Green leaf: I'm pretty sure Fex explains them but someone who played it does. This is an ACTION game, not an RPG, per the devs. You earn skills and abilities through quests and bosses, not experience that goes into stats or a skill tree. All your progression is gear and acquiring skills from quests/bosses. There is no leveling up in this game. Each skill probably has a different cast cost so it seems each leaf is an "action point" for special abilities. I'm pretty sure Fex says that too. So I think it's fairly certain those are special skill points. I just can't figure out how they are earned. Seems fairly random but guessing there is a combo system that gives you points back.
I think Pearl Abyss uses Prince of Persia as an inspiration too. The jump with the sword attack is inspired by a similar one in the sands of time trilogy. That is very nice!
This game "looks" great, but the more gameplay I see, the more I'm concerned that the world is all just backdrop and empty, kind of like Ubisoft games where the environments look great but they are just there to look at. Kiff runs and rides for like five minutes and there is nothing to collect, no side quest pop up, no dynamic events. I'm worried the actually content in this game is just a boss rush with a giant empty open world. I hope I'm wrong but I'm getting very very worried this game is mostly window dressing.
