We hear so much about the 1990 MNF game (10-1 vs 10-1), but this game was 9-2 vs 9-2 and was just as compelling in a different way.

I remember watching this game on television going back a long time ago. This was a pretty good high scoring one. It was a hell of a lot more entertaining than their 2nd meeting the year after at Candlestick Park in their 7-3 matchup, that's for damn sure.

That 7-3 49ers win was one of the best defensive games in the history of the NFL.

For the all NY giant's bragging, taylor got what was coming to him a couple of times at The Stick.
Two times that I can remember broken ankles, and another dislocation of the hip or knee after attempting to injure Montana, and HE was the one that got forked up.
The pic of him in the mouth of the Forty Niner's cart, crying like a baby, because he broke his whittle ankle, is my new screen saver.

Too bad Roger wasn't carrying his THREE Super Bowl Championship rings too, that way taylor "The Greatest Defensive Player/game day substance abuser Ever" could've stolen them to compensate for all the ones he will NEVER have after 15 seasons and just two.

He definitely would have stolen them and then sold them back to him, but…he wouldn’t have had to steal them because Craig would have fumbled all 3.

"Rog" held on well enough to SET the record for 1000 x 1000 and unlike smell-T and many current day "Playaz" who evidently idolize that cheatin' dope head, Craig maintained his integrity and illustrated good sportsmanship throughout his career and beyond.

@@thefrase7884 That’s what everyone said in 1990 when they were going for the threepeat. The Niner’s were so smug about the championship game they had their bags packed and ready to head to Tampa for the Super Bowl before the game started. Didn’t go as planned.

@@MaxCady20But the 1990 49ers aren't the 1989 49ers. They were much stronger of a team the season before. Especially since they could run the football a lot better. Doesn't matter. Giants were one, and done in 1989.

@@MaxCady20Definitely not the case. The 1990 49ers had no running game. Bill Belichick was Joe Montana’s kryptonite. Too many want to give Bill Parcells the majority of the credit. Bill Belichick is a mastermind.
