Stevie is a stand up guy, I love how he stopped the conversation to properly introduce himself. James is working very hard to help Rene get all this together and he deserves nothing less even if he doesn’t think so! Go James!
Stevie is an unsung hero in the world of wrestling. I’m sorry for not appreciating him as a talent when he was active but I can’t express how glad I am that he not only survived the business but also seems to have no ill will towards it either. Thanks to Big Stevie, James and Rene as always, for letting me in a little bit to enjoy a lovely conversation between friends.
I agree! For me personally, I felt he really hit his peak/high spot in WWE. That was top level heel work and Richards deserved more recognition for it. That group really made people talk about Censorship for years to come! Will never forget it. Whether it was funny roles in bWo, or more of a serious heel role in RTC, Stevie was no doubt, very talented.
45:30 Correction for Stevie, Big E is actually shorter than Ridge Holland. But Stevie's statement still stands, a release overhead belly to belly to a 300 pound man by a 250 pounder still isn't something that should be happening
I knew this was gonna be a treat, without doubt my favorite interview thus far. It had so much from insight story's to humor & even tips on good health.
Stevie has aged EXCEPTIONALLY well, damn! Most people who've been in the wrestling business as long as he was look pretty shocking now days, a testament to his time as a doctor 😝😝
Glad to see Stevie managing well these days and he looks better for his age than most fellas I know that are younger than him. Power to you Stevie and another golden podcast Rene and James. Good stuff!!
Uh oh James...you're on the hook now 😛 I look forward to seeing your weekly resistance bands progress videos 😂 Maybe we can have Rene screaming at you from Japan while you're training...just like in Rocky 🔥🔥🔥
Wow thank you for all this knowledge again! I also think this is the most important thing to take care of your opponent !! love this podcast love james questions and rene, as always LÂCHE PAS et j'espère te voir lutter un jour au québec !!!!!! :)
Another banger! 💯 Was just traveling and listening to this the entire time. Best podcast on YT as of right now. James killin it with his knowledge/questions and Rene with the precise comedic timing. Especially, the RVD story and how it was truly an unforgettable experience for him. 😂
A lot of good stuff in this episode, but 36:55 should be in a highlight reel if you ever do one. Also, that Shelton / Stevie match; it was great other than a bad looking armdrag at the start. Wouldn't be surprised if Vince just flipped out and would've hated the match regardless of what they did.
Where the championship belts made with real gold, and prescious menials? Or where they made cheaply? Also you should try to interview the belt maker for WWe back in the day, for get his name
Had a rough weekend and birthday but this drop was really fun to watch. So glad I live in the states because I was a baby when the Raven/Dreamer stuff was happening, my cousin had all the tapes for it and man watching those were amazing. Stevie on Sunday Night Heat was fun as well. As always gents, great episode!
Steve is a great interview, ive asked him so many wrestling questions on youtube and hes never answered lol so this is gonna be a full sit down watch for me. He really should have held the IC title during right to censor. Would have made the stable more credible along with having the goodfather and bull as tag champs. They dropped the ball so hard with Stevie, at least let him get the win back on Masters who basically broke his face, that was a let down. Losing interest in that product isnt hard.
That win wouldn't ever happen though. Stevie had been jobbing out to jobbers for a while, they wouldn't ever bury Masters that much. Maybe if there was A LOT of interference, but even so...
Stevie was always hardcore hbk to me. I loved the story with I believe raven as his underling and winning the belt I think in ecw. That story could have been bigger, or it was and I was just a bit to young to remember more than the angle. I think in WWE he could been a smart ass with a heavy lk hbk diesel thing just more hardcore focus and made that title super legit at the time. But he looks great and he definitely did some great stuff. The Sunday night heat thing is classic. I'd gave him a raise and it's scary that Steph and the rest were oblivious to it which sounds about right.. confirms how bright certain people are. Lol.
Big. Stevie. Cool. I remember him most from RTC, I came to ECW at the tail end. The most annoying gruop/theme song ever, and i mean that in heel/face terms. Couldnt wait to watch them get beat up
imo: Commentators were: Coach (Jonathan Coachman); Al Snow; (Little) Spike Dudley; Sylvan Grenier (La Resistance tag-team partner, Rene Dupree); Victoria/Tara; Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley; Stevie's ("Big") Johnny Ace impression was great ! "People Power"; (Vince) Russo; the Right To Censor stable ; Vince McMahon and Pat (Patterson, R.I.P.)
Hey rene heard booker t say on his show he wants u to go on the hall of fame and wants u to answer hard questions will u go on his show I love to see it
Every single time I see Stevie Richards I think about how much better WWECW could have really been. Just think about it… After the way Sabu vs Rey ended you could easily have brought in Don Callis to represent “the network” (ECW on TNN throwback of course) Now imagine how much heat you could have gotten when Right To Censor stopped Kelly Kelly from stripping. Imagine how much better “the new breed” could have been IF you put Marcus Cor Von and Elijah Burke in suit and ties. I always said if it was me running that show that’s how I would have played it. Keep Paul a face for ECW but have this network and censorship entity fucking with him time and time and time again, makes perfect sense for how RVD lost the ECW title again, you could have Kevin Thorn, Ariel, and Gangrel as part of the New Brood like was originally planned, then you have RTC trying to bastardize the ECW product, on top of that you can get good heat for bringing in established WWE guys to face off with Big Show. So many good avenues we could have seen. Probably could have added Super Crazy to that group instead of jobbing on SmackDown, you could have brought back three way dances, and you could have kept the originals strong(er) for the future of the brand. Alas that’s not what we got and there is no way to turn back time now. Still holding out hope that Rene can talk Pro Wrestling Noah into doing an American run, there was a time when Go Shiozaki vs Tyler Black was a hot ticket in Florida for Full Impact Pro, can’t help but feel like there are enough stars Western fans know to make that work. Especially if you can get a guy like Eddie Edwards to be a part of said show again.
As much as I like Stevie, you can tell he's reluctant about going on full-blown shoot mode. Most likely trying to keep the door open for future appearances in WWE.
Thanks so much for having me on the show. It was a pleasure.
Continued success with everything, guys.
Thanks stevie can't wait ti do it again
Really interesting stuff Stevie you're a good speaker good storyteller
I fucking hated you dude. RTC was cancer.
Great fucking job man. I love hearing your stories brother.
Your story is straight up positively good vibes
I love you Stevie. You are an amazing human inside and out. You deserve nothing but huge blessings ❤❤❤❤❤
Love Stevie. The guy has not aged a day in 20 years!!

I fucking love Stevie. Dude is the nicest guy on earth. Just wanna hug this dude.
That Stevie Richards and Boogeyman story kills everytime 🤣 🤣 🤣
Stevie is such a class act.
Stevie's cage match vs Luna Vachon in ECW is a true classic.
I literally just watched that again
@@sordidboysavoy4243 Always loved Luna.
Stevie was one of the best heels when in Right to Censor.

Really like Stevies humility. Down to earth don't take things to seriously. Great job gents!
I just wanna say I genuinely think you have the best wrestling based podcast. Every episode is so damn entertaining and you have great guests!

For those who are interested, the chairshot on JBL was I think the July 7 2005 episode of Smackdown. If you want to see it on the Network ☺️☺️☺️
René taking over the podcast industry but by bit 🙏🏻🏆

Wow, I like Stevie Richards. What a great guy. Its no wonder WWE employed him for 10 years. I’m definitely gonna check out his workout stuff.
