Well said. Many thought highly of Steve Lawson. I preferred to hear MacArthur and Sproul. It’s unfortunate that he has disqualified himself from church leadership now but there are faithful pastors who will step up. May we all have a little grace to understand.
Actually, I found Lawson to be a far superior preacher, expositor, and explainer than MacArthur. I have no clue who ever let Sproul in a pulpit to preach--horrible preacher. But Lawson was so demeaning of anyone who did not agree with him. Judgemental to the highest degree and he deserves to be dragged through the mud publicly!

She and her children and grandchildren are who we should be praying for. Steve brought it upon himself, but the wife did nothing to deserve this.

I appreciate your graciousness, Sir! I would like to ask anyone, be it in the leadership or In the congregation who is pure to please stand up. We are under in construction and our sinful nature is always trying to resuscitate itself,. Paul said, in Rom 7:21-25 Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. What a wretched man I am ! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death.? Thanks be to God , who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord. Through Christ alone is our only Hope!!!!
VERY well stated. As James 3:1 states “ you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness” . When we put someone on a pedestal we can be assured that sooner or later we will be disappointed. Our ultimate example ought to be Christ. Praying for genuine repentance to take place.
I wish there wasn't so much secrecy especially in this era of child abuse. We need a full accounting of him and those around him that should have known something
That is an interesting proposal. If there was nothing legally abusive I don't know if that would be necessary except for the sake of ministries so as to help their people with such marriage issues? I don't need to know.
Thankfully God is not a Calvinist but a loving Father so there is hope for all. God will judge us all but his judgement is always life through restorative punishment (kolasis). Anyone who falls into sin we are to gently but firmly restore by prayer and bearing each other's burdens. Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the Sin of the World.

No one of Christian maturity idolises thier pastor or any other minister in Christendom, so for you to jump on the bandwagon with your thoughts on your great respect for this man is perhaps your issue to deal with, pastor Lawson didn't just fall over into sin, no one just falls into adultery, there's a slide before a fall and in this case it means there's been a level of deception as it appears pastor Laeson preached only last week, I'm glad he's come forward and resigned, rather than being sacked but the damage he's done to his immediate family, church family and the wider body of Christ is great I would say. There are guard rails in place for men in ministry he has obviously not practised and obviously the deceit that has been uncovered now is very sad, my heart goes out to his wife and children, such a fall from such a man is devastating ❤❤❤😢
@judithdabrow9843 A lot of people held Lawson in the same regard as MacArthur or Sproul and others seem to have seen a little arrogance or pride there. I don’t think anyone idolized Lawson but many certainly felt his teaching was on point and doctrinally sound. That’s what makes it tough for them. I suppose everyone will wonder why he didn’t reach out to the resources around him like McArthur and others as he was pulled into the relationship. It’s just very tragic for some of his followers.
Nobody falls into adultery, as you wrote. The others, RC Sproul, John McArthur, Paul Washer are Calvinists too. They reject free will. They do not preach the gospel.
I completely agree with you. I think there is too much "super pastor" worship in our country. Where I disagree is in saying he had a fall into sin. These pastors are just people like you and me. Do you really think this was his first sin? Or fall from grace. Likely instead he was caught in this sin. We have to stop acting like this is some kind of lightning bolt out of the blue.
Thanks for your thoughts. On fall - I just see that as a common expression among Christians that does not describe any sort of process but merely as a serious act of willful sin that can be in some situation a rejection of God or ruin their witness etc
These pastors and teachers tell us all the time walk in the spirit and you will not satisfy the flesh seems to me something is wrong with their spirit they are not walking in the spirit do as I say not as I do that’s what I see
In the New Testament, no one was given the formal title "Pastor." Leadership in the early church was shared among elders, overseers, and apostles, with an emphasis on mutual service rather than hierarchy. The Greek word for "pastor" (poimen) appears only once in Ephesians 4:11, where it refers to a spiritual gift, not a formal office or title. The early church gatherings were Spirit-led, with various members contributing as they were led by the Holy Spirit, rather than being centered around a single individual in authority. When someone today calls themselves "Pastor" and assumes a dominant role, it can create an inappropriate relationship, shifting the focus away from the participatory and Spirit-led nature of the early church. This can lead to a hierarchy that diminishes the equal standing of all believers and neglects the New Testament’s model of collective, Spirit-led worship.
If Eternal Life is a Gift why do churches reject this? Faith Alone is through out the Bible. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be Saved. Acts 16:31kjv For the wages of sin is death, But the Gift of God is Eternal Life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Roman's 6:23kjv
