2023 Distinguished Alumnus: John C. Goff - Acceptance Speech - Nov. 3, 2023

BBA ’77, Life Member- John Goff is a private investor based in Fort Worth who made his fortune selling his Crescent Real Estate to Morgan Stanley for $6.5 billion in 2007. He co-founded Crescent with Richard Rainwater in the early 1990s and grew the company as vice chairman and CEO from its $500 million IPO to the $6.5 billion sale. In 2009, he reacquired Crescent in a partnership with Barclays Capital, and in 2017, became the principal owner of Crescent, including properties such as the Ritz-Carlton Dallas and Canyon Ranch resorts. Goff serves as chairman for Crescent, Canyon Ranch as well as Crescent Energy. He was inducted into the McCombs School of Business Hall of Fame in 2014 and the Texas Business Hall of Fame in 2020.
