Do you know the type of fibers used in the bike? It may compete with higher end TdF bikes if they use the same fibers top tier brands use on their racing models ie used in F1 as well. Carbon fibers degrade with UV! Youll need to paint it for water and UV protection to reduce damage to the carbon fiber material. You usually get what you pay for. For world class sprinters they could use a carbon bike per year due to the amount of stress they put on the bikes ie Cavendish the bike feels dead after a time meaning its tensile strength declibes over usage indicating need for replacement, ouch. If your not competing for glory steel bikes are much more durable and comfortable. .

Did you build it yourself?
Yes
Did the bb that came with it fit?😂 lucky frame.
normal shimano bb
@@GCPerformance18 forgiving to frames that QC has passed but the holes are too small and not round. Quite crap.
Does the presta cassette mount to a standard Shimano 11 speed freehub body?
yes it does
Thanks man, awesome video. I'm currently building up my Arow, and this has made me so excited to ride it! As soon as I can get a new L-Twoo groupset, the first one I got doesn't work.
nice you are going to love the bike
Do you know the type of fibers used in the bike? It may compete with higher end TdF bikes if they use the same fibers top tier brands use on their racing models ie used in F1 as well. Carbon fibers degrade with UV! Youll need to paint it for water and UV protection to reduce damage to the carbon fiber material. You usually get what you pay for. For world class sprinters they could use a carbon bike per year due to the amount of stress they put on the bikes ie Cavendish the bike feels dead after a time meaning its tensile strength declibes over usage indicating need for replacement, ouch. If your not competing for glory steel bikes are much more durable and comfortable. .
It's clarified online and the lighter version uses some different material (more T1000 if i remember correctly)
Came here from PeakTorque video. Uh oh.
Dude it’s crazy, as soon as peak torque released his video. The 120k or 80 miles I rode on the bike never happened and me building this bike without issues, never happened and the bike fell apart after he released his video. Shit is wild
@@GCPerformance18 Grant, that's a drop in the ocean in terms of usage. You built yours up seemingly no problem. What you should really dance with is building a frame up with some of your own QC inspection. Your viewers would love that. Peak has his fans due to his pure facts and no frills analysis. Maybe go in that direction sometimes?????
@@SgtFinaldohe does that every video. Almost every video it’s him showing something that he can do better. It’s all good, I know the cycling industry. People are riding and racing this bike. There will be more issues with other peoples bikes and there will also be a bunch of peoples bikes who work perfect with no issues you will never hear from.
@@GCPerformance18 Maybe do a QC critique on the next big frame that comes your way. Thanks for engaging.
@@SgtFinaldoif you did not know we own a bike shop that has been here for 40 years I have worked for 15 years here. We sold treks specialized bmc Scott pinarello felt Orbea’s jamis almost every brand out there. Giant. We have seen our fair share of quality control issues. Warranty issues, this is the industry. This is every industry nothing is perfect, I build customers tarmac sl8 almost everyday, work on repairs everyday. It’s my job to fix and find solutions.
12:30 bro let us car guys do our Miami thing man.
lmao they are os annoying
You will love the Berk saddle, arguably the best saddles on the market. Not cheap but you get what you pay for.
I can not wait the saddle i am excited to try
Yes, my fellow Americans keep buying the Chinese made products. We rewarded all businesses to move overseas and you are complaining about the loss of the middle class. We are the cause for allowing our jobs to go to this overseas. That’s capitalism, seek or swim that’s our system. We allowed our government representatives to represent big business and not its citizens. Can’t leave it to the right and can’t leave it to the left, what’s the answer definitely not storming of the Capitol, because is a selfish agenda. What’s the answer??? Start supporting our businesses, does that still produce in the USA.
"seek or swim" for sure daddio. Im gonna email Richard Sachs today to place an order
No for this price point .... to close to big brands with way better support and quality
It’s a nice bike but for the money I’d rather have the new Winspace T1550 gen 2.
Website is the same as 9velo 🤔
never seen them
What does it look like inside the frame? Any wrinkles, voids or creases? What do the bearing seats look like compared to the big bike frames?
I don't get it, that your drivetrain with Alugear chainring is so quiet - I have their 56t 1x12 chainring on dura ace cranks and especially on 3 biggest cogs, the clicking noise is unbearable 🤔
A waxed chain with super secret silca lube works amazing on there
@@GCPerformance18 I was thinking about wax to solve this issue, I will try - thanks for reply
Why are these certain kind of women spamming your comments?
it’s widespread on youtube and has been for the last two years. maybe they just finally found gcp. i report them when I see them. if people don’t report them, then they will grow.
no idea I block them and more come I have no idea how to stop it lol
They never weight what they say. My Trek SLR frame is 890 grams with thick paint. Cost way too much 😞
Emonda? Size?
@@roadie16558 cm, weighted the frame stripped on 2 scales from 890-900 grams. I can tell the paint is on there thicker than a specialized one. Most frames with real paint ( not paper thin ) don't weigh what they say. I've seen it so many times. If I have money I would get a lawyer to stop the games they play. 3,000-4,000 dollar frame should weigh what they say!!!!
I can’t believe that you put a $4K groupset on a ChiCom Frameset. 😅
It rides fuggin amazing!!!
Just watched PT's video on tavelo, how are they charging these money but produces such crap quality?
Lmfaooo
It’s funny how people love Coca Cola and Walmart. I on the other hand love having things others don’t. I have an arrow and a seka spear on order. You will never find me on a tarmac. Leave that to the sheep.
On website video it show grey/black frameset...is that available? Sweet bike!
this is th eludacris color race black
@@GCPerformance18 cool thanks. Tavelo has a video on their website, shows one being ridden but it's gray and black I believe or maybe not grey but almost a teal.... Bro nice bike! Currently riding a 2020 venge may have to trade it in hahahaha
Boring colour, why not that gorgeous coral fade or the other cool fades they do?
I love it for sure
Hi GC, how's this bike compaired to the winspace agile? Which would you prefer and why? Thanks!
Hello - "Peak Torque" gave a negative review on the frame ua-cam.com/video/XKGb5GN0kS8/v-deo.html - I was thinking of buying it - any thoughts? thanks
Everything I said in this video I stand by. My experience with this frame I had no issues building up with bottom bracket or the steerer plug because I’m use to it. The bb is a plastic SHIMANO one but I have a nova to ride bb coming
@@GCPerformance18 thanks
Peak torque………..
yea he made a video
I can’t belive you didn’t weight it!😂 I know in the previous video you were disappointed…I think you were lucky the frame was just over 1000grams. 170g for paint and 2 sizes up is ridiculously good! White paint alone from manufacturers can easily add 2/3 grams.
I’m also looking at this frameset as my first disc build as I’m part of the oh so hated “rim brake mafia”!
Can you share your saddle height on this bike and your experience with the steerer tube/headset system. I’ve read a lot of people do not like the “D” shape system.
Thank you for sharing this video!
BB(boring black)
I like the raw carbon
Your whole “thing” it’s just like an MLM seminar
hahahaha alright I gain nothing from you buying this
no china ever
hmmm
damn that thing looks fucking great
yea I love it
I’m not to firm on buying this frame. Don’t know how their quality control is in china
No problem
Wow, another review of a free bike from a Chinese manufacturer.
what would you want to see? another new bike model from another manufacturer? you dont seemed amused either way
@@GCPerformance18 I enjoy your channel, just get tired of Chinese companies sending out free bikes to youtubers for mostly positive reviews. Your channel is excellent for industry news and tech tips. Ben Delaney is doing the best bike reviews, & David Arther has become almost unwatchable. I'm a big fan small mom & pop bike shops, and do worry about the impact of the direct to consume model. Not sure direct to consumer is helping our sport in the long run. However there does need to push back to control pricing from the big manufacturers. As for your channel, I would like to see you interview actual new bike buyers. Why did you pick the SL8, Madone, Tavelo, etc... maybe spending 15 minutes going through the bike and talking about the decision process. Thanks for your time!
Same bike, totally different review result: ua-cam.com/video/XKGb5GN0kS8/v-deo.html
Yea wild. I have been getting DM like crazy. I still stick by build and ride on it. I had 2 great rides on the black frame and absolutely loved how the bike performed. To me yea the headset steerer is more difficult then a normal steerer but nothing a bike shop hasn’t seen. It’s very similar to a Colnago c64 steerer. These things we encounter in our field and we adapt to building them. The bike to me felt very nice. And right now I’m choosing it more over the sl8 because I had fun on it
I know tavelo are former winspace staff. Im confident that the quality is good. But im not keen on the frame design. I really dont like that style of transition between fork and frame. The wins pace transition between fork and frame and design generally is visually much more appealing.😢
All is great until there is a warranty issue.
'Your parents don't love you' 😅
Lmaooo
Not impressed!
Love u GC Performance for many years but that’s China crap…
:) no problem but i really do enjoy riding this bike and this frame
