When faker smashed Gen G 1v9 style in game 3, I was thinking how exciting Worlds this year would be, faker, maple, GRF, TL, RNG, IG, GAM, I'm some what disappointed that SKT is not making to worlds, but its understandable, one man can only do so much until the leaking ship sinks to the bottom of the ocean.
GAM failed to make worlds, Griffin still need to win 2 best of 5s to go to worlds, TL will be lucky to make it to quarters, and RNG and IG look incredible. Don't forget KT and AFS. They look like they'd do well too.

Hey man! I feel you brother, as a fellow SKT fan. I can't even blame Faker or Bang. Blank and Untara were just too much of a burden for them to carry. At least they took Gen G to 5 games, gave me some moments of joy and excitement throughout the series.
I know how you feel, it's depressing, and honestly the people that are insulting SKT or are happy about their loss are either kids or don't really enjoy eSports but only a particular team. It's not about SKT losing, it's about a HUGE dynasty losing their momentum in a fashion none of us thought was possible. People said after 2017 "they'll be back stronger", but they fell even harder. It's a historical moment for eSports and you don't have to be a fan of SKT to feel the sadness of these giants being crushed.
Why sad? is a difficult competition. Geng was destroyed in the first and third game of this series and I felt the fourth game was from SKT ... unfortunately geng played very well. Cheer up
Blank seems to be having the same issues as Svenskeren when he was on TSM, I think theres way too much pressure on him to perform since he had Bengi and Peanut in earlier season to rely on. Also Blossom hasn't played since the round robin reset.

Honestly, I do think Blank isn't fit for the team anymore and SKT should rebuild arround Faker while keeping Bang but there's another problem that I don't see people talking about; those drafts were garbage too (let's pick Sejuani without banning Trundle and 3 losing lanes because yes), coaching staff hasn't done anything good this year either and it's should be rebuilt as well, isn't just the players... Also having faker play these support main picks as mid pick is very questionable in worlds having him play karma mid in that position where he needed to be a carry was a bad choice faker needs to play carry role and carry champion plain and simple.
they always think playing late game comp and losing lane is their best way to win but every team right now know how to snowball from early pressure and strong lane. They use to have this when playing Huni Peanut or Duke/Marin Bengi, but Blank can’t put pressure in the map he struggle too much. They need Early game player with strong champion pool when Bang and Faker can carry later.
IF they want to regain the form they had before, they NEED to drop Blank and Untara. They are nowhere near the level of Faker and Bang, and they aren't getting the support they need on their carry roles.
Fyi blank and untara were the clutch subs when bengi and duke was still playing, 2 years later they dont have any meaningful improvements and remain as clutch subs status. They werent the direct problems, problem is Skt did not sign any worthy player throught the off seasons, overall I'd say this season is mostly on the org fking up the off season.
Untara is actually doing better than Thal, and Blossom lost his confidence on stage when he fucked up in the round robin stages. So they have no choice but to put in Blank.

I used to think Untara wasn't fit for competitive play, but this series he has grown and I believe he can be consistent, what irks me is Blank and Effort specially in game 5... Blank was on the back foot most of the games, even against ambition. Vision game was weak, pathing was predictable. Effort... was straight up dying for no absolute reason...
SKT should fired all those extra sub player. They need a top tier Toplaner like MaRin so that he could carry game and take some weight off Faker shoulder(Too bad SKT can't afford to pay more for better player zzz). Also they really need a Jungler that will roam and gank mid and support Faker bcuz Faker is SKT hyper carry. And support, bring back Wolf as he has perfect synergy with Bang

I was so nervous about the result of this game and couldn't watch live. I can't breathe in the last game. It has been so depressed since finals 2k17. I missed the Faker with broccoli. Maybe the day Faker retires is the day I quit League. Legends never die and best wishes for him.
Blank plays because they need a jungler, they can't just leave that spot empty lol. They have Blossom and Blank, both have their issues but Blank sometimes shows up.. so, yeah. Thal is inconsistent in the top lane and Untara has been away for a long time so you'd have to assume he was practising hard and maybe they thought he was ready to get back in. It's also very surprising to see people always criticise Blank, Thal and Untara but many seem to ignore Effort. Effort is so inconsistent, and you can't use the excuse "He's not experienced" but then also blame Thal who is less experienced. Remember, they've been playing with Effort since 2017.
SKT isn't an attractive team for really good players...the pressure is enormous and they aren't even one of the top 5 teams in korea...you have to fit in a special role and if u don't do well enough everybody hates you,just look in this comment section, what they are saying about blank and untara...
Reading the comments of fanboys but me, not being an skt fanboy, I can say that it’s not top Laner fault or jungle... they had peanut and huni but still lost. Blank also had an outstanding performance in worlds. I think it’s mostly cuz of synergy issue.. their play styles aren’t working too well together.
The draft is the biggest problem, that rarely secure winning matchup esp in jungle. With losing matchups in top and scaling mid, they can't help the jungler, but Blank still plays aggressively and died 4/5 first blood in the series. Then he needed to catchup in camps and there's no pressure on the map, and the scaling never comes before the end. Bang wasnt monster-enough to carry before 2+ items, and Untara can only play defense if not feeding... then you really need the man in mid lane on an early game threat to create pressure himself = 1v9. Last year it's Huni's over-aggression back-firing sometimes and draft issues... plus the Ardent shit. This time they dont have much talent and the draft is worst.
Blank choking as always, Effort getting caught in 5 games. Bang is being inconsistent(teammates lacks in peeling) being left behind by Ruler who does the winning plays in Gen G. Untara doesn't do flanking plays like MaRin USUALLY does that makes Faker and Bang have opportunities to finish games. And since S7 worlds, SKT has been doing these weird draft picks after winning games that loses them EVERY winning series.*(Faker Lulu Seriously?)* They're doing weird play-making decisions that leaves them in a 3v5 situation. I feel like they're already throwing games before it does even start.
Thank you for making these highlight videos, honestly I don't have as much time on my hands as I did before to follow the games. Especially now with the lower motivation with SKT struggling xp. I'll always still be supporting them and keep hoping they can will get back up, Faker will always be that legendary player no matter what!

People all around blaming individual members. They had a season to fix this. They didnt and now they are not like before. Faker will defenetly be missed, but that doesnt mean the world tournament will be less interesting, if that is the case for you then you may step back and look at the teams who defeated skt throughout the season. They earned their spot. Blaming Blank ( an awesome player back then) and Untara is disrespectful, they had bright moments in their careers but you quickly forget that when the team is losing, that is no sign of a True SKT fan.

This is really hard. I started playing in Season 2, and sure, every region had their respectable teams to root for, whether it was TSM, Fnatic, Samsung, you name it. The ranking system was different, people were still starting to get into League, and I remember making a few friends. Then SKT came. Winning 3 years, having the most hypest plays and having some of the most awesome matches regardless of outcome, SKT became something every region looked up to. In a way it united everyone: "Who can kill Faker 1v1? Bengi destroying jungle! Wolf is Sjokz's main!" Yes they were the team to beat, but they were the team that I feel really brought this community globally together, and I'm happy we all got to experience this. Maybe the meta has changed. New faces pop up, individuals are carrying harder, better coaches, whatever the reason. Despite where SKT is now, I'll always thank them for being the people I looked up to playing this game.
I'm kinda sad to see that SKT are not going to worlds. I knew the miracle run wasn't likely to happen but it is a shame. I don't know what SKT will do now. They seem to have a hard time trying to get good players to join for 2018 and missed out. So they might have a hard time getting good players for 2019. But I do hope that Griffin qualify for Worlds now, because it would be an amazing story for a challenger team to get promoted to the Pro League and then get to Worlds in the same year. Even though that has happened in the past. Most notably with SKT in Korea and Origen in EU. It still would be awesome.

I think that the roster Huni-Peanut-Faker-Bang-Wolf was the best ever at SKT's carrier. Such a good chemistry between the players! I actually enjoyed so much watching them play together and now I feel kinda bad they are not in the same team.I want them so much!! They most likely have to do something about the team and the coaching staff Bengi and Poohmandu hasn't been showing much promise as coaches and kKoma just seems so out of character Their only good and more consistent players are Faker and Bang. Effort has talent but still doesn't have the same punch that Wolf had in their previous World Championship runs
They have a chance to rebuild for next season, and I know they can win again since this already happened to them, this off season they could sign players that will fit the team, the era isn't ending yet, since i do think that they will be hungrier than ever to get the summs cup again

There was Thal on Skt thrughout this whole season and this was the first appearance of untara for this season. He wasn't that bad considering the role and situation hes in. I still don't understand why Faker has to play Chamos like Lulu. He has to carry ma bois. You can play a "Support the Faker Team Comb" but not a "Protect the ADC comb"
Honestly, LCK teams feel a bit weak this year, chances are higher than ever that China will win worlds this year since they seem stronger. When it comes to Faker and SKT, I'm disgusted he has to pick LULU or KARMA mid. When will SKT understand that Faker's playstyle doesn't go well with being support. I think everytime Faker plays Lulu they actually lose the game. I don't even think that Lulu is meta, so what's the point? Let Faker pick Zed, Leblanc, Ahri, Irelia, such champions you know he's a monster no matter the meta. He can't carry with Lulu. As for the rest of the team, I agree they do underperform, they are almost like rookies compared to world class players with years of experience like Gen's jungler Ambition (who was midlane years ago) and top lane Cuvee. I hope SKT can improve and practice hard together to see them winning worlds next year.
Their jungle is always losing in draft, bot needs to scale and top is playing defensive 24/7. Putting Faker on Lulu works in 2015 when Marin is playing aggressive and Bang out talented other adcs. Now they dont have pressure anywhere on the map... LCK teams wants to play around vision but Riot doesnt want it so they removed green wards in shop, sightstones and tracker's knive... but most LCK teams still live in the past meta so China's aggressive playstyle beats them anytime.

SKT didn't look good since the summer split last year. It was already a herculean effort getting to the world's finals in their previous form, but somehow they were in even worse form throughout this year. I really hope next split Faker will be in a better team, whether it is still SKT or not.

I really do not understand how players like Blank and Untara still playing for SKT.
Blank plays because they need a jungler, they can't just leave that spot empty lol. They have Blossom and Blank, both have their issues but Blank sometimes shows up.. so, yeah. Thal is inconsistent in the top lane and Untara has been away for a long time so you'd have to assume he was practising hard and maybe they thought he was ready to get back in. It's also very surprising to see people always criticise Blank, Thal and Untara but many seem to ignore Effort. Effort is so inconsistent, and you can't use the excuse "He's not experienced" but then also blame Thal who is less experienced. Remember, they've been playing with Effort since 2017.
Blank was good in others years, but his era on SKT just ended.
Guille López they pay a lot of money for faker so they have to keep this line up but next year they will change it if they want to win worlds again
SKT isn't an attractive team for really good players...the pressure is enormous and they aren't even one of the top 5 teams in korea...you have to fit in a special role and if u don't do well enough everybody hates you,just look in this comment section, what they are saying about blank and untara...

Reading the comments of fanboys but me, not being an skt fanboy, I can say that it’s not top Laner fault or jungle... they had peanut and huni but still lost. Blank also had an outstanding performance in worlds. I think it’s mostly cuz of synergy issue.. their play styles aren’t working too well together.

The draft is the biggest problem, that rarely secure winning matchup esp in jungle. With losing matchups in top and scaling mid, they can't help the jungler, but Blank still plays aggressively and died 4/5 first blood in the series. Then he needed to catchup in camps and there's no pressure on the map, and the scaling never comes before the end. Bang wasnt monster-enough to carry before 2+ items, and Untara can only play defense if not feeding... then you really need the man in mid lane on an early game threat to create pressure himself = 1v9.
Last year it's Huni's over-aggression back-firing sometimes and draft issues... plus the Ardent shit. This time they dont have much talent and the draft is worst.
Blank choking as always, Effort getting caught in 5 games. Bang is being inconsistent(teammates lacks in peeling) being left behind by Ruler who does the winning plays in Gen G. Untara doesn't do flanking plays like MaRin USUALLY does that makes Faker and Bang have opportunities to finish games.
And since S7 worlds, SKT has been doing these weird draft picks after winning games that loses them EVERY winning series.*(Faker Lulu Seriously?)*
They're doing weird play-making decisions that leaves them in a 3v5 situation. I feel like they're already throwing games before it does even start.

Thank you for making these highlight videos, honestly I don't have as much time on my hands as I did before to follow the games. Especially now with the lower motivation with SKT struggling xp. I'll always still be supporting them and keep hoping they can will get back up, Faker will always be that legendary player no matter what!

Why are people blaming Faker when he's playing with the worst SKT lineup in history?
People all around blaming individual members. They had a season to fix this. They didnt and now they are not like before. Faker will defenetly be missed, but that doesnt mean the world tournament will be less interesting, if that is the case for you then you may step back and look at the teams who defeated skt throughout the season. They earned their spot. Blaming Blank ( an awesome player back then) and Untara is disrespectful, they had bright moments in their careers but you quickly forget that when the team is losing, that is no sign of a True SKT fan.

This is really hard. I started playing in Season 2, and sure, every region had their respectable teams to root for, whether it was TSM, Fnatic, Samsung, you name it. The ranking system was different, people were still starting to get into League, and I remember making a few friends.
Then SKT came. Winning 3 years, having the most hypest plays and having some of the most awesome matches regardless of outcome, SKT became something every region looked up to. In a way it united everyone: "Who can kill Faker 1v1? Bengi destroying jungle! Wolf is Sjokz's main!" Yes they were the team to beat, but they were the team that I feel really brought this community globally together, and I'm happy we all got to experience this.
Maybe the meta has changed. New faces pop up, individuals are carrying harder, better coaches, whatever the reason. Despite where SKT is now, I'll always thank them for being the people I looked up to playing this game.
I'm going to miss the times when Blank was the savior of SKT and his undefeated streak from 2017.

I'm kinda sad to see that SKT are not going to worlds. I knew the miracle run wasn't likely to happen but it is a shame. I don't know what SKT will do now. They seem to have a hard time trying to get good players to join for 2018 and missed out. So they might have a hard time getting good players for 2019. But I do hope that Griffin qualify for Worlds now, because it would be an amazing story for a challenger team to get promoted to the Pro League and then get to Worlds in the same year. Even though that has happened in the past. Most notably with SKT in Korea and Origen in EU. It still would be awesome.

Lots of comments here blaming blank and untara, I agree with that blame on blank but untara is not the one should be blamed. There was Thal on Skt thrughout this whole season and this was the first appearance of untara for this season. He wasn't that bad considering the role and situation hes in. There must be reason why he appeared 5 in a row even though it was his first offical game of this season.

LCK teams wants to play around vision but Riot doesnt want it so they removed green wards in shop, sightstones and tracker's knive... but most LCK teams still live in the past meta so China's aggressive playstyle beats them anytime.

SKT didn't look good since the summer split last year. It was already a herculean effort getting to the world's finals in their previous form, but somehow they were in even worse form throughout this year.
