Mostly everyone Gotta Shift through some gears during the Burnout procees. When may car was a Standard i left it in 3rd, when i swapped to a 3-Speed Automatic, i Started in First, then immediately into Second, Then High Gear which is Third in my Trans. You gotta get enough Tire Speed to Actually get Tires to Smoke. If you try doing a Burnout with a Car with Low Rear Gears like 4.56, 4.88, 5.14, etc. And leaving it only in First, your Not gonna generate Enough Tire Speed to Even make the Tires Smoke. Jason ain't doing nothing special here, it's pretty much what everyone Does at the Dragstrip, Who knows what there doing.
Some might say that lol. 3X NHRA Pro Stock Champion 51 career NHRA wins 2004 NHRA Rookie Of The Year! Jason & his teammate the great Greg Anderson were an unstoppable force in the Pro Stock class throughout the 2000's & 2010's. These guys are seriouly bad ass drivers!
Old School racers did this so they can read the Spark Plugs at WOT, now there's not much need to do that with all the Data Loggers nowadays. If he's running in Legitimate NHRA Stock Eliminator Class Data Loggers aren't Allowed, i believe, think it falls under the No Electronics. But I'm not 100 % on the Rules, i know Electronics like Delay Boxes Definitely Not Legal.
Dude builds some serious motors and races a buick! Love it
I like how that thing launched!
I like the way he made the burnout . The shifts sequence . You can see this man is a real pro

Dinner is served; 🔥 well done
Impressive would be an understatement.!
He made a 9 second pass gloveless!
I didn't think that was possible! Oh wait, this wasn't an NHRA event.
Car runs in the 10s IIRC
My. First. Car. Buick. Skylark
Mine too, and I still have it 40+ years later
I'd like to know how he makes that kind of power built to spec. Pretty amazing!
Is simple... Jason Line is all you need to know.
@@ClassRacer Well, there is that, lol!
Stock Eliminator requires stock lift on the cam, but you can run extreme duration, as can be heard in the video.
Love my Buicks! Just wondering, what’s the purpose of shutting it down so fast?
Engine builders like the motor shut down after the run is over... they say its easier on parts to shut down early.
