How long this cement dry and ready for use? What’s the duration to let it dry completely and it says it can be used under water so I’m guessing no curing wait?

Hello. I was reading the post and my experience with this product was more than satisfying. It glued the rock better then i expected and i need to break it appart after sometime and its was very hard. The setting time depends on some factors Room temp and others. I mixed by eye not using mesure when it was mixed with consitence enough to handle by hand. To all my friends i recomend this product

I agree with Mike Reid, not that easy. Maybe if just stacking rock, although mine surely didn't set in 15minutes.
Want to create an arch? Forget about it. This stuff will just drip down any vertical application, or into the natural holes of your rock. Maddening.

Can I stick the rocks using stonefix inside the water I mean in the running tank

Vikas Dhoble thank You for your question. Not recommended but its possible. You should turn of all movement of water. Don't use too much product at one time. But most of all you should make a good consistency of stone fix. First try to do it out side as experience than do it inside of tank. It's not easy but many customers did that with success. Be prepared to support the rock that you will glue till the stone fix will be solid.

Hello I’m starting a new saltwater tank and I wondered if it would be better do make my scape with stone and the stone fix while the aquariums starting phase? Since there won’t be any corals or fish in?

Does it works on stones for a fresh water tank?

THIS is not as easy as it looks. I needed to take a break and go to school for engineering. At this point I'm just hoping they stay together.

Hi, can I glue wet rock outside of the tank or does the rock need to be completely dry?

    • @AquaforestEuAF
      @AquaforestEuAF  7 років тому

You can glue outside even if it will be wet.

Guys can I use tap water when mixing the cement? Or do I need to use RODI water?

    • @AquaforestEuAF

We recommend to use RODI water: ua-cam.com/video/zf-1RAG51R0/v-deo.html

Hello, if you need more time to apply it, just add more water, it will make the pasye thinnet, and give you more time to use it.

This is a bogus product. I should have read the comments before purchasing. The material never dries in 15 minutes not even in few hours. And after two days of time now when it’s dried, I filled the tank with water and it’s leaching and raising PH like hell. Did 4 water changes in 2 days but still not able to het it stable. Thank got it was a new tank setup and I didn’t pour saltwater or else it would have taken a toll on my salt as well purchased from AF. Please let me know when will the PH stabilise?

This stuff doesn’t work not even on small pieces of dry rocks

  • @damird9635

Maybe is something wrong with my batch, but..... Not great glue, consistency needs to be very thin, way thinner than in video, or in moment dry rock will absorb all the water from cement, and dry it, making it unusable. After 15 minutes, light movement of rock is possible, but again - not like this in video. Fully dry in my case after few hours, and strong enough, but not impossible to break, or remove dried glue from rock, simply lifting it with knife.
Way better is to use plain ceramic mortar, based on portland cement, it dries longer, 24hrs, but bonds better, little soaking in ro water to avoid ph raising, and it's good to go in tank.... And way cheaper...
Again, maybe there's problem with my bag, or something.....

My question: how to remove the glue from the rock if it is possible after drying ?

I love aquaforest products . But this is the worst thing I have ever used in this hobby
    EVER.
Left it for an hour and it was still wet . In a room with a temp of 22c .
Left over night and it was brittle.
Tried lots of different mixes and as instructions show and it all ends in the same .
Product is not out of date .
Spent all of today scrubbing all the cement off.

Super glue worked better and was much easier. I used this stuff and even after a few hours it would not be solid enough. Super glue and 10 minutes was able to pick up whole structure and set in tank. This would be good for filling in the gaps. I have used this on dry rock and it works great if you allow 24 to 48 hours and slather it in super thick. I was not impressed and I love aquaforest products.
I am considering using this for my bare bottom mixing with sand and patting more sand down then removing what didn't cement in. This will hold my structure in place taking care of the bottom curve, being able to clean better and easier coral placement. This will also allow bacteria to colonize still.

Its the second stone fix with the date 2017.03.28 that is braking apart after a hour of drying. Where is your quality chek? All my corals are out of the tank... The other one I used a half year earlier with another date on it had the same issue. I am frustrated and angry...Why cant you make a better quality chek, it is so hard to take a sample and see if it is hardening? After an hour it is still soft, the consistency was fine like in your video so pls dont come with that.

MrBrownbug sorry to hear that you Has this problem. However please note that stone fix has date of expiration one year after the production date. This information is in the notice. If you bought outdated product please contact the store that sold you this product.

Thank you for your answer, but I am not the only one. Please se the link pasteboard.co/HwIXwav.png, just started a post on the bigest salt water reefers group in Hungary. The productiond date is 2017-12-12 and that is not expired. Also the first time I bought 2 stone fix with different dates was also not expired. One was good the other not. So your answer is partial wright.

Non toxic but don’t use X amount over X time and rinse thoroughly with special water. Doesn’t sound very non toxic to me. I’ll stick with the tried and true, and cheaper, filter and super glue thanks.
