Death Metal like this can be hard to get into. It can be important to remember this kind of stuff is meant to be over the top ridiculous. Even so it is not for everybody. Very brave of you to dive into a band like Cannibal Corpse.
It takes mad yt balls to put that album art up on the thumbnail lmfao mad respect, im sure some 8 year old who looked up heavy metal got his whole world shook up lmfao
Have been on the front row for many shows. Watching them actually play this fast is life changing. I would see them before ANYBODY else ever. It's f&$#ing worth it. Best wishes.
Respect for giving it a listen, you gotta start somewhere with death metal, and although this is too much to start off with, it's cool you did this...the more listens the better it gets
I was 11 years old when I first heard em and it was Hammer Smashed Face. At first I thought, what the fuck is this. Few listens later I was like this is what I was looking for. 26 years old today, I'm seeing them live next friday. 21st April at Manchester UK. Can't fucking wait
Thanks for the full album reaction! Yeah, this music definitely isn’t for everyone. They are very skilled musicians and don’t get enough credit for their skills outside of Death Metal fans.
I recommend you should react to Gallery of Suicide album(1998) with Corpsegrinder in his second albums after a Vile album(1996). It's has a lot of Evil Riffs There and It's has a instrumental song - From Skin to Liquid - Great song imo.
After 40+ years being into this genre, Cannibal Corpse does it best...each different line up is brutal af... We tape traded in the 80s, and would try to top each other for having the heaviest tape to trade...then trying to find the heaviest music during the Satanic Panic made it addictive because you could piss off your entire town wearing the Eaten Back To Life shirt lol
7th grade. I managed to sneak a copy of the “The Bleeding” into my house when I went with my friend to the Blockbuster music. Prior to this I thought Metallica was the heaviest thing I had ever heard and that album changed my life. I knew this is what I wanted my guitar to sound like., plus that cassette became top currency because all of my friends that played guitar wanted that tape, so they would trade anything for a copy of it. I was 14 years old the first time I heard them and I’m 40 now so it’s been a while. Cannibal is just a horror movie in music format.
Their next album (The Bleeding) is the bands masterpiece featuring this (their first) vocalist in my opinion. I think it has most of their most catchy and well known songs and you can even start to understand him. The lyrics are still nuts but I think you should check that album out. Also Frank - if you want to check out a song featuring their current lead singer check out "Scourge of Iron" I got in to them because once you get past the lyrics you realize the skill it takes to play like this and it was just a natural progression for me.
@@aur4b0t Did you respond to the wrong person? I'm not sure what my post has to do with (im assuming) someone saying scourge of iron sucks? I know you didnt see that in my comment
Classic Death Metal album. For future heads-up when it comes to death metal. View the vocals as an instrument and just enjoy the music! Here are a few suggestions for death/extreme metal: Death - Symbolic Strapping Young Lad - Alien Nile - Annihilation of the Wicked At the Gates - Slaughter of the Soul -These records are all in different styles of extremity. Choose your pick.
This is my initial reaction from yesterday.. but today I'm just listening to the instruments and I like this band more then I did yesterday🤙🏾🎸🇺🇸 thanks for the recommendations
the album that got me into death metal was this one, before this i was actually addicted to slayer music, specially reign in blood and slipknot first two albums, i thought those bands were heavy indeed but it came to a point where i just wanted more , i was kinda saturated and bored of listeting to the same level of agressiveness, and i tried some death metal but i was not liking it, i think i was listening to brutal stuff beyond cannibal corpse and it was too much for me, so i tried canniibal with TOMB and man i was enjoying the hell out of it like the guitar tone of the album, the speed and the low vocals were something else, Obviously the lyrics are messed up,silly and all over the place to be taken seriously but OG death metal was all like this wherre instrumentals usually have more value than lyrics, there is stuff that makes Cannibal Corpse sound like baby band tho... this is is one of the biggest and most diverse genres of metal music and music in general, dont be scared or do not hesitate too much on trying to like this genre, trust me, it come to a point where you just want to listen to it, specially when there is much more soffisticated bands with godly instrumentals ans interesting lyrics, even cannibal has a lot more polished albums
There are so many memes towards Cannibal Corpse. Like the one where they go around with a happy face when listening to CC's music, but a concerned face when reading to the lyrics. or the ironic memes where they go around saying. "OH thank you for the parental advisory sticker... I wouldn't ever guessed this wasn't for children." Anyways, welcome to the brutal and extreme side of metal.
do a full listen through of “Kill”. its probably their heaviest and fastest paced but most underrated album. and the lyrics are batshit crazy out of this world 🔥 lol
I started listening to Cannibal around 95, bought all the albums. You should checkout Six Feet Under- Feasting on the Blood of the Insane. Same singer Chris Barnes. Band has a heavy groove style versus technical speed style.🤘
Yeah honestly I could never get into these guys due to the “singing” but I was into Deicide… LoL yeah! Suggestion- Death- Human, album. If you're into Panera then you will like to dig this album.
Props to you for even going through the whole album. I love this stuff, but I can understand it being extraordinarily challenging for the uninitiated. 🔥🫀🤘
Listen to Sinister (dutch band), cross the styx (1992), guitars and drums are more brutal, voice is similar, lyrics actually can`t be more nuts than cannibal corpses are
Excellent video! I personally only listen to Cannibal Corpse up to The Bleeding, which is the last album with Chris Barnes as the singer/lyricist. I personally dont enjoy George as the singer. Though Chris had some really fucked up lyrics they were still poetic in a way. He had a great vocabulary and told stories well. And had a fantastic growl. I would really like if you could do the final album with Chris Barnes; The Bleeding. My favourite album. Thanks for the video
I've been a fan of Cannibal Corpse since 1992. That's the year this album came out and they started getting attention from people in the mainstream like Pat Roberson and Jim Carrey, who gave them a cameo in Ace Ventura: Pet Detective. Like you said, I was a fan of Slayer in the 80s when I was in elementary school. I later listened to Possessed for their heavier sound. Then, I got into Death; the first true death metal band. Then, a few years later, we got Cannibal Corpse, Napalm Death, Obituary, Deicide and Morbid Angel almost simultaneously. It was a great time to be a teenager when my favorite subgenre of music was born
For a contender from that era try Napalm Death Harmony Corruption album. For something just as twisted but very different, try Carcass Necroticism Descanting the Insalubrious! 🔥
Death metal vocals are more like an instrument in stead of being lurics on top of the music there still are lyrics but it has to blend in like a instrument with the chunky heavy guitars and bass so notmal to not clean vocals that gonna have the same effect ... sounds like a monster is on the microphone😂 love it man i just love it
Check out Death - Spiritual Healing One of the best Death Albums in my Opinion. And the Two best Metal Guitar Players in this Time. Chuck Schuldinger (RIP) and James Murphy.
I started listening to cannibal corpse because the chunky sound and killer riffs and i started playing bass because of alex webster the bassist of cannibal just a machine dude cant get any better finger style technik and to be honnest the first time i heared cannibal i and redding the lyrics on the album i felt sick to my stomach lol i was a young kid... like 12 but still i just fell in love with the pure heavy sounding murdernous horror movie type music 😂❤
Frank... My guy! So, I just clicked on the video but havent watched not one second yet. I love your channel and your reactions but based on your reactions to 'SLAYER - Reign in Blood', I'm not sure if you're gonna be ready for 'Tomb of the Mutilated'. Its without a doubt a particular vibe but I would be stoked if you prove me wrong. OHH KAAY!!
Tomb Of The Mutilated and ALL CC IS About Death and Terror/Horror, Slayer IS About Death And Terror/Horror and Everything Else, Talk About ALL, Slayer Influenced ALL The Metal We Listen to, Principally Black/Death Metal
Awesome reaction man! Also if you want a band that tops Cannibal Corpse's heaviness, Infant Annihilator is definitely a contender; they're a satire but make insanely brutal music.
Opinion there... this old school death metal is heavier. WAY heavier. Plus these guys were first and went crazy as shit with the lyrics back in 1990. That was way before drum machine annihilator was born. No satire in these lyrics... they're just creepy.
I started listening to them about 2001 or so when I was about 2122. At first glance I wasn't sure about them then I went to see them live the first time in 2004, and since I've become a huge fan I know all of play albums and I've seen them 9 or 10 times. One of my favorite bands of all time along with pantera, slayer, vader, behemoth, anthrax, down, super joint ritual and many other metal bands
There are many bands who tried to be heavier and more brutal but they just lack talent and they are boring, except a few of course that are good. I recommend Morbid Angel, Suffocation, Deicide, Cryptopsy.
