I love how swiftly Johnny changed the subject to "nice water" when ted pointed out how pointless it is to go digital with consoles but stay physical on handhelds.
The trick I found to keeping the final boss out of your way is to put 5 winged Pikmin on Olimar and use the go here function to have Brittany run in a circle. The Plasm Wraith isn't particularly smart, since it basically goes straight for your captain instead of trying to cut you off. You can keep it occupied while the others solve the puzzles, while having Brittany progress to different places to run in circles, so she'll be close to the exit once you open the way out. I find the easiest way to do this segment is to use 1 day to get Olimar outside, and then the next day(s) can be spent fighting the boss. Also, that ball isn't meant to hit the Plasm Wraith only. It can shatter the glass wall in one shot to get to the Bomb Rocks faster. The safest way to fight the final boss is basically to use nothing but Rock Pikmin. All the boss's elemental attacks can be avoided, and his regular form's "stab and eat" attack can't kill Rock Pikmin since they can't be skewered. It'll take a while since you can only attack by knocking pieces off and smashing the Crystal form, but it's the easiest way to pull off a no death run of the Plasm Wraith. For Pikmin 2, the final boss is usually considered to be the Titan Dweevil in the Dream Den, since that's the boss guarding Louie, which is the main reason you went back to the planet.
Looks like Ted doesn't know about the ultra-fast way to kill the Quaggled Mireclops - bring Rock and Winged Pikmin, break the crystal the normal way. Once you expose the fruit-thing, switch to only Winged. Once you knock it down, use a Spicy Spray and start running counter-clockwise on the boss around its fruit-thing, throwing Winged Pikmin as you go. Once the tongue reaches about halfway, maybe a little past that, charge all of your Winged Pikmin. Ordinarily, if you do this, it'll hiccup and throw all of your Pikmin off. However, it can't hiccup when the tongue is in its retracting animation. So what you end up with is a crapload of Winged Pikmin all hopped up on Spicy Spray attacking the boss for way longer than they should be allowed to. Really good players can kill this thing in under a minute doing this, but even average players should be able to kill it in just one phase.
1:27:24 while I realize that miyamoto saying that pikmin 4 is close to completion could mean that we still don't see it for years it's kinda funny hearing ted say this after we get confirmation that nintendo is at least definitely working on pikmin 4. it's kinda like what happened with majora's mask 3d & ted's prediction on that.
By the way the final boss doesn't like water. In the final area have olimar in the water so the wrath just walks back and forth and you can get stuff done.
+Mathieu Leblanc (The Animation Pit) They didn't have time to cover all Nintendo games, so they had to cut some games from the Nintendothon. And since Pikmin 2 is Ted's least favorite Pikmin game, they might as well skip it.
Mario9919 I noticed that all of the games Ted recorded had rather low audio to the point I almost couldn't hear it. Must be due to his recording methods...
Actually, thinking about it, Pikmin 2 has I'd say more overall territory for the above ground zones. - Valley of Repose is pretty original all around, or at least I can't correlate it to anything in aesthetic or level design. - Awakening Wood is different enough from Forest of Hope, at least as much as the difference between an Act 1 and Act 2 in S3&K - Perplexing Pools reuses the most in terms of set pieces. - Wistful Wild combines 2 areas, as the Impact Site and Final Trial were really not substantial enough to be counted as areas even in combination. Pikmin 1 essentially had 3.5 areas to Pikmin 2's 4 areas.
The weird thing is, Pikmin 3 is made to be more organic and less like a diorama... and yet, I find it way more... sterile... than 1 and 2... I don't know why. also not a fan of the juice thing... well animated mind you, but I think it's a step back.
If I had to pick something, it's the enemies for me. Something about the detail added to some of them, particularly the bulborbs, kinda makes them look less organic. Maybe it's the gloss they gain, or maybe it's just the fact that they're less stylized, but the art style for this game doesn't mesh quite as well for me because these enemies were designed to be more wacky and stylized.

His way of saying shut it. XD
+Igeljäger yeah, it's exactly the other way around LMFAO
I always do it the other way around: Physical with consoles and digital on handhelds.

Dear god the Onion in this game is soo hypnotizing. Look at them prety colours. Love the lava lamp effect on it such a nice touch.
The most odd meats i eaten are. gator tail, emu, frogs legs, dear, grass hoppers, octopus, squid and snails. I hope to try fried tarantulas one day.

when John first mention Jason "blazehenry"
also when Nathan (not derrick) told him about the dancing squid bowl
Never seen Pikmin 3 in action. Looking forward to this.
Peace, Billy
Finally finished seeing the normal run, now just have to watch the incentive games

yes, XD Ah Ted was probably thinking about this playthrough when he found out the news.
wow audio/video synch is really laggy

47:45 I don't think 15,000$ is enough to buy a yacht.
It might be enough to put a down payment on a yacht though....
wait Andre hates Uprising (readies shotgun)
in fairness yeah the control can give hand cramps but it never bothered me
That's why it's best to not play the game on a 3DS XL. It's best to use either a regular 3DS or in my case, a 2DS.
Scott Pilgrim got pulled since Ubisoft's licence with Universal ended
How come they skipped Pikmin 2 ?
+Mathieu Leblanc (The Animation Pit) I don't know. Hope they cover 2 and this game on BSC soon.

I believe Ted said it was too long and unfocused for the marathon. Plus he just straight up doesn't like it.
99sonder Who will play it for BSC then?
Mario9919 Just because he likes it less than 1 and 3, doesn't mean he's not gonna do it for BSC.
what's with the audio in this video? I play it on my surround sound but it only comes out of the controller of the wii u
Wow, bombing your pikmin in a spiderweb? This was not your thon Ted.
3:12:50 YUP, THAT'S A RESET
The sound sounds so low in this video. Ted should of turned up the game volume up a bit.

Is it bad that I lost over 1000 Pikmin my first time through this game? To be fair it was my first Pikmin game tho...
Umm, Pikmin 2 *does* have new individual areas Ted, just not any new level themes or nearly as many areas as Pikmin 1.
