I never understood brake fade until I got my '28 with steel drums. I'm working up the bank account for the cast iron all around. I defend mechanical brakes in general, but I can't honestly defend my own in particular. Enjoy your videos. Thanks for posting them.
I have original steel drums on my 1931 Tudor that have probably been on there foreever. But it also has reinforcing bands on each drum. I've put 25,000 miles on my car and the brakes work just fine. Just sayin' ...

Thanks. My friend Les Andrews says the same thing. Iron dissipates the heat better, I live in a hilly area, so I'll be switching to iron soon.
Add to the problem that many have been turned. Making them thinner. Steel drums were meant to be replaced.
