I love the way they explain the origins of the Autobot and Decepticon names. There's an old joke about how the Decepticon's are so obviously evil they literally have deceive in their name but this flips that idea on it's head; Megatron takes Sentinel's betrayal and how he deceived all of Iacon as a moniker for how his people will never be controlled in that manner again. It's a mark of defiance against tyranny, not an indicator of their methodology. While Optimus wants the cogless miners to be free of their shackles and have freedom of choice in their lives and become autonomous beings.
@@tristanlee8495 I like that for the explanation of the Autobot's name but my favorite for the Decepticons still the aligned continuity one where that name was given to them by the high council as a way to make them an obvious public enemy to what started as a social revolution against corruption and slavery
I saw it last night, it was a special screening event and it was PACKED. The kids laughed, the adults were grinning ear to ear, it was a great time. I like while there were many nods and references to the lore, it wasn't "HEY LOOKIT THE THING" key-jangling nostalgia bait.
Oh, another thing I loved was the action choreography. I loved how the Transformers, you know, constantly transformed. Like, they went back and forth all the time in battle, using mid-transformations to duck and weave through attacks and give themselves the upper hand, it was phenomenal
The only problem with Bay still having some influence is they will still try to force all these movies to still be in the same continuity even if it makes zero sense. There is a major event here that definitely adds another contradiction.
I saw you guys there back in July! Very glad to hear you guys enjoyed it! I invited one of my Sydney friends to come along (He had no clue about Transformers) and he said he'll just hand me all the merch they gave us. AFTER the film he genuinely wanted to keep all the merch as he enjoyed the film so much! I don't even think he was expecting to like it so much!
Incredible movie, the best we’ve gotten in Transformers in a long time. I really hope this movie brings in a lot of newer and/or younger fans, because we really need them for the sake of brand longevity and this film is a brilliantly written starting point. I hope Transformers One becomes many people’s 2007-movie core memory, and I’m excited to see where things go from here!
Diamondbolt is one of my favorite youtubers, and I'm so glad to hear he loved it. I just got back from seeing an early screening, and I'm happy to say this is my favorite Transformers movie!
News has been circulating that if this movie does well, then there will be sequel, and with that in mind, PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DO WELL AT THE BOX OFFICE!!!
my only issue with the core premise was the main line-up. It shouldn't have been Bee, it should've been Starscream, so we can establish why him and Megs are still working together despite Starscream being... well, Starscream. And I think they honestly could've still used him for comedy as well without loosing anything important for him, too
If anything it should have been dion I know he’s not as marketable as the others but if they just swapped him and bumblebee nothing would have changed cause hes practically a blank slate but I just feel like it lines up more with the origins
I just got out of the theater. Watching this in IMAX was the best idea I ever had. Seriously, THIS WAS FANTASTIC!!!! Also, ILM doing this. That explains why I was reminded of Ultraman Rising throughout the movie
Transformers One was hella good! For me all the referances killed mez especiali A-A-Tron, that was absolutely hilarious to me! I'm so happy I saw it today! It was awesome!
Just watched it earlier today, it was absolutely amazing. 11/10. Minus 2 fight scenes that felt a little too fast paced, it was spectacular. The theater literally clapped after it.
Just watched. Pleasantly surprised. Was a good movie with a ton of fan service. That third act/final battle was epic. D-16s transition was a tad fast, but you understood he’s reasoning for hatred of Iacon, but not necessarily why he’d turn on his friend so hard.
I just saw the movie and it made me cry like happy tears from how good it was Also 10:15, which gag was that again that had the whole theatre laughing- WAIT IT WAS THE FAKE TRANSFORMATION RIGHT
I saw it last night and was absolutely blown away, easily the best Transformers movie in my opinion, and I'm probably gonna go see it again on opening night! I loved the way they handled everything, and this movie better get a sequel because it feels like we're only just getting started with these versions of these characters
Megatron was my favorite character in the movie. I loved his descent from D-16 to Megatron. From the moment he got the transformation cog you could tell he started to change.
I just watch it. Without spoiling the movie was really good by story, animations, and plot. Now i just hope it Will get many sequel either 3 more movie would be nice
Just saw an early access screening. This is probably my personal favorite Transformers movie, as someone who already liked the live action movies so far.
The film looks great. I already read spoilers since Britain gets it in October and I'm unable to attend the early screening, and it makes me more excited for it. Also, the Studio Series figures look awesome, especially that Sentinel Prime.
im looking forward to TF:One thing about the designs is that while i wasn't sure how i would feel about the faces of some characters (Orion and D-16 for example), the more i looked at it the more it really grows on me (it gives me 2d Dreamwork animation vibes for some reason)
I was at the fan-screening as well, and this movie has me wanting to break my rule of not going to see a movie in theatres. (Because tickets are the same price as a DVD here, and I might as well wait because I'm not paying double for the movie, and I don't give a crap about the 'theatre experience')

I honestly thought it dragged a little bit at the beginning and the ending unfortunately seemed rushed. However, staying till the very end of the credits got me HYPED for an eventual sequel. Overall, 9.5 out of 10
My first impressions of the trailer were literally why do Optimus Prime, and Megatron look like Rockem' Sockem' Robots? The only thing about that first trailer that really sold me was the buddy/buddy relationship characterized between Orion Pax, and D16 before they are opposing hero/Villain. A direction I don't feel we've really seen explored to this extent. Other than that it just looked genuinely fun, and a real departure from the politically/war heavy lore of IDW/WFC. Seeing it recently I went in pretty much blind save the first trailer and had very much the same experience as the trailer really only centers around the first half of the movie. I too though this was just the main four discovering the ability to transform but that's dispelled almost at the very beginning. The joke I think he's referencing in the first couple of minutes when Orion pax is first caught, was pretty unexpected as the finger joke teased in the trailer was a perfect follow up to that, just not as clever. As obnoxious as Bee was at the start of the film I thought it really payed off when they later encounter the more prominent Decepticons and Shockwave. Shockwave, and the rest didn't have a lot do overall, but the film actually did more with them in the second half than I expected going in. Speaking of which this film really does pick up in the last 20/30 minutes and definitely feels cut short, but resolved in about as good as the run time allows. And nobody really just vanishes, Prime just banishes Megatron from Iacon and the soon to be Decepticons join in retreat to fight another day. As for a follow up not sure how well a Transformers Civil War film would do amongst Family viewers considering One is already not doing so great. While I am optimistic we'll maybe see a return of these characters on the big screen this overall feels like a one and done deal.
i love how they killed like 50 characters somewhat brutaly (two even got ripped in half) in this pg kids movie for kids Edit : we dont talk about what they did in the 86 movie
I agree on the rush thing as i thought it was a strange idea to have B be the one to tell them they could climb up the trash shoot. They shouldve had instead B say he doesn’t know how to leave then have Pax think then glance over at the trash shoot and saying something like “i got an idea… but you’re not gonna like it” then cuts to them climbing
So Transformers are Robots in Disguise, right? So in the film, they find the Armada to get the Energon back to Cybertron (it's pretty Animated.) There was like, 2007 Transformers that took part in the Revenge of the Fallen on the Dark of the Moon with the help of Prime. It really was the Age of Extinction for the Last Knight. Thankfully, after they got RID of him, Bumblebee caused the Rise of the Beast to help the Transformers One more time. (Jokes aside, genuinely a great movie. Stop reading the comments and go watch it!)
I think it was a solid movie, and the highlight really were the action scenes. I think they were really able to capture the unique transformation gimmick of transformers in the fight scenes. overall the movie works but I think there were some plot holes, especially the how megatron and optimus friendship deteriorated, i don't really think the conflict to break their relationship was there, it almost felt like megatron turned out of nowhere. honestly to me it was a 7/8 out of 10
Saw it last night, I think it's best Transformers has to offer to general audiences. No caveats, no huge commitments, general awesomeness with no problems big enough to ruin the movie. It's peak Transformers, but accessible. That's what this franchise really needed imo.

Hey doc. Good to know you got what you want from this movie. Now i wanted to know from your perspective, will the desire of viewers who only watches Transformers for real life blockbuster actions and the stigma of animation/cartoon are only for kids strongly effects the movie's box office? Because end of the day the franchice's mainstream longevity is based on money not positive receptions. Also, i do wanted to watch a diagnosis insanity on Transformers media problem especially with the contexts of your previous videos on 86 movie what if comic and wfc netflix trilogy.
Like imagine this during the first half he is a normal comedic relief checking up on both orion and d-16 (btw i havent seen the movie so my explaination is gonna be very innacurate) but you see him join them as they go to the surface and helps alot because he's a high authorian figure (also the main joke is that he never could say his name) but in the escape it is revealed he was a spy and death trackers (from the blokees) come for them so the senator sacerfices himself and we dont see him for the rest of the movie... until the final half in the final battle with sentinal prime he brings in one of his associates a purple one eyed monster (you know where this is going) so the fight happens blah. Blah blah but when they defeat the associate he says the last words the senator said before sacerficing himself "remember me as i was" and in thar momment... they knew it was their old friend.... shockwave... BUT THATS MY OWN PERSONAL THOUGHTS MAYBE WHEN I SEE THE MOVIE I MIGHT PERFER BUMBLEBEE MORE THAN THIS SHOCKWAVE IDEA
Bumblebee put the ass in badassitron in this movie. Jokes i didnt think he was that bad, i found it funny that he was kinda insane after being kept down in the mines for so long. I'm glad i can finally watch this video after seeing the movie last night
If there is one thing I do worry about, is that Paramount will see this movie succeed in comparison to the last two live action films and ditch that universe or put less effort into it, which really would be a shame as someone who really does like the current live action movie series Looking forward to TF One for sure... but being from the UK, I have to wait a few weeks.. We literally had someone “clap and $h!t themselves when Optimus Prime shows up” in my early US showing yesterday. Had me livid lmao to be right behind them.
OK, so it's still gonna be a week until it comes out in my country so hearing you guys praise this movie that you already confirmed is good in a short for half an hour is just gonna be agonizingly painful to me because the wait is already killing me, gonna keep it in my watch later for now with paperplane's review, see you after a week Doc, until then are there any mid or post credit scenes?
Probably a mix of that and them rushing to production. Many Hollywood films just push and push to have them get done faster, and they just end up looking worse and worse.
Hey Dr lockdown. l will recommend you to buy Planet X Nemeios? (Victory leo) beacause he comes with joints to fix the knees of Planet X Kadmos (fuck it Star saber) and he comes with a better face sculpt with paint(its a head). And if you combined them Oh Boy the sword is phenomenal Leo comes with extra pieces for the sword. And speaking about Leo this figure is fucking fantastic you will not be disappointed the paint, the details, the paint, the gold paint, the sculpt, the paint its majestic. Do an favor for yourself and buy him! Love the video btw And tfone was fantastic
Yeah, pacing was the biggest issues. The first half has way too many action scenes that take from character development. The ending happens so fast that it just feela a bit abrupt. Bee could've been saved for a sequel imo.
No language whatsoever. Younger kids might not understand the deeper themes, but there's nothing too mature for them (aside from the action, but it's robots, so eh)
@@robseman5212There is more violence than films like the Mario movie, there’s definitely a bit more of a darker tone in the movie and sometimes the robots are characterized so well during such scenes as to feel human. Like robots die on screen, brutally. It would depend on how you characterize them and how well you and your child empathize and relate with them.

0:59 Jesus I didn't know he sounded like that
We desperately need a CHUG War Within Megatron
Yeah, the titanium SUCKS
@@DrLockdown I can see you struggling to pose it in the intercut photos 😭
Bro looks like Chris-chan's lost relative. DB mogs holy hell 💀
i watched it saturday (so exactly 2 days ago) i like it more than rotb which is surprising since i wasn't sure but they prove me wrong
There are, but they're pretty much what you'd expect in terms of where the story goes
One of each, 1 mid, 1 post, post credit was mostly shown in trailers but still worth staying for
I always thought RoTB looked a little weightless with the action. I wonder if it's because ILM wasn't doing the animation.
Love the video btw
And tfone was fantastic
Release the Bumblebee blabbering cut Hasbro!!!!!!
Holy crap, wild botposter spotted!
No one laughed out loud in my theatre, cause there was only 3 people on opening day 😶🌫️
Yeah, pacing was the biggest issues. The first half has way too many action scenes that take from character development. The ending happens so fast that it just feela a bit abrupt.
Bee could've been saved for a sequel imo.
He said the thing!
It was so peak, I Saw it today
Good stuff lads!
I’m pretty sure they made bumblebee insufferable on purpose to set up the no voice thing
if they would have toned down the very comedic elements, this would be my favourite tf movie. but it´s a great movie nonetheless
are those fire emlem noises i hear or am i trippin? been playing awakening on my 3ds this month idk i hear the noises but cant tell
Yeah it's the sound I use now whenever a thumbnail from an older video pops up
I loved this movie…
I loved tf one
Giga Adam
What was the spoiler at 10:10 I need to know 😭
It's being released on its own later in the next doc takes volume
Question: is it ok for grade school age kids?? Closer to Super Mario, or more grown? Is there language?
No language whatsoever. Younger kids might not understand the deeper themes, but there's nothing too mature for them (aside from the action, but it's robots, so eh)
@@DrLockdown thanks! How's the violence?
There's only one part that's a bit brutal, but it's obscured enough that it won't be an issue
@@rellko3900thank you!
hello dr
Is optimus in the movie?
