Nick Arcade would definitely work for today and today's viewers. It was definitely awesome and ahead of its time when it originally aired, and today's virtual reality can really make it just as awesome these days.

In July of 1995, my mother took me and my brother to Universal Studios theme park in Orlando. I kid you not, the day we went was the first day Nickelodeon was filming Global Guts, because in the park were many groups of children from different countries. I remember wanting to get tickets for it.
Michael Gwisdala It's a damn shame they're not around anymore because that would make Orlando very well worth visiting today. Now everything Nickelodeon related is in fucking L.A. and I am not the least bit surprised. SMDH
The only problem with this list is where is supermarket sweep?!?!?! But other than that I’m surprised y’all gave so much love to the Kid classics like nick arcade, hidden temple and Carmen San Diego
Good choices on most of these! I actually got to meet Nick Arcade host Phil Moore last January at MAGFest and he hosted a couple versions of it which were a ton of fun! As much as I like Weakest Link, I hate how when it gets down to 3 or 4 players that the Strongest Link gets voted off so you may have to play some strategy by getting some questions wrong on purpose so you don't get voted off. A couple game shows I would've liked to see on this list is Greed (1999-2000) hosted by Chuck Woolery which was a phenomenal competitor to Millionaire. That high stakes show has the most intensity that I can think of. The other is Twenty-One. Despite its scandal back in the 50s, it had a short lived revival in 2000 which was as fun as Millionaire and Greed.
The Weakest Link needs to be revived... I’m not from the UK, but I seen parts of the US version when Anne was there and clips on UA-cam when she was savage with comebacks.
The Weakest Link cracked me up🤣 Yes! No question and the same to Carmen Sandiego. Preferably based of of the software TREASURES OF KNOWLEGE W.I.T and ThinkQuick Challenge all those cutscenes were cinematic lighting!😳🤗🙌👌
I liked the later format for "Scrabble": every show was a self-contained, four-player tournament. And some of the clues were hilarious. "Next word, seven letters: Miss Piggy does it in the tub." "Sale of the Century" was another one from Reg Grundy that holds up well. The format was fairly straightforward, but the high-gloss presentation of it--the formal wear on the models, the staggered contestant intros, the high-tech yet surprisingly down-to-earth set--stood out.

I agree with Where in The world is Carmen sandiego. I think i remember watching a video of Greg Lee being interviewed recently, and one of the questions was that if there were to be a revival and he got a call, he said "That would be cool!"
Press Your Luck made a comeback in the early 2000's on GSN with Todd Newton as host. One of my favourite features was the 'Double Whammy' where not only did the contestant lose all their money, the contestant had things dumped on such as grass clippings and leaves for example. One of my favourites was the pizza dough that landed on the contestant's head. There should be another revival of Hollywood Squares and maybe Card Sharks. Other shows that should make a comeback in my opinion would be: The Jokers Wild, Tic Tac Dough, Name that Tune, and I think it has been mentioned - Lingo.
It's made a legitimate comeback once again in 2019 and is still going strong today in 2023 with Elizabeth Banks as host. But this time it has fully remained faithful to the original from the 80s as far as bringing back the old style. It is generally the exact same gameplay but with an hour-long format, a new bonus game has been added in which the winning contestant of the main game advances solo in the bonus round to play for a million dollars. They even recently added a "Big 40" space to commemorate the 40th anniversary of PYL's 1983 debut!!!
I should have posted a couple of years back that Name That Tune returned on Fox with Jane Krakowski as the host and former American Idol judge Randy Jackson as the bandleader.
The British children's entertainment channel CBBC has also had a multitude of incredibly fun gameshows back in the day. Of the ones that I saw, I think my 5 favourite are as follows: 1) BamZooki/BamZooki Street Rules - somewhat similar to Robot Wars, BattleBots, Robotica etc, a varying number of teams (2 for BamZooki, 4 for Street Rules) compete against each other using CGI creatures, or Zooks, using a piece of proprietary design/3D modelling software built by the BBC. In the original run, 2 teams built 4 Zooks each, all usually designed with different purposes in mind to compete in the various games played, including strength trials, straight races, slaloms and the ever-popular Zook In A China Shop - in which the objective is to knock over as many sticks as possible. Hosted by ex-Formula 1 commentator Jake Humphrey In Street Rules, 4 teams all brought one all-purpose Zook with them to compete not only against the other teams, but also the House Zooks, designed to be incredibly tough to beat in their respective fields, such as the incredibly strong Centi (a centipede Zook) or the racing twins Punker and Punkalicious, and who were occaisionally used in different games, including destruction derbies, Zook Sumo, games of chicken, and 2 races to bookend the show. Hosted by comedians Barney Harwood and Gemma Hunt. 2) 50/50 - the largest-scale gameshow on this mini-list, 50/50 saw two groups of 50 children (numbered 1 through 50) from primary schools up and down the country compete in a combination test of brains and physical prowess for points, with all team members being picked at random. The immense studio was designed to accomodate the ridiculous inflatable games used, such as The Rollometer, which saw contestants stand on an unstable platform attempting to grab points markers, The Fly, in which one contestant would be harnessed to the roof, use suction cups provided to them by their team-mates (who had to navigate an obstacle course in order to hand them off) to reach the other side of the studio and open their pyramid first, and The Avalanche, in which the two teams would relay-race from one end of an inflatable mountain range to the other and press their own coloured plunger repeatedly to score points, with dotted through the forest of snowy stalagmites representing bonus points the contestants could collect if they had the reach. Presented over the years by Sally Gray, Angelica Bell and finally Sophie McDonnell. 3) Get Your Own Back - perhaps one of the silliest gameshows CBBC has ever aired, this gameshow was aimed at kids wishing to exact harmless revenge on an older acquaintance of theirs - be it an older sibling, parent, teacher or coach - who causes annoyance to them throughout their day-to-day life. The various physical games present within the show are always designed in such a way that the adults of each team are actively trying to stop the children from scoring points during them. For example, in the game Good Vibrations, the child would be trying to balance framed records on a wall which contained a subwoofer, through which the sound of the adult singing karaoke as loudly as they could would project, shaking the wall and causing the framed records to fall. Alternatively, in Shower Power, the children would take buckets of gunge through an obstacle course and pour it into the respective team bucket, whilst the adults, dressed in shower gear, would attempt to scoop out as much gunge as possible. The team with the most gunge in their team buckets would have their adult showered. All this was preparation for the final game played, The Gunk Dunk, in which the adults would be sat in mechanical chairs that would ascend to a pre-determined height - but only if the children could answer various trivia questions correctly. Incidentally, the team with the most points got a head-start, meaning their adult had less distance to travel before reaching the top. The first team to reach the top would be declared the winner, prizes would be handed out to the winning child, and the adult in the chair, assisted by a mechanism released by the child, would hurtle back down the climb and be thrown into a gunge tank. Hosted by Dave Benson-Phillips and (alongside him in later seasons) Lisa Brockwell. 4) Brainjitsu - A gameshow that doubled up as an education on the brain, Brainjitsu saw 8 competitors, or "brainees" overcome various tasks that required the use of different parts of their brains, with one contestant being eliminated per round, each themed around the coloured belts of rank commonplace in far-Eastern martial arts. These challenges included quickly counting coloured chopsticks, walking an obstacle course while trying to balance a large container of coloured water on their head (with beakers at the end equating saved water to seconds knocked off their total time), having to try and memorize patterns while being spun repeatedly and being told to cross a narrow platform, or having to navigate a buzz-wire with the ring attached to a helmet. The final challenge would see the two remaining competitors put on special headbands which would measure their brainwaves for focus. The more focus they generated, the more electrical signal they would generate into a special track to move a ping-pong ball to their opponent's side to score a goal. The best of three would win the gameshow overall. Hosted by Simon Greenall, the current voice of Alexandr Orlov, the meerkat mascot of the Compare The Market adverts. 5) Splatalot - a show filmed in Canada, and co-produced by Canadian, British and Australian children's TV (as well as hosted by three sets of presenters), the format is rather similar to Total Wipeout, but with a more medieval theme and involving magnitudes more gunge. 12 contestants (or Attackers) would attempt to assault Castle Splatalot and declare themselves its new ruler, whilst having to dodge the various themed guards (or Defenders) protecting the castle, split up into three colour-and-nationality-coordinated groups of thee - the Orange (Canadian) guards Tinkor, Ballista and Gildar, the Blue (British) guards Thorne, Shaiden and Knightriss and finally the Green (Australian) guards Crocness, Skabb and Kookaburra (all information correct as of Season 1) The action would be split up into three rounds, each eliminating a number of competitors based on that game's objective. Round 1 (Cross The Moat) is a semi-waterborne time trial in which each contestant must successfully navigate a series of obstacles that could see them have to waste time swimming to the next ladder should they fall off, as well as being guarded by three Defenders. Such obstacles included the Rolling Mace - a quickly rotating platform with large obtrusions blocking the path, and from which contestants would be shot at with tennis balls by some of the Defenders, or the Rope Bridge Of Disaster, a large rope-net construct with open sides for contestants to fall off (again they must avoid being shot at). The six fastest contestants progress to Round 2 (Ditch The Dungeon). The remaining contestants now compete directly against each other to construct ladders from rungs strewn across the dungeon, and also to navigate a giant, hexagonal, rotating centrepiece. 3 different Defenders now spray gunge all around the dungeon to make the conditions very slippery. The first four up their escape ladders progress to the final round - Capture The Crown. Another direct race with another series of obstacles, all six Defenders from the previous two rounds now attempt to stop each attacker from progressing past each obstacle - such as the Titanic Teeter-Totters (cylindrical see-saws), Barrier Of All Barriers (a totally smooth, floating barrier the Attackers must climb over by jumping from the Titanic Teeter-Totters) and the final Water Wall (two ladders down which large volumes of water will pour). The overall winner is the first contestant to make it past all the obstacles and put the Splatalot Crown on their head. Presented by Jason Agnew & Matt Chin (Canada), Richard McCourt & Dominic Wood, aka Dick & Dom (UK), and Kayne Tremills & Scott Tweedie (Australia)
Whodunnit was a reality show, and granted they chose the worst contestants for it (in the American version, at least). But, that's a show I miss as well, one of the last times I actively followed a show on a weekly basis and didn't wait until the season was completely over to watch it; that being said, the show seemed very fake.
I loved Legends of the Hidden Temple I used to watch it every morning whenever I visited my grandparents because they had Dish and it had channels like Boomerang and their old shows, oh how I miss them, happy grade school era memories
Some of the game shows I would like to see back on TV are: 1.Tic-Tac Dough 2.Bullseye 3.Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? 4.The Joker's Wild 5.The Weakest Link
There was MILLION DOLLAR PASSWORD a number of years ago, hosted by Regis Philbin. And the late Allen Ludden's (Original host) wife, Betty White was on that show!
That incarnation couldn't hardly be described as Password. Whomever put it together ignored the entire blueprint of the game. it was nothing more than an elongated Lightning Round. That's exactly what it should've been called to - Lightening Round.
I wouldn't mind seeing Supermarket Sweep again. I also somewhat enjoyed Brainrush and Destroy Build Destroy when it was on Cartoon Network, although those are more action/sports-ish types of shows.
Lingo, Dog eat Dog, Friend or Foe, Russian Roulette, Card Sharks, Match Game (which they have tried and have failed) Press Your Luck, and Whammy the All New Press Your Luck, basically anything that was on the game show network in the 2000s needs to come back!!
My request for another Supermarket sweep request is comparing the Leslie Jones version with the 90's version, and then top 10 bonuses and ways to earn as much as possible on the big sweep.
Going for a more unsung format long overdue for a revival: 'Split Second', a quiz show co-created by Monty Hall (the original host of 'Let's Make a Deal') in 1971. The original series ran from '71 to '74 on the ABC network, then was later hosted by Hall in 1986 in syndication for one season. Gameplay's as follows: Three contestants participate in three rounds in the front game. Each question presented has no fewer than three possible answers (such as "Name the actor who played James Bond in these movies: 'Tomorrow Never Dies'; 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service'; '"The Living Daylights'"). All three players get a shot at answering different parts of the same question, but their speed when ringing in determines the order in which they answer (fastest player answering first). The first two rounds operate with a one-answer-per-player rule as the players earn as much cash as possible (which they keep, win or lose). The third round ("Countdown Round") tasks the contestants with providing a given number of answers (highest scorer needing the fewest), and, provided they don't stumble, contestants are now allowed to answer all three parts of the same question. The first player to fulfill their quota wins the game and an opportunity to win a new car.
I’d add Sale of the Century, Classic Concentration, and Blockbusters to the honorable mentions. If Sale retains the 80’s look, sound, and format (no Temptation revisit please), it definitely has potent.
I agree with so many of these! ^_^ Double Dare, Carmen Sandiego, Press Your Luck, they were all great shows. I would also add What's My Line. Classic Concentration would be great too, but they couldn't do it the same way they did it in the 1980s, all those cars and prizes would be insanely expensive for running a show today.
Infinite yes to Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego. It blows my mind that The Learning Company hasn't made an updated tablet version of the old WITWICS Deluxe DOS game. I would sit in a library and play that for days.
Nickelodeon was an awesome channel for kids' game shows and I am so glad they're bringing back "Double Dare" this summer! The 90s kid in me is going crazy!
I personally would love to see an American version of the Brits' "Fifteen to One." The original concept was "Twenty to One," but the BBC wanted a 30-minute format. A theoretical "Twenty to One" might actually work as a limited-run summer event. Figure six weeks, that would be 30 episodes, enough to have sidelines, but not so long that it gets unwieldy. And after that, who knows? That's exactly how "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" took off, starting as a limited run in the summer of 1999.
Ahhhhhhh Nick Arcade! One of the best game shows of my life! Never a dull moment................Well except one. Every time someone picked Sonic The Hedgehog 2 and DIDNT KNOW HOW TO PLAY!!!!!!!
I know it's been forgotten with time, but a game show that could really benefit from a revival is Whew! Such a shame it choked in the ratings. It was a LOT of fun.
The Australian version of 'The Weakest Link' went for a few years. A lot of us would ask for a game show called "Amazing" to return. Kids are challenged to spelling, look and find in a maze and a competitive video game challenge to earn the chance to run the maze for keys. One key would win them video game system (mostly gameboys, which were new at the time). Early 90's Australia would want Vidiot. Music, movie and television trivia, where each player had a line from their choice of song as their buzzer, as well as a musical or television celebrity asking questions for a round.
People, we know Double Dare is coming back. WatchMojo sometimes does videos on new information that happens or is found out. So that's why this list was made. They wanted to list 'other' shows that should be revived.
Australia had an awesome kids show in the 90s called A*Mazing where 2 teams had to spell out a word on a giant keyboard on the floor, play Super Mario Brothers or Super Mario Kart on the SNES and then the winning team would run through what looked like a kind of pirate ship interior maze and find hidden letters and keys to win. This show needs a 2nd chance.
I think they just announced a Double Dare revival. Anyway, I agree on Press Your Luck and The Weakest Link, but I also think Blockbusters and Dotto need to make a comeback. Blockbusters was a much bigger hit in the UK than in the States, but I liked the combination of word puzzles with physical ones. Dotto was a casualty of the quiz show scandals in the 50s, but unlike many of the other shows involved, it never got much of a revival. Also, a return of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire in its original format with its original question values. ITV is set to do a seven-episode revival, but I'd like to see a full one here in America.
I agree, weakest link should come back, but who could have such sharp tongue like Anne Robinson? 8:09 Like what. Hollywood Squares just a honorable mention? *_YOU FOOL!_*
Greed should be on the lists since it includes a lot of surveys and studies. One game that should come back and I felt was great is Cram. Where contestants stayed up for a full day somewhere to learn a whole bunch of things, go to the game show and if they win, they go to"bed" while a lady reads to them what would be in the final round.
I feel like Hollywood Squares deserves a place in the countdown, not just an honorable mention. There are new celebrities who would be funny to see on it. maybe a part 2 of this episode is in order some time in the not-to-distant future.
While Press Your Luck got a 2002-3 reboot, the new board and play rules weren't quite the same, and I wasn't fond of the Double Whammy. I would have been fine with the Double Whammy IF (and only IF) the contestants were younger...A proper redo would be with the old school Big Board (adjusted for technology advances). And Press Your Luck was a reboot itself of the 1977 game show Second Chance...
Anyone remember Dog eat Dog?
Chamushgoo I’ve been wanting this show to come back so bad!!
Love that show. Too bad season 2 didn't have the stripping challenges.
Yep, the British version was better the American version, so if the show comes back I want the American version to be more like the British version because as US citizen myself I honestly I hated the American version for being over the top with very crazy games
I do and I miss it alot.
Chamushgoo I watched mainly because of the host lol.
Yeah when the M in MTV actually stood for music.
Headbangers Ball, Yo! MTV Raps...the days when MTV was the shit.
Now, it's miscellaneous.
Now it stands for "Meh"

J Crash what denial I haven't stated anything and the fact that you continue to assume shows that it is you who is the one who is butt hurt for being called out for being insecured, and thanks for proving that fact!
Legends of the Hidden Temple was the best show on tv
@J Crash well it's a matter of opinions and i don't care about your's
Fun fact: Press Your Luck was itself a redux, the original dating back to the mid-late 70's and was called Second Chance.
Win, Lose or Draw isn't Sharades then... it's Pictionary...
DryBones271 There was one called Body Language. It should also come back
I DEFINITELY agree with bringing back The Weakest Link and Legends of the Hidden Temple!!
The Weakest Link is back Hosted by Jane Lynch
Anybody remember the gameshow Russian Roulette? I'd love to see that come back.
Nick Johnson just seeing people falling down into holes was glorious
I remember that one. That, and Friend or Foe?. Both of those game shows were ones I loved watching as a teen.
I've met the host of Russian roulette he's a pretty cool guy. He came to my City to host the price is right tour.
i don't know if it would count as a game show but the mole was really good too
Family Feud Classics He would make the joke I know you guys were expecting Mark Wahlberg but I'm with an L.
Nick Arcade would definitely work for today and today's viewers. It was definitely awesome and ahead of its time when it originally aired, and today's virtual reality can really make it just as awesome these days.
BUT it's not as good as "Starcade" or "Video Power".
Video and arcade top 10 was better
@@Rlotpir1972Starcade sounds familiar...wasn't that a show from the '80s where a bunch of kids were playing arcade games?
@@Barber747 All ages. Adult contestants also competed.
I'm absolutely OBSESSED with "The Weakest Link!!!!"
I watch OLD Episodes on UA-cam, ALL THE TIME! ;-)
Little does everyone here know that Press Your Luck, Card Sharks and the Weakest Link have returned to ABC and NBC as of November 2020 with episodes every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday Night.
Ah I love Legends of the Hidden Temple, and Nick Arcade. You forgot about Figure It Out with Summer Sanders. You should've had that on the list.
Nick Arcade and Legends of the hidden temple better be on here!
Don't worry, they are! Did you hear Nick is bringing back "Double Dare" this summer! BIG WIN for that channel right there!
3:50 Watchmojo, you forgot Press Your Luck had a short-lived reboot called Whammy in the 2000s.
I might be mistaken, but the host of the syndicated version of Weakest Link would eventually go on to be the current announcer for The Price Is Right.
I miss Greed! Definitely my favorite cooperative game show.
Weakest link 🙌 defo the best one
With Anne of course😈😈😈
Wait wait double dare is already coming back this summer
Vonta Day I heard they probably did this before the news came out.
Vonta Day I just heard about that today. It sounds promising
yup! and i hope Marc Summers will host again but i doubt it
Marc is the announcer in the new version.
They already brought back Press Your Luck in 2002 The show was called Whammy aka the all new Press Your Luck. It only lasted two seasons.
What a coincidence, because Double Dare was just confirmed having 40 new episodes this summer yesterday!
Now can LOTHT do the same :3
Double Dare is also part of the Fremantle family.
What about guts
Do ya have it?
Global Guts!

In Street Rules, 4 teams all brought one all-purpose Zook with them to compete not only against the other teams, but also the House Zooks, designed to be incredibly tough to beat in their respective fields, such as the incredibly strong Centi (a centipede Zook) or the racing twins Punker and Punkalicious, and who were occaisionally used in different games, including destruction derbies, Zook Sumo, games of chicken, and 2 races to bookend the show.
12 contestants (or Attackers) would attempt to assault Castle Splatalot and declare themselves its new ruler, whilst having to dodge the various themed guards (or Defenders) protecting the castle, split up into three colour-and-nationality-coordinated groups of thee - the Orange (Canadian) guards Tinkor, Ballista and Gildar, the Blue (British) guards Thorne, Shaiden and Knightriss and finally the Green (Australian) guards Crocness, Skabb and Kookaburra (all information correct as of Season 1)
The action would be split up into three rounds, each eliminating a number of competitors based on that game's objective. Presented by Jason Agnew & Matt Chin (Canada), Richard McCourt & Dominic Wood, aka Dick & Dom (UK), and Kayne Tremills & Scott Tweedie (Australia)
double dare was just revived, should've put Whodunnit or something in it's place.
If Card Sharks is returned it must focus on the classic rules in the first two runs.
Some of the game shows I would like to see back on TV are:
1.Tic-Tac Dough
2.Bullseye
3.Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?
4.The Joker's Wild
5.The Weakest Link
Silent library???
Damnit, the nostalgia... MTV lost alot of great shows... damn...
love that show! Zero Kazama was great
Thanks for the memories
Nick had great game shows and wish they would come back. Figure It Out was also one of my absolute favorites.
Figure it Out was a copycat of "What's My Line?" and "I've Got a Secret".
Video and Arcade Top 10 from YTV. You're welcome. ESports is a thing so they should bring this back
Why isn't Password on this list? It should'vebeen either Number One or two!
LeroyBright Also no one every won the million.
I found out lynne thigpen did die. She was the chief in where in the world is carmen sandiego.
Thomas Murphy She's been dead. She passed back in 2003...
I wouldn't mind seeing Supermarket Sweep again. I also somewhat enjoyed Brainrush and Destroy Build Destroy when it was on Cartoon Network, although those are more action/sports-ish types of shows.
Awesome list. Nick Arcade was my absolute favorite growing up!
I would like a reboot of Finders Keepers, Think Fast, Tic Tac Dough (they did reboot Joker's Wild), Guts, Supermarket Sweep, Fun House
Where's Supermarket Sweep
it's coming...soon
Whammy, Lingo (3rd chance?), Russian Roulette, & Weakest Link are my picks.
Agree with all execpt Lingo, though I enjoyed it in the time that it aired, I see no reason for a comeback.
Press Your Luck technically came back as Whammy for a bit XD (Game Show nerd over here)
Double Dare is coming back. And well-deserved too.
I’d add Sale of the Century, Classic Concentration, and Blockbusters to the honorable mentions. If Sale retains the 80’s look, sound, and format (no Temptation revisit please), it definitely has potent.
CBunye Kind of like how The $100,000 Pyramid nailed it!
Double Dare, Press Your Luck, Remote Control and Beat the Geeks were my absolute favorites.
The Weakest Link is back in 2020. I recommend watching it! Also, Double Dare and Press Your Luck came back.
Nick Arcade and Legends of the Hidden Temple definitely deserve a reboot
How about Scrabble, Make The Grade or even, dare I say it, Classic Concentration. I grew up in the 80s and every channel had game shows!
A Press Your Luck revival failed once, it would fail again. as much as i love that show, it wouldn't work now
You forgot we had Whammy!
About Double Dare... It is coming back, they announced out a few months back
Perfect timing cause they announced yesterday that Double Dare will be coming back this summer.
Nick is bringing back Double Dare this summer.
The 'name' Double Dare is now part of the Fremantle family.
Rock & Roll Jeopardy!, Brainsurge, Figure It Out, Merv Griffin's Crowsswords, and Whew!
We need a reboot of Super Password. It's the purest of the classic games.
Loved all of them even the HM's. Bring them all back please. Although Double Dare has been confirmed as making a comeback later this summer.
Finders Keepers from 90's Nick was also a really fun show! But, I would definitely love to see Nick Arcade Return!
Good list, although Fun House should've been on there!
Nickelodeon actually just recently announced that they’re gonna bring back Double Dare.
If Gilbert Gottfried was in a revival, that would make audiences side hurt so much because of how hard they'd laugh their asses off!
Wow all these gameshows need to come back. Some of my list includes supermarket sweep, Guts, Cardsharks, and figure it out.
Press your luck * had a revival called Whammy
1 vs. 100 should be on this list. I loved that show.
Double Dare is coming back this summer!!!! I'm excited for this
Hey Watchmojo, some game shows on this list has been revived. Double Dare, Card sharks, press your luck.
Double Dare is actually making a comeback this summer
For adults, bring back Greed, such a great short-lived game show. For kids, bring back Guts and Global Guts.
