I love them both but Lynch is near and dear to my heart.... But thanks you very much for the sub... I've gotten quite a few because of this video so I will be making more. Thanks for the vote of confidence. Appreciated!
Sick playing man sounds like Lynch used to sound. Have been playing the small box boosted. Tumnus is a great OD to put in front of other pedals too. Key is to find ones that boost in different frequency ranges according to Wampler. Not an expert wish that was easier to figure out. 2 pedals and a eq with boosted mid range (reverse of mid scoop) is another I have tried out too- I have noticed it will make the eq on the small box all sound the same. I like to boost the distortion without maxing the gain or treble getting into “metal zone”unnatural harshness or grinding sounds. Using several pedals I get it boosted never getting to the tonal characteristics of maxed gain, like to keep it at 75%-80% or lower. I can only tell the gain structures apart with an 18v power source. Somehow the switch got unplugged I think too had to open it and unplug it push it back in. It looked like it was plugged about halfway at first don’t think it was making any connection.
Hey thank you. I use the tumnus as well and a pedal that works really well is the wampler mini ego comp.... To my surprise. I don't normally like compression on distortion but that one seems to hit it differently.
@@TavaresProject I use that one too! The only compressor I have ever bought I generally hate the idea. It goes well with that pedal I bought both bc of Amazon’s ad system lol. Btw- I like the way you create space with long bends and vibrato. A little bit like Marty Friedman who prob got it from Lynch. Been thinking of ways to create more space in my own leads not overplay.
@@bojangles6444 I'm glad you noticed that... And yes I learned it from Lynch, EVH and all those amazing players.. my biggest complaint with modern day players is that they can play virtually anything at any speed but hardly do they ever bend and use vibrato for creating emotion and just taking a breath.
I like the vid and tones, but you voice was louder than both pedals from the 4 minute to 6 minute area, couldn't really tell a difference between the two when so low
@@TavaresProject the tones in the tune were f'n great, really enjoyed it. I have the Smallbox, and now just got two pedals from CKK/Sinvertek. The v1 Scream Honey, and the v4 Drive N5+ "3D Gold". The three on my board, it's like having the best 50w Marshall- a modded out Marshall- and a Soldano/Bogner/Egnater/Engl/H&K/5150 type monster for everything over the top. Those and the Klamac El Mo' for the Fender Twin tone of SRV, and I have 4 ch's of killer that covers everything through any amp. I should learn how to make UA-cam vids!
@@TavaresProject Ok, so the pedal has had 3 different housings and a revision. 1st was the Arc Furnace which is the same circuit as all but has a boost [they improve the boost later]. I provided the link below, then then 2nd was the El Mo' and the El More which replaces the treble for presence [smaller/no boost], then the original guy sold it all to his partner and now the 3rd version is by RFO Electronics called the Tone Star Custom. It is the same El Mo pedal with an improved boost and a stack order function that is really cool, and it is currently available new. I don't know if a link will make it past UA-cam's rules, but listen to this before searching for more. This vid is the best tonal representation. ua-cam.com/video/RJ5_jyvMaS8/v-deo.html Definitely listen to THIS ^ vid first, because the guy that did the RFO vid recorded the room sound and it's subdued in tone and volume. Still great, but this link I sent is what the El Mo and the RFO sound like - PLEASE reply here and let me know what ya think thx
@@b.scottfarthingsworth I heard the link.. it was pretty cool... The new version I wasn't digging so much... I think the crossfire CTC is more what I was thinking.
Hello. Can I ask you a question about the small box? How much noise this pedal? Also, can this pedal reproduce the sound of pop punk(Greenday) or oasis well?
What music/style? Beod is a great gain monster without sounding insane. You still get articulation and the internal pot allowed you to turn down the gain... I didn't find the small box had enough gain... But if you're playing ac/dc all day, then it's great
Lol. Yes you heard right... The final is very Lynch mob influenced and I'm going to have a special guest guitar player on it as well.... Stayed tuned for the music video coming in early 2021
This is an AIC inspired riff/song that the main riff is completely through the BE-OD into a clean amp. It's pretty ripping Listen to They Remain by Tavares Project on #SoundCloud soundcloud.app.goo.gl/J6bii
I fully agree with you ...two is better than one ...and since I got already the BE-OD I'm now waiting for the Smallbox to land in Europe ...
Very useful comparison, thanks! I was thinking DiMartini/Ratt with the opening jam, but can hear the Lynch also now that you mention it :) Sub’d!

Great vid. I just discovered and bought the BE-OD last week. I may just get a small box too. Thanks!
Thanks!! I prefer the BE-OD...my fav amp in a box.. but the Smallbox is nice too.
Someone is a big Lynch fan. Nice.
Hi,im not Sure, are this distortion or Overdrive pedal. Thanks
I would say more of an overdrive
@@TavaresProject ok thanks buddy 🤟
@@Brad143 I mean the smallbox pedal. The BE-OD is definitely a distortion.
Would this Freidman Smallbox pedal (or Dirt Shirley) be a good boost pedal, similar to the BOSS SD-1?
I guess you could use this as that but it's not meant to be used as such. It's an amp in a box.
played so well that i subbed.
Thank you. I appreciate it.. I'll work on the talking part. Lol
The 6:30 antics got me too. Subbed.

Hi. The pedal is not noisy at all. I wouldn't say it's voiced for green day or Oasis.... It does low and mid level gain.
Great guitar tones 👍 Do you think either pedal would do okay into a Fender 65’ Deluxe Reverb/AC15 rig?
