the only exception).
@FreeThinkAlways i had this on dvd too! im pretty sure i also got it from HMV too! either that or woolworths but i went home and watched it like 3 times, it also had RVD vs ric flair when flair done like a front flip up the turnbuckle 😂👍 it always has a special place in my heart no mercy 2002 and it seems to be mentioned all the time for all kinds of things, evven undertaker and kane sitting in the locker room when undertaker asked kane how his week has been 😂 wwe used to be soo special man it really took a nosedive
I still have a soft spot for No Way Out 2009. Two fantastic Chamber matches punctuated by one of Edge's best heel moves (and him producing the greatest reaction gif in pro wrestling history in the process) plus Orton/Shane in a No Holds Barred match was great and HBK/JBL was pretty good too. Swagger vs. Finlay for the ECW title... happened. That's all I'll say.
Was about to comment this. It had a mixed middle show but the opener and main event more than made up for it. and honestly Amateur Wrestler Jack Swagger vs Veteran Fit Finlay isn't the worst match the dying ECW brand could have put on there.
This list deserves a sequel, imo, as it's difficult to nail down just ten solid WWE B-Show PPV's. With that said, honorable mentions to shows like No Way Out '01, No Mercy '01, Vengeance '03, Backlash '07 and Money in the Bank '11.
They’re not “nailing down just 10 ‘solid’ b show ppvs” they’re counting down the 10 best…. Hope this helps explain as to why there were only 10 of them… 🤡🤡🤡
Good selection. Another underrated B-PPV is Vengeance 2003. Cena vs Taker & Brock vs Angle vs Show were superb. Oh and we got Eddie vs Benoit & World’s Greatest Tag Team vs Kidman & Rey Mysterio.
Vengeance 2005 often gets overlooked due to the smaller stage. The Hell in a Cell match between HHH and Batista should have been the WM 21 match it was brutal and definitely one of the top 5 hell in a cell Matches of all time
It may just be my personal bias being there live, but Clash at the Castle absolutely deserves a shout on a list like this. Consistently great with a genuine 5 star classic.
No Mercy 2016 was the first that came to mind. The Ziggler/Miz match was one of my fave matches the last decade. And the WWE title match was the opener.
dont forget RVD vs ric flair was also a match at no mercy 2002! a single ppv had tajiri, ric flair, RVD, lesnar, undertaker, edge, triple H, kurt angle, rey mysterio, eddie guererro, chris benoit, kane and tori wilson.. the pop they get when they have just 1 of these at an event now is unbelievable
Unforgiven 2006 was a great show, and was a good case study of WWE stacking a show with a Hell in a Cell match, a TLC match and a retirement match all in the same night that made sense, without the stipulations feeling shoe-horned in to a certain month every year. And other than ECW Champion Big Show, it was a brand-exclusive show, proving the concept could work if they put the effort in and they didn't need every show to feature people from Raw AND Smackdown.
The “popped that one guy in a camp t-shirt really hard” sent me. They use that image in almost every video package and that guy wears the SAME EXACT shirt to every event now. I always pick him out of the crowd on TV and even at WWE & AEW wrestling events I attend live in my town 😂
My favorite B-Show was judgement day 2001. I had it on DVD and would watch it litterally all the time. It had a fun Tag Team Turmoil An Awesome 2 out 3 Falls Match with Beniot and Angle. Chyna vs Lita in an underrated women's match of the era. A good double main event with Trips vs Kane And Taker vs Stone Cold. Just a fun event all around
Very good list. Here are some that might have made the cut: No Way Out 2009 No Way Out 2001 One Night Stand 2008 No Mercy 2007 No Mercy 2016 Battleground 2016 Extreme Rules 2016
Backlash 2007. Six matches - with titles on the line. Some of the booking could have been better, but the matches were all good to excellent as far as in-ring work goes. And the ending to the main event is an all-time sequence
I only watched WWF (It's real name) from 1998 to 2007, so here are mine. 1. Judgement Day 2000 2. Vengeance 2005 3. One Night Stand 2006 4. One Night Stand 2005 5. No Mercy 2002 6. No Mercy 1999 7. Fully Loaded 2000 8. No Mercy 2001 9. No Way Out 2001 10. Backlash 2000
My favorite tag match all time was a TLC match with the Dudley Boyz, Edge and Christian, and the Hardy Boyz triple threat Tag match for the Tag Team Titles
Thank you for putting Backlash 2000 at number 1, it really is. I remember in 2000 I was on holiday and wasn't watching any tv and by the time I got back home it was the go-home Raw and SD for Fully Loaded 2000, and I was transfixed, it felt like I had been a lapsed wrestling fan and just tuned in again and everything was so chaotic and different, when it had only been 3 weeks. I was extremely excited for it and during it I was thrilled too. The main event angle was my favourite but the other main events, Rikishi jumping off the cage and Trish and Lita being especially brutal to each other in that 6 person tag were high on my list. And Perry Saturn was in my boy stable too so was happy to see him capture gold, and hear his awesome new theme tune.
Thanks a lot for doing this greatwork :) always interestign top I would love to see matches ranked from worst to best of other big 4 PPVS than Wrestlemania but I know it took colossal work and time!
Great list! My one addition would be Vengeance 2003. I believe top to bottom, that was a great show. From Eddie winning the the US title, the tag match between Rey & Billy Kidman vs World's Greatest Tag Team and the main event Triple Threat for the WWE Title, Angle, Big Show and Lesnar - all great!
Um you forgot to mention the triple threat wwe title match at vengeance 2005 with Cena, Jericho and Christian which was a classic in my honest opinion.
Awesome, I was there at No Mercy 2002. Went with my brother and it was my first ever ppv live event after almost 15 years of being a fan. Anytime WWE, and now AEW, is in Arkansas, at Simmons Bank Arena, they call it Little Rock (the capital) but its actually North Little Rock. There's a river that divides the two cities but Little Rock sounds better. Anyways funny story about getting tickets to that show....I remember this smelly lady with a tank top who was behind us in line all night, and we overheard her saying she was there to see Kevin Nash at an in-arena meet and greet and that she took a greyhound bus overnight from Tulsa, Oklahoma to get there. After we got out tickets, we were driving off and saw the same lady walking to our nearby greyhound bus stop. I think she actually took a greyhound over night, saw Big Sexy, and left via greyhound to go back to Tulsa. She wanted Big D for sure. Oh and if you stop the video at 4:02 and look to the far left, about 5 rows up, you'll see a guy in a white shirt, Im the guy one row up with a grey hoodie.
Evolution was such a good ppv. My only nitpicks were that I think Becky vs Charlotte should have gone on last and the Bayszler needed help to beat Kairi despite being presented as a dominant heel prior, which is why I think her first run with the title was better even though it wasn't that long. I was a little sad Toni vs Io wasn't given that big of a slate of time, but they made full use of the time they had and I think Toni deserved the win even though I was cheering for Io. Also it was nice to see Lita, Mickie, and Trish compete as well considering they were basically the three biggest women stars of their time
One of my favorites is Breakdown 1998. You had Edge vs Owen to jerk the curtain and it was solid. You had a really good match between D-Lo and Gangrel of all people for the Euro title. You had an amazing triple threat cage match between Rock, Shamrock, and Mankind, where Mankind gave the wonderful "sugar coated testes" promo. There was a great match (albeit with a stupid storyline) between Val Venis and Dustin Runnels. And the main event had Austin vs Kane vs Taker with one of the most unusual cliffhanging enders I can remember.
I will never care about people wanting Brock to win over Cena. I’m happy that Cena won it makes it a better watch for me because I didn’t think he was going to win
Here are some events that have soft spots to me: 1. Vengeance 2002 (The Rock/Angle/Taker triple threat for the WWE Title was a superb closing to a pretty good card) 2. No Way Out 2004 (Eddie Guererro winning the WWE Title is still one of the most wholesome scenes in WWE history) 3. Armageddon 2008 (An incredible sendoff to this PPV series with Jeff Hardy finally seizing the WWE Title) 4. Bragging Rights 2009 (That 60 Minute Ironman Match between Cena and Orton is the perfect end to a good event like this) 5. TLC 2009 (Sheamus emerged as a legitimate threat to the WWE when he bested John Cena) 6. NXT Takeover: R Evolution 2014 (Yes, I'm including NXT in these, shut up. Anyways, Sami Zayn finally winning the big one and Kevin Owens' arrival and shocking betrayal make this one for me) 7. Elimination Chamber 2019 (Pretty much the birth of Kofimania, leading to his well-deserved run as WWE Champion) 8. NXT Takeover: In Your House 2020 (All 6 matches were great in their own regard, but it's Io Shirai finally capturing the NXT Women's Title that makes me happy)
Glad to see Canadian Stampede on the list. Classic PPV for sure. Not surprised many of the ones in this list were from the Ruthless Aggression era too.
On top of the 10 in this video I also recommend: Backlash 1999, Judgment Day 2000, No Way Out 2001, No Mercy 2001, Judgment Day 2002, Vengeance 2003, Backlash 2004, Bad Blood 2004,No Way Out 2006, Armageddon 2006, Backlash 2007, Cyber Sunday 2007, No Mercy 2008, No Way Out 2009, Battleground 2016
I think extreme rules 2014 deserves a honorable mention as it didn’t really promote or forward any huge stories but it was one of the best paper views in terms of match quality. Paired with 2015 and 16 I think these three years of extreme rules were truly when the event had a meaning
Ummm.....No Way Out 2004? The night Eddie beat Brock for the WWE Championship? I hope this was at least a finalist. I was in the crowd that night with ringside seats.
Unforgiven 2006 is really great but I cannot believe you didn't mention one of the best RKOs ever, that was done to Carlito. One of the first real out of nowheres
I've also got to give a shout out to No Mercy 2008 which culminated in the incredible one-two punch of Triple H vs. Hardy and the HBK vs. Jericho ladder match for the title.

EDIT - Surprised at the former missing out, but glad the second didn't. Also, kudos to having Backlash 2000 and the awesome finish to 2 Hotty vs. Malenko.

In his 2000 ranking of ppvs, he had Fully Loaded as the best ppv of that year but on here it’s Backlash In 2001, he ranked Backlash behind 4 B ppvs (Rebellion, Vengeance, No Mercy, and No Way Out) but on here he ranks that one over all of them. A little confused consistency-wise
I really wish King of the Ring was on this list because it was one of my favorite B-show PPVs that WWE had in the past. Imagine how many stars could benefit from winning that tournament: Johnny Gargano, Chad Gable, Montez Ford, Ricochet, etc. Getting that chance to compete for a shot at the WWE Championship.
@cultaholicwrestling who ever wrote this script for Adam deserves a raise asap lol . This is probably the first video I’ve ever seen that he didn’t sound like a complete mark lmao . He was actually knowledgeable and even kind of funny at times ..Chat Gpt keep up the good work 😂😂😂😂… I might actually resubscribe now
No Mercy 2002 was an absolute banger. Also, though the card itself wasn't great (it wasn't bad either), Brock Lesnar and John Cena's match at Backlash 2003 was great, and is very slept on.
No Way Out 2001 deserved to be on this list, and possibly at the top spot.
Just for Steve Austin being hit in the head with a can of beer
That was much better than Fully Loaded 2000 IMO
@@johnalbent They were all better than Backlash 2001, which was mid. Fully Loaded was incredible and deserves to be on this list.
Backlash 2007 deserves a mention. Cena vs HBK vs Edge vs Orton and Undertaker vs Batista last man standing match was awesome!
I totally second this as almost every match on the card was solid (Umaga, Shane & a doo-rag wearing Vince vs. Lashley for the ECW Title being the only exception).
Taker vs Batista rivalry was amazing imo
No Mercy 02 is one of my favorite early wrestling memories. The tag match and Hell in a Cell match are absolute classics.
was that Triple H and Cactus Jack?
@@travisrochelle4499 Lesnar and Taker.

Forgot a banger triple threat between Cena Jericho and Christian at Vengeance 05 too!
I haven’t seen that show I’m here looking for more to watch from that era and it seems like vengeance 05 is a must see and that match just sold me!
Nobody refers to that match as a banger ...
Stupid word
@@TheBlindEye90 irony or are u old
Yeah, it's weird they forgot that, considering it was the second to last match on the card.

Fully Loaded 2000: First PPV The Undertaker did the Last Ride
Edit: I loved it, but No Way Out 2001 was better
personally, I fondly remember No Mercy '08 - the HBK/Jericho ladder match and HHH/Jeff Hardy is a wild one-two punch
Just saying no way out 01 is probably the best b show ever. The bridge between the greatest rumble and greatest mania ever
Backlash 2000 and Unforgiven 2005 are my favourite "B-show" PPV's. Both entertaining shows from top to bottom!
No Way Out , Backlash , Vengeance Unforgiven , Armaggedon etc are interesting ppvs
Honestly I miss them they are way better than the Gimmick PPV's hope Papa H brings a few of them back especially No Way Out
YESSSS BACKLASH 01!!! Gosh that’s such an underrated ppv. Absolutely love it from beginning to end!
Last man standing with rock big show Austin and I forgot someone else in Anaheim Honda center was my favorite. Almost 2 hour match

In case you haven’t picked up on it yes I like backlash unfortunately I haven’t seen backlash 2000 or 2001
Considering Vince's well known hatred for tag team wrestling, how they actually built an entire PPV around tag team wrestling like Survivor Series is a mystery that will never be solved.
Vengeance 2002 was a banger. Just starting video so hoping it's on here..Judgement Day 2004 was dope too.
Vengeance 2002 should be on the list that triple threat between the rock , kurt angle and the undertaker was amazing
This gives me a great watchlist on the WWE Network. Thanks guys!
The most underrated PLE’s
Roadblock 2016
Fast lane 2017
Survivor series: war games 2022
Extreme rules 2011
Hell in a cell 2010
Crown Jewel 2019
Wrestlemania 38
Just about to start the video and Backlash 2004 should make the cut. If we're including In Your House events, the Canadian Stampede should feature also.
EDIT - Surprised at the former missing out, but glad the second didn't. Also, kudos to having Backlash 2000 and the awesome finish to 2 Hotty vs. Malenko.
I would have thought Backlash 04 would have made the list, Cactus Jack vs Randy Orton and the Wrestlemania XX main event rematch anyone?
My Top 10
1. Backlash 2000
2. Fully Loaded 2000
3. Unforgiven 2006

Vengeance and New Year’s resolution was always my 2 favorites
Some underrated ones
Hell in a Cell from last year was really good (2022)
Battleground 2016 (one of my favourite all time ppvs tbh)
Backlash 2016
Backlash 2004
Vengeance 2005
There are some hidden gems from 2002 im sure of it but cant remember if it was No mercy or Unforgiven
Vengeance 2003 is insanely underrated. Needs more love!
Shoutout to No Way Out 2009. 2 amazing elimination chamber matches with the overarching Edge heel story. Vengeance 2003 was also really good.
I remember having vengeance 2005 on dvd and consistently rewatching
In his 2000 ranking of ppvs, he had Fully Loaded as the best ppv of that year but on here it’s Backlash
In 2001, he ranked Backlash behind 4 B ppvs (Rebellion, Vengeance, No Mercy, and No Way Out) but on here he ranks that one over all of them.
A little confused consistency-wise
Good idea for video 👍
I loved it 👍
When someone asks what the greatest b show is, my immediate thought is always vengeance 2003.
Armageddon 06 was an amazing show
Inferno match , fatal 4 ladder match last ride match.
He was actually knowledgeable and even kind of funny at times ..Chat Gpt keep up the good work 😂😂😂😂… I might actually resubscribe now
Not a bad list. I'd probably have Judgment Day 2000 and Vengeance 2003 instead of Backlash 2001 and Evolution.
No Mercy 2002 was an absolute banger. Also, though the card itself wasn't great (it wasn't bad either), Brock Lesnar and John Cena's match at Backlash 2003 was great, and is very slept on.
