I was a big Avril fan when she first came out but haven’t heard her live in a long time. Pretty impressed how much better she sounds live now compared to back in the day.

Olivia's covered Complicated on her tour solo so this collab really isn't weird at all. Also, I'd say Avril is more Pop Punk than Emo, although there is a lot of cross-over for those genres.

I find Avril’s pronunciation of her lyrics rlly interesting and her general timbre so unusual, not in a bad way
Same, her pronunciation has always struck me as being really odd. I thought maybe it was a bilingual Canadian thing because Justin Trudeau kind of does the same thing when he speaks but turns out despite her french name Avril wasn't fluent in French growing up and Napanee isn't a francophone community. And Celine Dion who's a francophone, her accent/pronunciation is quite different from this.

I think that Avril Lavignes first Album is literally one of the legendary Albums we have and one that has also had quite a big influence on many singers to come. For me it is easily in my top albums of all time (and I was born in 2001 btw so I wasn't even really there when it came out).
While I too don't like quite a few of the Songs she put out after that (although there is some of her best work between these songs as well) I still think that she doesn't deserve to be hated as much as she is and I really hope she can become relevant again and maybe strike a few collaborations with newer singers like Olivia which I always find amazing (singers of two Generations coming together)
