How much better is the U7K than the U6K? I know what the specs are on paper but is it actually a decent noticeable difference?
better
Thanks for the review, I just purchased this TV for my Mom and I just set it up. With your tuning suggestions, the picture looks great. Thanks again, and have a blessed Thanksgiving.
Thank you, happy Thanksgiving to you as well.
I'm purchasing for my elderly mom, too. Hope she liked it and found it easy to use
Nice review.....thank you. Just looking at TVs at Best Buy, and I couldn't believe the picture on this Hisense. It's really great.
Thank you, my friend! What a great review! Very helpful.
Great video. One question. How is this for sports, football & hockey?
I have this tv and it’s really smooth gaming and I play doom eternal @120fps @1080p but the upscale is crazy good! Also forza horizon is blistering fast and I came in first place and you feel the power ! I payed 350 for the 55 inch
Very interesting, would consider to buy
I wouldn't call this TV a budget TV as the title suggests.
more like midrange but a good review.
Good luck getting this TV out of Soap Opera mode. Presumably many people like that look, but I do not. I finally found a configuration that looks okay, but I preferred how my old, now dead Insignia looked.
You should do the U6N that just came out?
Mine came with a big yellow block that stretches from the side of top left (when viewing) to the middle of the TV. Gonna return it.
Very nice budget tv.
So i had this and returned it becsuse of the sound popping and purchased thr samsung c8000 and to my disappointment i found the hisense a much better colour
I live in Cyprus and unfortunately I cannot get hold of the U7K. I will be mostly using a TV for my PS5 and heard the U7K is perfect for it. So I have an option of the U6k or the Samsung QE65Q70C. Would you be able to recommend or help me decide?
Just picked one up for under 600$ for use with my Xbox Series X!
How does it look?
would you say this tv is not for movie lovers? i only watch movies and youtube and i hate choppy motion that has artifacts... do you think i should buy this tv?
Joelster when will you be reviewing the new Hisense U8K? Really looking forward to your thoughts on both picture and sound quality. Thanks
Im looking forward to reviewing it, but Hisense hasn't contacted me and I don't have the $$ to buy tvs right now, my channel is performing really bad and companies don't want to send me products anymore 🫥
@@JoelsterG4k That's too bad. You do a great job reviewing. I think it's their loss. 👍
@@dennysheldon1682 Thanks :) I just feel so discourage right now, I need time to think if I should continue or not.
Thank you for the excellent review! You said it struggles with motion at 24fps. Does it mean that video/movies don’t look smooth by default (without that enhancement)? Does it also struggle with higher fps?
That is correct, movies at 24p don't look as smooth when panning, motion enhancer at the low settings helps a lot.
Unless you buy a premium Mini Dot Led most panels struggle with motion in 24fps...I'm buying the U8K 55 inch this Friday for 799.99 at Best Buy.
Hu
Seems like it’s a gaming tv, if it can’t handle 24fps without artificial enhancements it’s fail for movie and tv watchers.
I bought this TV and it will be delivered in one month but I wonder... doesn't it have Vida OS? I mean, you spoke out GoogleTV app, how? Shouldn't you be forced to just use it with their software as is? I never owned a smart TV, this will be my first.
The u6k pro version comes with google tv
How's the TV holding up?
What about pwm?
Will I get a headache and eye strain from this TV?
Excellent video. Can you help me? I only watch streaming, I'm worried about CLOUDING, I want the new tv for my dimly lit room, is this a good option to have something decent and economical? Do you recommend it?
Yes this is a good budget tv, I didn't have any issues with it.
@@JoelsterG4k muchas gracias por tu respuesta. Si tienes canal en español, házmelo saber. Gracias crack..
How is the Google UI and menus after months of use? I have a Sony with Google TV and it’s painfully slow even after factory resetting. How much CPU/RAM or GPU memory does it have? Thanks!!
@5ive1ne9ine Im using the U8K which also has the same google OS and after a year of usage it still works great.
Good review, thanks!
Is there an A/V or headphone out jack on this TV?
Headphone out Bluetooth, video playback Yes, but not PVR, Chromecast built in.
Does it support airplay?
Hi if you had to choose between the Hisense u6 mini led vs LG qned75 both in 65 inches which one would you get?
Hisense, LG uses IPS on their TVs and they dont have good blacks and contrast is pretty bad too.
Thinking of getting this as a budget gaming TV. How's it handle XBox series X?
Its a good tv for gaming, it has VRR, but you are limited to 4k60hz.
@@JoelsterG4kthat's fine, 120fps gaming excluding Halo MP isn't worth it to me given the usual large resolution drop.
Thanks for answering and your time.
Cool
Does this upscale 1080p content ok? What’s your thoughts on this vs tcl 5 series ? I got a 5 series from 2021 546 and not happy with it.
Only 2k content
Hi, how do I get rid of the soap opera effect? It really messes with me and I've never had a TV that had it so not sure what to look for. Thanks
Turn off any motion enhancements under picture settings.
@@JoelsterG4k thank you. I'll try it when I get home. I just got the TV and tried watching a star wars lightsaber dual scene and got motion sickness lol
Can i cast my android phone to this TV , pls answer when you see this
Yes you can, my wife has done it, I need to ask her how she did it lol.
Did you test its audio passthrough capabilities? Strangely, only a handful of eARC TVs will pass through all the possible HDMI audio formats, mostly Sony; thus far it appears all eARC TVs that support all the major HDR formats either limit LPCM to 2.0 channels (not 5.1 or 7.1) or block DTS bitstreams. I was hoping the 2023 Hisense models would end that silly limitation.
Yes I did connect my soundbar with eARC and it sounded great, Dolby Atmos works amazing.
@@JoelsterG4k Atmos is normal for this kind of TV. Did you test DTS or multichannel PCM? Those are the formats most eARC TVs struggle with.
@@richellebrittain2127 No just DA since is the most popular format.
@@JoelsterG4k Usually the "best" format is the original source; viewers usually have no control over that. If the original source audio is DTS-HD MA / DTS:X (like the vast majority of regular & many 4K Blu-rays) or multichannel PCM (many gaming consoles, some early 4K Blu-rays, all non-Atmos surround sound from the Apple TV 4K), but the TV doesn't support it for passthrough, that can degrade your audio no matter which audio format you prefer. Not everything is in Atmos.
@richellebrittain2127 I connected the xbox sx and ps5 and it worked with no issues, I also streamed movies from netflix and HBO max without any problems.
Wish they had HDMI 2.1 ports 😐
Edit: *Wish this TV was 120 HZ and had HDMI 2.1
It be nice but its a 60 hertz panel so no point
There's no point for hdmi 2.1 its only 60 hz
*Wish this TV was 120 HZ and had HDMI 2.1
The two people replying I’ll edit my comment to add more context on what I was trying to say lol
Wish it was a U7K.
Does this have smooth motion rate
Not for me it’s not good on app streaming
Lo podrías subir en tu otro canal en español?
Si lo subire en español.
Y cual es ese canal en español?
how's the 24p judder?
Please, is the Hisense U6K better than last year Hisense U8h.
It is a slight upgrade with mini led but if you already have the U6H I wouldn't worry.
@@JoelsterG4k thank you.
@@JoelsterG4k I have the u6g would it be worth an upgrade?
Is this tv 120hz
No, its 60hz.
@@JoelsterG4k does it has that smooth motion or soap opera effect
Hisense announced at this year's CES this would also be available in 50 inch. But they're not listing that size, saying it only goes down to 55. Did they cancel the 50' or are they waiting to release it this fall?
I don't know, hopefully they do release a 50" size as well, it's a popular size.
That's a perfect size for a bedroom; they need to do it.
