Same! Never had a Dreamcast or Og Xbox. Was a PS2/Gamecube kid but holy shit am i in love with the Dreamcast. Been playing it for almost a 1 non stop. Just recently got a xbox to live that video game generation as much as i can
MechAssault 1 and 2 were great. A remake of those and Crimson skies would be awesome. I'm glad you mentioned Quantum Redshift I bought it the year of release criminally underrated. I'd throw Bloodwake in there too.
I just completed MechAssault last week! It holds up very well. Luckily, it's quite cheap, too. It's not backwards compatible, though. Crimson Skies is, and looks amazing in 4K.
I loved Quantum Redshift. Many exhilarating moments once you excel at it. I would add Gunvalkyrie as another gem. Controls are awkward for a while but once you get the hang of it, it can be so fun.
Still my favourite console to this day. Every game was great. I've just downloaded Kotor on current gen to play what is imo one of the best rpgs ever made
Great video, Good to hear someone else besides me has heard of dead to rights. Played it on the og xbox years ago and enjoyed the crap out of it. Has a sequal on the 360 called dead to rights retribution which is also great you might want to give that one a try also.

Now I have watch every video on your channel and you're doing amazing work. I would really like a video about Xbox 360 Arcade titles. In general video about all Xbox 360 digital games you should buy before the store dies in extra extra large.❤

Ever since xbox released the Xbox 360 console that gives achievements I no longer play original Xbox anymore if I were to play games that don’t give achievements it would be the classic games like Pac-Man
@@thegamethrifter As much I love to agree with you in which I can’t achievements have changed everything they help me play trash games that come on game pass when you earn an achievement on a game pass game you get rewarded money for earning an achievement which has never happened until the Xbox one was released with Microsoft rewards I have over a million points on my Xbox Microsoft rewards account that I can redeem for a brand new Xbox series X or any digital games controllers it’s to bad Microsoft didn’t try to add achievements to their older original Xbox games their adding them on game pass but pointless to play them if no achievements are included
@@thegamethrifter well there are trash games that aren’t the kind of games I would play or buy all the games I love are the classic games the games you enjoy playing not playing them for achievements like tekken games just bought tekken 8 for Xbox series X PS5 abd Steam PC Spider-Man that’s only on PlayStation for now which shouldn’t it was on all platforms Sega Nintendo Xbox PlayStation but as soon Sony took away Spider-Man you can’t enjoy playing it more then once I only buy classic games for the Nintendo Switch since Nintendo doesn’t have achievements
Good list...but got to throw out there... Blood Wake, Mech Assault, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Apex Racing, Grabbed by the Ghoulies (personal guilty pleasure), Need for Speed: Underground, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Darkwatch, Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee So many greats :)
Nice list but I would rather see a list of games that can only be played on the original Xbox such as Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2 and 007 games. Give us a reason to buy an original Xbox. A lot of those can be bought and played on Xbox One.
So of the 10 main games I listed, Jet Set Radio, NFL 2K5, Otogi, Simpsons Road Rage, Quantum Redshift, Fable The Lost Chapters, Star Wars: Obi-Wan and Dead To Rights aren't backwards compatible on newer Xbox's. Ninja Gaiden is BC but not the version I played here. Only Ninja Gaiden Black
@@thegamethrifter sure, I did say a lot, not all. However, Dead to Rights is available in the Microsoft Store ($10) on my XB1X. The Lost Chapters are included in Fable Anniversary (also available for purchase in the Microsoft Store). JSRF (yes, not JSR) can be obtained for the 360 in the game combo disc with Pure on eBay. But yeah, if you want JSR (not Future), OG Xbox is it, although, it was available in the Microsoft Store until it got delisted a year ago.
I find the older games I grew up with much harder than anything today. Almost every game that comes out today you can pick up and play. Older games would force you to learn them because you couldn’t just quit and go download another game instantly
The Simpsons Hit and Run is the best Simpsons game of all time, and yes, that includes the Arcade game. Also, the best Tony Hawk game Underground is still one of my favorites and is backwards compatible on the 360.
How is the 360? I believe the working ones should have it, but unfortunately I saw on Wikipedia there's a list and emulation errors from original games on 360.
I noticed all these Xbox videos on UA-cam never include spy vs spy. Not even the videos that say forgotten or hidden gems on Xbox. Spy vs spy is very forgotten

If only I can find a pristine OG Xbox with its games today as I wanna know what are the functions of that two extra black and white buttons on the controller. But my country is PS territory.
San andreas was my favorite game on the old xbox with the small bump up in graphics and the user soundtracks. In fact im about to buy another og xbox so i can play my fave game with my own favorite music. Perfection Area 51 Cold fear Destroy all humans Thps2x Tron 2.0 I cant wait to play all these again as well, havent been able to since 2016, im overdue.
Simpsons Road Rage but not Hit and Run?? Hmm interesting. Personally I've been playing through Tony Hawks Underground lately, both games are so good, wish they kept making THPS remakes until the developer merged with Blizzard :/ Burnout 3 Takedown deserves a mention for the next video too, such a good game.
People that are collectors would beg to differ, I couldn't care less about emulation. I own all original hardware and software, the way it was meant to be played.
I play Shemmue 2 on Dreamcast and you messed up my experience by telling who killed his father. I can't explain how mad I am at you for that. Saying spoiler after the fact was such a poor decision. Why would you do such a thing? I paid a lot of money for a copy of the game. How would you feel if someone did this to you?
Gaming now consists of me turning it on just to sit and stare and at the main menu screens like 😴 2007 Halo 3 multiplayer was the best time of my life with gaming hands down
Funny, I don't remember Quantum Redshift to be all that fantastic... but there were a whole lot of these kinds of games back in the day, and it's easy to forget which one is which. Kinetica is the one where the peoples' bodies are literally futuristic motorcycles, right?
I don't remember Kinetica, but Quantum Redshift was a spiritual successor to Wipeout and made by a good amount of people who made that game. It's not great, but I was having fun with it and wanted something different variety for the video.

There's a lot of people playing MCC on Xbox though, and in particular my friends. I also have Insignia, but those things are difficult to get casual friends to use.
Every game I showed in the 10 main games were captured on my original Xbox. The some of the one's that weren't even mentioned were just filler from my backwards compatibility video previously. It's really not that serious.

Never said it wasn't.
great vid ty...i really like my og xbox.
Glad you enjoyed it!
best thing ab the og xbox is its SO cheap to collect for
Absolutely! I mean there's a handful of pricey games but for the most part games are a steal. And the games still look pretty good!
Do Brute Force next, but only if you have at least one person playing co op with you.
That is an awesome game for sure!
Just recently got an OG XBox and I made a list of some game I would love to have for it
007 series
Area 51
Beyond good and evil
Black
Blinks 1 and 2
Blood Omen
Buffy the vampire slayer
Carmen sandiego
Codename KND
Conker: live and reloaded
Dead to rights
Fable
Freedom fighter
Hitman
Justice league heroes
Kung fu chaos
Some Spyro games
Mission impossible
Maybe mortal kombat
Narc
ninja Gaiden
Oddworld
PAC-world 2
Predator:Concrete Jungle
Scooby Doo
Jet set radio future
Star Wars Rouge commander
Van helsing
WWF raw
Wwe raw
and Zathura
This is an incredible list! I have a good number of these games myself!
The mortal kombat games for the Xbox are must-plays, especially shaolin monks and deception
I have some somewhere, I'll have to check that out! @@MisfitMods
If only I can find a pristine OG Xbox with its games today as I wanna know what are the functions of that two extra black and white buttons on the controller. But my country is PS territory.
You can try places like eBay and have success.
Are you on Insignia?
I have an account but haven't played much. Think it's pretty cool though.
@@thegamethrifter Great, hope to catch a game with you soon!
Absolutely! appreciate you watching! @@theTF2sniper
San andreas was my favorite game on the old xbox with the small bump up in graphics and the user soundtracks. In fact im about to buy another og xbox so i can play my fave game with my own favorite music. Perfection
Area 51
Cold fear
Destroy all humans
Thps2x
Tron 2.0
I cant wait to play all these again as well, havent been able to since 2016, im overdue.
GREAT LIST! Absolutely love to see people share the love on the original Xbox!
Both are good Simpsons games!
Ninja Gaiden is a masterpiece
Awesome game!
The Xbox version of Gauntlet Dark Legacy is a must for co-op. It made me sad that it was never made BC.
I think I have that around here somewhere, I'll give it a look! Thanks for watching!
Most of these are already available or emulatable on various platforms. It really still feels like Xbox had nothing back then neither
I honestly hope you're joking? It tells you who killed him at the start of the first game lol
Even the recap tells you....
Area 51 was definitely one of my favorites
I'll have to check it out!
@@thegamethrifter I know you'll love playing it as much as I did
I'd never heard of it before, so looking forward to giving it a go! @@timothyhughes3303
Gaming now consists of me turning it on just to sit and stare and at the main menu screens like 😴 2007 Halo 3 multiplayer was the best time of my life with gaming hands down
That was an unforgettable time!
Star Wars republic commando, burnout revenge, toe jam and earl. Their is to many, all the other game suggestions in the comments are great too.
Toejam And Earl 3 is on my list but can be costly. I'm looking for a good deal on it!
I'm with you on time limits. They suck. However, there is 1 exception. Majora't Mask.
Well that game is built around that lol
No Amped 2 on the list is a crime though.
I own the game, and will for sure add it to a future video!
The thing is amazing for horror fans
What's your favorite horror Xbox game?
Im not sure about this whole Gayden thing 😵💫
I've heard it both ways
Fun fact: Shenmue is the reason why Dirt Griggity got divorced with his first wife. 😂
Who knew? Oh wait...I did ...
I miss Kung Fu Chaos
I just ordered that off eBay actually lol.
I was missing it from my collection.
I actually want a remaster of that, with achievements and online mulitplayer (which I would personally never use but others would)
who wouldn't want that?? @@richallenxbox1976
I’m sorry but nothing beats tork and king fu chaos I’m sorry ha
Solid games for sure!
Og xbox live was resurrected its called insignia
I know, I use it lol
Ninja Guyden not Gaydan
Gotcha! Literally some people told me both ways lol
Yea
YEA!
when i heard you say gaiden i cringed a little. i always thought it was like "guy-den," not "gay-den." But im old and played that at arcades.
I had people tell me it's pronounced both ways lol
So I remembered the movie The Wizard and he pronounces it GUY-DEN
stop stretching 4:3 footage to 16:9, it looks absolutely bloody awful
I didn't stretch any on here. Xbox has widescreen options.
@@thegamethrifter your Simpsons hit & run footage is not widescreen, it is 4:3 stretched to 16:9, look how wide and distorted everything is
Burger King Foot Lettuce ahh voice
LMAO
Honorable Mentions
NFL street 2
NBA Street Vol 2
Artic Thunder
Blitz: The League
MLB Slugfest Loaded
Turok: Evolution
Tony Hawk Underground 2
Tony Hawk American Wasteland
Test Drive Eve Of Destruction
The Chronicles Of Riddick Escape From Butcher Bay
Brute Force
GREAT LIST!
Voodoo vince
Amped
Blinx
Solid choices, all games I own. I'm definitely doing more vids on the Xbox in the future!
Kung fu chaos!
Seeing a lot of people loving this game! I'm gonna have to do another video with it!
Ninja Gai...den..(gaiden) not Gay...in
Gotcha! Someone said "Guy-den" as well.
Crazy how you make a video praising og xbox and pretend like halo MCC is the best way to play halo online. Real players play project cartographer or Xlink kai
Dead in comparison tho. Barely get enough people for a few games. MCC is on PC and current consoles.
There's a lot of people playing MCC on Xbox though, and in particular my friends. I also have Insignia, but those things are difficult to get casual friends to use.
Exactly. And my friends aren't jumping through hoops or even own original Xbox's...they just play on Series X's.
Downvoted. Another UA-camr who misleads viewers by showing remastered gameplay and HD upscaled games and not true to hardware original versions
Every game I showed in the 10 main games were captured on my original Xbox. The some of the one's that weren't even mentioned were just filler from my backwards compatibility video previously. It's really not that serious.
I prefer pronouncing it as "Ninja gayden" too, don't worry😎
LMAO!
He sucks at jet set radio 😂😂😂
Sure does!
No DOA dude unsubscribing
It wouldn't read my DOA disc for some reason, but I own it.
It's all about retro gaming and movie's now to escape the woke nonsense.
I can understand that thought process!
@thegamethrifter it's the way forward fella.
