Nice work on the snorkel 👌 I’ve seen some failed installs from lack of guide and inexperience! Perhaps something like a Safari would have been better for connecting pipework!?
Appreciate your comment mate! You definitely get that “here goes nothing” moment when drilling, even after all the preliminary research and checks. Before buying this snorkel, I did carefully compare all parts to the Safari model, and the only difference I could see was the branding. Same ram head/water separator and exactly same connective pipes. As mentioned in video, essentially the same but a lot cheaper.
hi mate, great video and lovely truck. You have inspired me to paint my wheel arches in bed liner too, looks ace. I want to know though, how on earth did you fit this snorkel to your air box?!?!? i have the same kit and the same airbox as you. I believe its the airbox type that pdf states the kit wont fit, looks like you have the same box too.
Hey buddy thanks very much for your comment and glad its encouraged you to paint the wheel arches! Would definitely use Raptor Liner if you can, gives the best results and more unique than the plastic fenders most trucks bolt on! With getting the snorkel kit to fit onto the original airbox, you'll have to make some alterations to supplied connecting pipes. Use the short S shaped hose, the one with a little flex, you'll notice it will be too long to fit onto the inlet of airbox, so cut it down, I found cutting it down gradually and test fitting it was the best approach. In the end I only would about 4 inches of that pipe. You'll also notice the diameter of the same pipe is circular anf the inlet of the airbox is more rectangle, to compensate for any gaps in not marrying up well enough, I used flexible adhesive silicon around the inlet to airbox and some on the internal wall of the cut down hose. The installation instructions recommend silicon on the other adjoining snorkel pipework, to prevent any air loss and water ingress. I hope how I've explained the modifications will be helpful in your own install! All the best
@@The4x4WindowCleaner thank you mate, appreciate you getting back to me. I'm actually just going to do away with all the fitting hardware and make my own. I've bought some 85mm silicone piping to go from the snorkel and a 100mm to 80mm steel reducer to go on the airbox. waiting for it all to be delivered so fingers crossed in all works.. were abouts in the country are you located?
Thanks for your comment Jon! I can definitely say there’s been a few mpg gained since the install. The tests also show a snorkel will improve engine induction/breathing so should reduce fuel consumption.
Great video. Thanks for sharing
Great looking truck and helpful video!
Many thanks 🙏

Hi again buddy, sounds like you’ve got it worked out! I’m sure it will work a treat, especially with the reducer. I’m down in SE of the UK.
So the snorkel does improve gas mileage??
Thanks for your comment Jon!
