Un mondo dove tutti si vogliono bene , dove si balla , dove c’è sole e mare , dove non si lavora , ma si vive sempre in vacanza anche se pur lavorando . Tipo fare il vino , il formaggio e dove gli animali non si uccidono , dove non esistono allevamenti intensivi , ma solo natura . Tutto questo lo immagino con queste canzoni così …. Yes, they are fun to play/sing at weddings etc to celebrate life, continuity of the human species etc, played in their traditional style. Butcwhen Italian migrants go to other cultures, like the Anglo US or Australia, they add bits of their new world culture eg American jazz that goes well with Italian folkloric music, or even the odd bit of rapping, which goes well with the traditional Roman style 'Stornellao', where singers have a good public bitching session about their spouses, neighbours or whatever is inking them, like US rappers do. Some US rock music and also some Aussie skittle type stuff goes well mixed with Italian folkloric music. That's why it sounds so good when ex pat Italian migrants do a different version of these old c songs, often add a sense of humour to them, changing th e beat etc. The folk music is old, but it's themes never change. They are just as relevant now as they were centuries ago when these old folk songs were first created, by ordinary n ary everyday workers, peasants etc. It never ceases to amaze me that, like some good rock and blues artists in Anglo Cu I sure, such simple, humble folk working at manual labour Jo's in fields, factories etc, could come with such creativity. They had no education, no music or ballet lessons or vocal coaches. Yet their songs/dances were inspirations for much of the world's great c basically ie refined music, ballets and artistically refined culture.

I remember my drunken father singing this to me as a little girl...And getting mean looks from my mother, before it degenerated into an argument over how he was raising her only daughter. But I liked it... This sort of musical racket went on n on stop at our house and other migrants from elsewhere in Europe would drop round with their inst5uments and add to the fun, singing, dancing playin, out in the Aussie bush, out middle of nowhere. Unto the Australians complained about 'wog music'. We invited them to join the party but a they wanted to do was fight. So, there were a few fights, too...
Mother knows best when it comes to making humans, but Father thinks he had something to do with this perpetuation of the human species business, too and also knows a thing or two about how she did it all. It's a song celebrating mothers, fathers, their beautiful children, in this song, pretty daughters, but it could also apply to beautiful little sons. It's about perpetuation of the human race through the generations. Hard to explain in English, but some Anglo rock songs capture a similar theme....
