    We as South Africans must salute Zimbabwe for leading the struggle. The struggle should reach us soon.

    Mr Mliswa, you made some valid points. I'd like to share some light on this issue.
    The situation is both tame and wicked. On the one side, we know that years of bad leadership and corruption have lead us here - so we know cause.
    On the other, we have complex economic mess that seems to have no solution. Monetary and Fiscal policies that are completely toxic to our economy, and negative GDP.
    If Mnangagwa had a genuine desire to change the economy, he would have gotten rid of all the corrupt officials. This has the dual effect of sending a clear message to the world that he is truly introducing a new dispensation. This would've boosted investor confidence. It would also have covered that black hole caused by corruption, ensuring funds coming in would not just disappear. He has not done this because he is corrupt himself, and enjoys proceeds of crime and fears losing support of his party.
    After that, he should have resolved the land issue. He has more than 14 farms and he is not a farmer. Many ZANU PF officials have multiple farms after the land grabbing. That's not land reform and is again corruption and counter productive. He has not done it because it means he has to give up the farms he took for himself.
    He should have dealt with mining. Mr Mliswa, everything natural in Zimbabwe is ours, all of us. The diamonds, gold, copper platinum, land ... it's for everyone not for ZANU PF only. He must have introduced policies around fair mining rights, transparency on extractions accountability, etc. Our minerals are being sold to the lowest bidder because of bribes and power games. Our future is being stolen daily, but Mnangagwa has not even glanced at this. He also owns a few diamond mines, and clearly doesn't want to lose them.
    I can carry on, but I guess you get the picture. Mnangagwa and ZANU PF are not interested in fixing the economy, he is worried about staying in power. Yet again it's the ordinary citizens that suffer. Decisions being made are out of desperation, irrational and outright stupid.
    A criminal does not arrest himself, take himself to court, charge, judge and sentence himself. ZANU PF cannot expel crimes it has great proficiency in, gained over nearly 4 decades. Mnangagwa was at the forefront of designing, implementing and executing these crimes. Are we to believe that he has changed overnight?
    The situation is simple to fix, but very hard to do. Mnangagwa and ZANU PF are dark hearted, driven by greed and corrupted by power. They've shown clearly that power and control matter above all. That's why it's hard. Otherwise the economy can practically fix itself.

    Zimbabwe prides itself as one of the best educated countries in Africa but the paradoxical question is, an education which can't chart the way for the country to move to a better direction economically?

    Zimbabwe is unfixable. Its main foreign currency resource was farming and when they decide to disregard property rights, they lost the competent farmers forever. Millions of hectares of land now lay unworked. As many people are jobless.

    • @shephardmukachi2817
      @shephardmukachi2817 5 років тому +1

      Jannie, it is fixable. By simply removing bad leadership and instituting better governance - problem is solved. The difficulty is getting rid of this corrupt dictatorship.

    • @janni3dutoit
      @janni3dutoit 5 років тому +1

      Shephard Mukachi, I must say that I used to agree with this point of view. Problem is two:
      1. SA does not have a dictatorship, but as a one party state, suffers similar bad economic decisions.
      2. No white farmer in his right mind will ever buy farms or trust the Zim government / indigenous people again. Damage will take generations to forgive and forget.

    • @shephardmukachi2817
      @shephardmukachi2817 5 років тому +2

      @@janni3dutoit Agree to your first point. SA is not far behind Zim in regards to toxic economic decisions and corruption too.
      As for your 2nd point, I don't think it's about black or white farmers - the issue of land ownership inequalities was a problem for hundreds of years, and I agree that regaining trust might take just as long if not longer. You have to bear in mind always that black Africans are scared by years of foreign oppression, and black people are not trusting either - and that is not something we are going to forget.
      However, that said, I believe the former white farmers know that the so called 'land reform' was actually land grabbing in a desperate attempt by Mugabe to please people that had lost faith in him and his ZANU PF regime, and we do not share the same mad sentiments or views. The land was actually not even shared fairly among the black either, it's only the privileged ZANU PF few that got most of the land, some even having more than 10 farms each and they are not even farmers. There are many excellent black farmers, my dad was one of them winning (cotton farmer of the year several times) - but he did not get a single farm.
      Agreed it takes time to rebuild trust, but we need to admit wrongs done from both sides, and we must forget the black and white divides. We are all Africans, and should all treat each other fairly and equally. It seems impossible at the moment because the country is run by people who fought in the freedom war. They are using that to hold on to power and abuse the ones they supposedly fought for. However, once these self-proclaimed heroes are gone (gone the'll be soon too), you'll see that Zimbabweans will be united, irrespective of skin colour.

      @Kwasi Just check youtube Mthuli UK Chatham house speech, before his speech the rate already fell to 3, when he came out, the rate fell to 5. His famous word"the black market is doing the job for me" quoted

    • @Paul-nm9yb
      @Paul-nm9yb 5 років тому

      @Kwasi Devalution does not work, as Zim is a huge importing country, everything is linked to USD. Has the demand and supply changed so much to justify 20:1. No, it is people's confidence. US has 22 trillion debt, debt to gdp ratio is worse than zim. Can you explain oil per barrel can drop from 180 to 40? Is there change in demand and supply? I found the answer in George Soro's "The Alchemy of Finance"~he is the guy caused asian financial crisis~.In his Chaos Theory, "People are often irrational and tend to follow others, once a trend is set, the rest will tend to follow that trend". This is particularlly true in Zim case, how do you bring back the negative trend, yet you have Mthuli and Governor going diff directions. Maybe the best way, it is to pray.

What's really required is for both sides (MDC & ZANU) coming together on this issue, for the sake of the country...
