REMEMBER!! to warm up, if you go too hard for too long you'll injure yourself. Stretching for 2 mins and some simple swings not only enhances your performance, but also prevents your ligaments from popping suddenly, or waking up with a dislocated shoulder.

I LOVE this channel. It has motivated me to begin working out again, after having done NO exercise for at least 7 months. Earlier this year when I was exercising fairly regularly, I could do at least 60 standard pushups in sets of 20, and sometimes 30 reps at a time, 3 times per week. Then when covid hit and life went a bit pear shaped, I stopped working out. A few days ago, I thought the kneeling pushups would be a good place to begin with my new strength plan. I almost died after only 12 push-ups. Even a 10-minute rest only gave me enough energy to do 3 more. I will no longer call them 'girl' push-ups (I'm a guy), because they are much harder than I thought they'd be :D
My goal is now 2 sets of 30 kneeling push-ups, as Hampton suggests. Thanks Hampton, for your calm motivation.

LOL Dude, that's just crazy. I just watched your pull-ups video, and then I was like hey I wonder how this guy recommends doing push-ups. So I clicked on this video and I remembered you!!! I actually found this video in early 2020, watched it, and decided to follow it, and I did, but I completely forgot where I got the chest height hip height chair push-up ideas from. But it was you all along! I started with 2-3 push ups on a chest-high object to now doing 30-40 girl push ups or 10-15 normal ones. This stuff works, took me a year, but it sure does work. Chest high things, then hip high things then suddenly normal push ups become gradually possible.

I started from the wall push ups. I gained a lot of weight and was in a terrible shape. Had to destroy my ego and do every step. It was both painful and embarrassing, the fact that I'm unable to do the basic human activity. So I went through the whole progression - wall push ups, elevated push up, knee push ups regular push ups and now I'm on the arrowhead push ups. And my best result of regular push ups was 100 total (4 sets of 25). It took me one year to achieve my goal, but with a better discipline it could have been much faster.
Go for it people. It is possible, just trust in the process. I personally want to learn how to do one arm push ups before the end of the year, and atm it seems like only the matter of continuing doing that.

Planche pushups are indeed very difficult and impressive! However, the reason I don't include them in a pushup progression is because I think they belong more in a planche progression. In my opinion, the majority of the benefit of planche pushups lies in the benefit of planches themselves. Planches are not necessarily great at building pushing strength despite their difficulty. I hope that makes sense!

Thanks ive had your videos in a favorite folder for awhile and ive finally got around to creating better routines for my self and calisthenics has really helped me feel like i can gradually and privately increase my fitness. It can be hard to start so small when your in full view of public something like a wall push up isn't very flashy and can make you feel self conscious about your abilities etc.
These are simple exercises that can done in pretty much any living environment and start small I appreciate that. I am the type who usually pushes themselves too far too fast this is far more sustainable which I have found after a week or two becomes more natural.
If I had to give anyone else advice on this I'd say start with the most basic stuff you can consistently do and keep it to your self. Its fun to want to share but I look at it as a reward sharing I did it one day might give me some positive vibes but not as much as if i delayed that for a week, or two plus it keeps me on focus. Start at your own level, do the therapy motions if need be get used to it. Do what you can maintain on a regular schedule. Slow and steady.

Those archer push-ups got me dude. I can do regular push-ups all day and a good amount of the diamond/arrowhead push-ups but have never tried archer push-ups. They're hard for me and I can only do 8 per arm but I'm glad I have something to work on. Thanks and love your content!

If you want a push-up variation similar to the archer push-up.
But a little harder, try the typewriter push-up.

This is one of the best videos I have ever seen. I truly genuinely appreciate the "mis-takes" you made and even more I love that you left them in and not edited them out too much.

Thank you so much for this :)
I've only been able to do 5 pushups in a row and that's always made me not want to exercise. Your method though makes it more approachable. Much love

I started my entire fitness journey with callisthenics and I learnt most movements from it until I finally got my hands on weights. I mostly do weights and weighted callisthenics but watching these callisthenic moves gives me so much nostalgia.

I am very glad to have found these. I never would have searched exercise videos on my own but you came up on my fyp on TikTok and thought this might be great for helping me at least start my journey for health. Our gym has TRX equipment i use when i go but i didnt realize how much i can do at home too.

With push-up handles to preserve the integrity of my wrists, I plateaued at around 20 push-ups at best, and then I moved over to bar dips. After a short while, with the freak show of the muscles built up around the back of shoulders, I was able to do 50 push-ups without any effort. So pleased with that progress, I pushed the repetitions of 50 push-ups, and then rendered myself inoperative, for six-weeks, with the effect of Delayed Onset of Muscular Soreness (DOMS), that was really sore indeed. As a consequence of that experience, I now pace it better :-)
