She has "hardcore singing training" her grandma is a former well-known jazz singer. So she has worked as her vocal trainer, so to speak. But she is an odd entity prodigy you come across once in a lifetime. Listen to "I´m still holding on to your" It´s about 10-year´s difference between that one and I put a spell on you. When you do that you can hear how much her voice has matured. And she´s only 16 when she´s doing that one.
I don't mean to sound rude or anything, but her grandmother is not a singer, but a painter and poet. She's a big jazz fan but not a musician. And there's not a 10-year difference between "I Put a Spell on You" and "I'm Still Holding Out for You" but only about a year. She was 9 years old for "I Put A Spell..." and a week shy of 11 for "I'm Still Holding...". And I think her training back then was mostly after school classes. Now she's 15.

And, by the way, at the beginning of the video, she gives her own arrangement for the song as a wish list to the director! In this video you can see her writing notes on the musical arrangement, which the music director looks at and smiles. Angelina is a prodigy and an old soul. She plays piano, guitar, flute, and violin. Her grandmother, the woman you saw at the door when Angelina came into the studio, is the Iranian artist, Mery Zamani. The worst aspect of this is that UA-cam took down her original reaction of AGT's BOHEMIAN video. She had to chop it up and reupload it, and it was soooo awful that she then gave up and took it down completely. She make covers from Aretha Franklin, Billy Holiday, Tom Jones, Frank Sinatra etc. She always respects the classic, but she do her own also at all her cover. She began to sing with 1,5 years.

To me it feels like Jay Hawkins played the black, scary, wild, voodoo man for white people - he had a bone pierced through his nose. She refined it somehow and brought a seriousness to the song - the passion of loving someone that way, the wanting and matter of fact "I put a spell one you" behind his lyrics... It's impressive. Don't know how she did it, maybe she channeled a tantrum (not related to love) to get these, sometimes angry, possessive emotions right. My 3year old is very impressive with them, especially because they're fruitless.
All the arrangements of the songs she sings are done by her. That is why you see her holding a pen in her hand and handing over a sheet of paper to the director of the band. That piece of paper has all her changes to the song and that is why the director smiles when he reads them

The girl did not have any shoes, and Angelina says her feet were scarred. Angelina gave the girl her own shoes. The good news is, this video is unique. No other performance of hers is quite like this one. The bad news is, that doesn't really matter, because the video has done its job. The spell is cast. She is 9 years old in this video. The black gentleman was the one who originally performed the song. The reason she was barefoot is because she was on vacation and saw a girl about her age sitting on the side of the road with no shoes. She has "hardcore singing training" her grandma is a former well-known jazz singer. So she has worked as her vocal trainer, so to speak. But she is an odd entity prodigy you come across once in a lifetime. Listen to "I´m still holding on to your" It´s about 10-year´s difference between that one and I put a spell on you. When you do that you can hear how much her voice has matured. And she´s only 16 when she´s doing that one.
I don't mean to sound rude or anything, but her grandmother is not a singer, but a painter and poet. She's a big jazz fan but not a musician. And there's not a 10-year difference between "I Put a Spell on You" and "I'm Still Holding Out for You" but only about a year. She was 9 years old for "I Put A Spell..." and a week shy of 11 for "I'm Still Holding...". And I think her training back then was mostly after school classes. Now she's 15.

- At 2 or 3 she discovered Jazz through her grandmother and started studying all the greats from Jazz history with youtube videos.
- *Why Angelina always sings barefoot* - When Angelina was 6 years old, she was traveling with her grandmother and met a poor girl with no shoes trying to make money on the streets. They talked for a while and discussed their dreams. It was cold and the girl had scars on her feet. Seeing this, Angelina took off her shoes and gave them to the girl. The girl thanked her and told Angelina she would pray for her every day. That day Angelina made a vow to always sing barefoot until all the children of the world could have shoes. To this day, whenever Angelina is performing in public, she sings barefoot as a way to remember that little girl and to remind us that there are less fortunate people in the world that could use our help.
Angelina holds so true to this promise that she has sung outdoors in Norway, in december... barefoot. She has sung at a dinner with ex-pres Obama... barefoot. She went on AGT (possibly the biggest stage in the world)...bare foot. She made a promise at 6 years old, and has stuck strong to it for years. That takes a special kind of person.
- She has always been the driving force behind her own singing career. It was her that asked her mother to take her to Norways Got Talent, where she auditioned at 7 years old and went on to win the whole show at just 8 years old.
- In an interview after the show, when asked what she was going to do with the prize money, the 8 year old replied, "I would like to give it to orphans that need clothes and shoes"
- When Angelina was 9 years old she became the youngest published author in Norway, when she wrote a book about the story of why she doesn't wear shoes when she sings. She donated proceeds from the sales of the book to help children in need.
- The reason you may not have heard of her is because her parents are very protective of her childhood. They do not want her to be thrust into stardom before she has a chance to grow up as a normal child, and finish her education. They allow her to do a few select shows (mainly private and charity events) with a couple public shows every year when she is out of school. Her mother said in an interview that they have turned down 90% of the offers that come in. I have heard they have turned down offers from many major record labels and even disney.
- Angelina has covered more than 120 songs and over 65 artists in the last 6 years. She always selects the songs herself... everything ranging from old classic jazz to modern pop. She is able to change her voice to match any song she sings and make it her own. (she can cover Amy Winehouse and Lana del Rey like nobody else)
- Angelina has collaborated with some very big names over the last few years... Quincy Jones, Mark Ronson, David Foster, Alan Walker and many more. All of which heard her and were blown away by her talent.

To me it feels like Jay Hawkins played the black, scary, wild, voodoo man for white people - he had a bone pierced through his nose. She refined it somehow and brought a seriousness to the song - the passion of loving someone that way, the wanting and matter of fact "I put a spell one you" behind his lyrics... It's impressive. Don't know how she did it, maybe she channeled a tantrum (not related to love) to get these, sometimes angry, possessive emotions right. My 3year old is very impressive with them, especially because they're fruitless.
All the arrangements of the songs she sings are done by her. That is why you see her holding a pen in her hand and handing over a sheet of paper to the director of the band. That piece of paper has all her changes to the song and that is why the director smiles when he reads them

The girl did not have any shoes, and Angelina says her feet were scarred. Angelina gave the girl her own shoes. Not only does Angelina honor the young homeless girl she met by performing barefoot, but she also wrote a book about the experience. It’s called Mellom to jherter (“Between two hearts”), and was published in 2015, when Angelina was only 9 years old. There's a video clip of her on youtube from she was 18 months old, where she sings/tries to sing a Whitney Huston song, so yes she started early... The family's reaction was to play old Jazz for her. I think it is possible that Angelina is the only person in history who has Jazz as her first language, besides Norwegian : )

She is 9 years old in this video. The black gentleman was the one who originally performed the song. The reason she was barefoot is because she was on vacation and saw a girl about her age sitting on the side of the road with no shoes. She gave the girl her shoes and performs barefoot in respect for all those children. She is truly a amazing young lady.
