- 1990 PBA Seattle Open held at Skyway Park Bowl in Seattle, Washington. The first match features Wayne Webb versus Bill Oakes. The second match features Mike Edwards versus Bill Oakes. The third match features Chris Warren versus Bill Oakes. The championship match features Brian Voss versus Chris Warren.
That was really cool seeing Bert Blyleven in one of the ads. He was a great pitcher for the Minnesota Twins. I was a big Minnesota Twins fan back when he pitched for them!! 👍⚾️

The man who won this title pulled off one of the best comebacks I've ever seen. The way he pulled himself together to nail down the win was amazing.

He had a hell of a year in 1990 - counting the Masters, he won four titles, right?
And every single one was 10-in-the-pit flush.
He won the Japan Cup too, so yes, 4 times! Certainly a solid candidate for Player of the Year (which would be won that year by Monacelli).
Amazing that 2 of the 3 5'5" players on tour at the time were in this telecast!

Wayne Webb has like 20 something titles right? I still think he is somewhat underrated because of the fact that most of his success happened in the 1980's. Let's keep in mind that he did win 2 titles in 1997, the Bud Light and the Peoria. Also, he came very close to winning the Peoria Open in 1996, but Marshall Holman beat him in a thrilling match. Wayne Webb also came VERY close to winning a second major when he lost to a man who would make one more TV Final after his win in the 1995 PBA National Championship, and that of course is Scott Alexander. But I still feel that Wayne Webb is underrated. And I think I ALWAYS will.

How exciting and close were they?
I grew up bowling there from Bantam youth leagues as a kid. For anyone who hasn't been there in 20-30 years, it's definitely changed; certainly gone downhill a bit, sadly.
