This data is being shared without context both in favor and against Babar. His numbers outside the captaincy are naturally going to be lower because they coincide with the early part of his career where Babar Domestic 4 Day numbers were quite average for a player of his talent.
It’s important to remember that his overall numbers are far below Mohammad Yousuf and Younis Khan who played in a much more difficult era.

Why do you guys not talk about his poor captaincy as the main cause of his failures ? Why do you guys keep bringing dressing room and board room politics ? PCB role has never been positive and I have been following cricket since late 1980s.
I mean have you heard him speak? Don't care if he can't speak or communicate in English, he cant even convey his thought process in Urdu. How can a world class batter have no coherent thoughts on the game he excels in !!
He was a tactically poor captain, period. I think he was worse than poor. We can talk about specific incidences, T20 WC 2021, he let Australia take the game after they were 99/5. T20 Asia Cup final, SL were 50/5 and ended up with 150 odd, WC 23 games against Afghanistan, T20 24 game against USA. There are countless examples in test matches. We lost all these games due to poor tactics. Poor passages of plays during test matches, slow RR when you can enforce a decision, bad selection for final playing 11 on many occasions etc.
He did not develop the team despite being in charge for 4 year. Did not developed a vice captain. Played his friends over players who deserved to be in the team (Hassan Ali, Shadab, Nawaz etc). Selfishly played as a opener and did not let Fakhar play at the right position. Kept playing players in the wrong positions (i.e Harris) and wrong formats. Never took the initiative or the game head on.
He appears to be a weak and petty person. For sure he was a timid and defensive captain, always thinking about how not to lose the game. Good captains think about the team not about personal successes. He is single handedly responsible for the downfall of Pakistan cricket over the last 3-4 years because he held the power and ultimately the responsibility.
I am sick and tired of Doc and Rashid twisting this and not calling a spade a spade. Especially Rashid Latif, such a smug character. Always blaming politics. Once you are on the field, it is your responsibility to give 100% and give your self the best chance to win. Sick and tired of this show not addressing the real problem. The Player himself and no one else is responsible for their on field performance.
