Good to hear those things go on in other small towns. We had a blast darkening town here. (Northern Utah) But the local Sherrif didn’t appreciate us doing that.

They still had the six cylinder options in '55, the 235 and 265. I like this one a lot. Back in '76 when I was 16 and just got my license, I had the choice of a '55 Chevy two-door like yours for $250 and all it needed was a headliner. The other car was a powder blue '63 and 1/2 Ford Galaxie 500 XL for $225. They were both sitting in a junk yard. I chose the Galaxie since it was $25 cheaper.
I was born 30 years late , but I love hearing stories from the good old days!

Under taillights in rear. Notice V8 emblems. Probably had V8. Originally.
I believe the 6 cyl was a "Blue Streak", same motor that came in the first Corvettes.
