I'm really edified by Rev. Bishop's gesture of deep consoling love for the grieving family. So, simple... So genuine acceptance of the seminarian and his family! We need such caring and simple Bishops who understands the pain of the people! God bless you Bishop for being a visible visitation of Christ in their family. 🙏🙏🙏
Possano trovare conforto e consolazione nella fede, nella preghiera e nella vicinanza e solidarietà dei fratelli. La benedizione del Signore accomoagni sempre il Vescovo Teodoro e lo sostenga nel suo lavoro.
RIP God alone can console you dear brother. Soon you will be an Alter Christus. Our Lord Jesus Christ will give you thousands of sisters. But I do understand the maximum grief you are undergoing.Great loss . Thank God for your humble and generous hearted Bishop
Lord Jesus Christ, You suffered the loss of Your beloved foster-father, St. Joseph; You wept at the death of Your friend Lazarus; and from Your Cross You beheld the grief of Your Mother, Mary. Look upon me in my grief, and touch my wounded heart. Welcome all my deceased loved ones into Your kingdom, and help me to surrender them to Your merciful love. Grant me peace in the midst of distress, courage in the midst of loss, and hope in the midst of sorrow. Fill me with the strength I need just to make it through another day. Help me to remember that You will never abandon me, that You will never forget me, and that You will see me through this time of suffering and trial. I offer You my tears, and I give You my wounded heart; receive them gently. Amen.
My sincere condolences to the breaed family members. Every thing is fine so far, why did the Bishop allow the family women to wash his feet? .Even if it is a custom it should be avoided . Jesus didn't allow his disciples to wash his feet . Jesus himself washed his disciples feet and asked them to be humble. Be like a servant and serve the people. Authority especially of spiritual gurus shouldn't be expressed.
there is a difference between authority and affection. washing of feet was done not only of the Bishop but also of their own son and the accompanying seminarian. It is not about authority it is about cultural modes of welcoming.
36 One of the Pharisees asked Jesus to eat with him, so Jesus went into the Pharisee’s house and sat at the table. 37 A sinful woman in the town learned that Jesus was eating at the Pharisee’s house. So she brought an alabaster jar of perfume 38 and stood behind Jesus at his feet, crying. She began to wash his feet with her tears, and she dried them with her hair, kissing them many times and rubbing them with the perfume. 39 When the Pharisee who asked Jesus to come to his house saw this, he thought to himself, “If Jesus were a prophet, he would know that the woman touching him is a sinner!”
This is Adivasi culture. They welcome all their guests by washing the feet. It is a symbol of love, acceptance and affection. When they ask you to have your feet washed, if you refuse them out of our sense of humility and modesty, they often get offended. So we are happy to comply with their cultural feelings. For Jesus' thoughts about washing of feet see also Luke 7:44 "Then he (Jesus) turned toward the woman and said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I came into your house. You did not give me any water for my feet, but she wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair." We must read the Bible as a whole not only in parts.
Why the feet of a Bishop should be washed by the grieving family members when he has gone to comfort them? We have seen Pope washing the feet of the poor and others. Can this act of Bishop be explained. This act makes his visit to the house of the afflicted pales into insignificance.
The tradition is to wash the feet of all guests who enter the house. Not only the Bishop’s feet. The feet of the son who has come home and that of the accompanying seminarian are also washed. Washing the feet is not a sign of inferiority or superiority. It is an act of affection and welcome

What happened to him?
The lady said come your are guests wash your feet
दुखद
सोचो क्या कभी कोई ब्राह्मण पंडित ऐसा कर सकता है, शूद्रों असुरों को गले लगा सकता है, उनके हित में काम कर सकता है, सुख दुख का साथी बन सकता है|
