    Hi i chk out 2015 S coupe. My mechanic said he thinks there is gaskit leak, but i am keen to buy one used version as it is less KM . Can this be easily repaired if i have extended warranty?

    • @3DThaRapstar
      @3DThaRapstar  3 місяці тому +1

      Yes it is covered under warranty, the cost can be pricey tho if you need a new engine harness etc, the price can range from 10k to 16k if the engine has to come out for the job to be done, a good alternative would be to have mechanic clean out the ecu if it’s caught early enough, drain the ecu of the oil and put new cam seals on and you might be good, if not yes the warranty should repair that bill, and yes it would be a good buy, just wondering how long the oil leak has been going on? But yes if it’s not just oil and gasket it’s still covered

      @@3DThaRapstar hi thanks for your reply. I am getting less driven less then 25k , 2015 S550 coupe for USD 58k. Is it good price ? And if drive it for 3 years with less then 60k , at what price can I sell it ? Just asking ..

      @3DThaRapstar  3 місяці тому

      @@dealsdubaithat is a good price because of the lower mileage and if you keep it low then yes. You can get a great deal when it’s time to sell but they will always depreciate because of them just getting older and the maintenance prices but yes you should be good

    There is actually a way around that issue (somewhat). The issue is that the camshaft positioning sensors and the camshaft solenoids do tend to leak after a while and cause “wicking”, the way around that is to buy the new revised camshaft positioning sensors, (the green lined ones) that should stop/lower the chance of it leaking and new camshaft solenoids, and buy some “pig tails” aka harness extenders as a preventative maintenance for both the solenoids and the sensors, the harness help by giving you some extra time to check for leaks before it’s too late and if a leak is found, you just replace the parts and the harness to protect the ecu,(I recommend checking these every oil change just to be on the safe side) sadly there is no permanent fix but doing this can save you from spending 10k plus by only spending around 700 bucks. You can buy everything that I listed at fcp euro, except the pig tails for the camshaft positioning sensors, you can find some on eBay, also fcp euro has warranty on almost everything so if your parts start to leak and you need new ones, they cover your next one free. That’s what I did and HIGHLY recommend everyone do.

      No you should be good In the CL, but what you have to look out for is that suspension bro, that ABC is no joke and can cost upward of 4 grand, also motor mounts and parking brake failure. I miss my CL I got plenty on the channel but sadly for me it was reliable but cost me a ton of money to repair

    I can't believe Mercedes hasn't solved this problem, same issue happened in the small 1.8 l kompressor engine M271 (not commercialized in the Americas) and is well known, oil basically run up the cable from the camshaft sensor to the ECU.
