  • With the recent firing of Miami Hurricanes football coach Al Golden, many have looked for answers as to why one of the most successful and storied football programs in the country has fallen into such dark times. Over the last decade, coaches Randy Shannon and Al Golden have pulled in highly touted recruiting classes. However, this talent hasn't translated to wins on the field leaving alumni, past players, trustees, university officials, and fans embarrassed by the state of the program. Some believe the solution to restoring the program to the upper echelon of college football is a simple change in coaching. However, as detailed in this brief video, that is clearly not the case.

Change in a coach that can change the culture. How do we change a culture of losing?? It is a process, but the process starts with getting a coach that knows how to win on saturday. The silver lining in this whole process of trying to get back to national promince is our recruiting classes. We will always have talent and that is pretty much what we've been winning off of in the past 10yrs. But when you play other teams with just as much talent ie FSU, CLEMSON ect... the talent level balances out and that's when COACHING comes into play. This is the first year we actually payed big time money for a coach. I honestly believe this could be a quick turn around. real quick

The U? I don't see a U in Miami. There's one in Hurricanes, but that would be like saying the Florida Gators fans saying it's all about the A. Where the heck does this U come from anyway?

The U was created in 1970's by a student and artist at the University of Miami. For years, they struggled with logos M, UM, etc and had never really decided on what to go with because these logos could of been used by many other universities. The split U was a bold statement and it made the University of Miami "THE University of Miami" which made it unique. The U. When you hear it, when you see it, you think of the one and only University of Miami Hurricanes.
