Most subscribers don’t care if you use discontinued items. I feel like that whole thing was something that a beautuber came up with and all other youtubers started saying it and doing it too... but most of us really don’t care if it’s discontinued.

I only have discontinued high end stuff because those were half off and usually more my style.
Totally agree! Just because it's discontinued doesn't mean I can't use similar colours to get the same look. I like to learn how to do the looks no matter what the tool is lol
Yeah I get it, if I was mostly a tutorial channel it would be different, but I mostly focus on reviews, and so I dont want to buy LE palettes anymore cause I want my reviews and videos to always be relevant and something that people are searching for. Its just a choice I've made to help my channel grow. I've said it before, but my collection and how I do my makeup would be vastly different if I wasnt on youtube, and I'm def making sacrifices to help my channel. It makes sense that people dont use LE products. I'm not only targeting my current subscribers with my videos, but also people out there who might stumble across my videos
I don’t mind if something is discontinued. Chances are I have similar stuff in my own collection.
Annette's Makeup Corner Oh I didn’t mean to make it seem like it was directed towards this video. It’s more of grievance of a consumer who can only buy palettes when they’re discontinued.
And that’s great you made that choice and stuck to your guns because all your multiple looks videos are always a treat and should be seen by more people and if not buying LE allows that then that’s great.
I love watching people go through their palettes...even if they dont declutter a lot. Eye shadow palettes are my weakness

Yeah I just cant with all the drama. I hate drama in general and its not what my channel is about, so I try not to let it affect my decisions. Not gonna lie tho, I'm scared of buying any KVD products now even if I want them, because I dont want to stir the pot. It was easier when my channel was smaller and I was just starting out, but now I do feel the pressure of not supporting her. I'll still use what I have, but I doubt youll see a dedicated KVD video on my channel anyway lol. Gotta protect myself now 😂
Ashlee Fore I sooo agree with you! I still shop the KVD site, and I adore Jeffree Star’s liquid lip formula...it’s the best. I don’t care about ONE person’s drama, when so many people are making an income off of the production of that person’s products. Those people that are the actual backbone of the company (that design, produce, market and sell the products) don’t deserve to have their incomes cancelled, imo. These days, people almost need an app to check if it’s “OK” with the SJW bullies to buy from a company. I want to see reviews of everything, regardless of any associated drama. The cancel culture mob shouldn’t be allowed control other people’s purchases with bully tactics. As you can see, this pisses me off.🤦🏻♀️

You're right .. I think most of us watch declutter videos to see people's collection and to get a quick mini review and the odd swatch. I started out watching them hoping it would motivate me to do my own declutter, but seeing some of the indie palettes I didn't know about just made my wish list grow. 😁 They have helped me to go of some of my Boxycharm palettes I don't like or use, which is a good thing.

Juvia’s place are the most absolutely gorgeous palettes I’ve ever purchased. They have such a buttery and creamy formula. I’ve bought every single palette they’ve sold so far and I agree that a couple of the colors don’t blend as well as most of the others. I was buying the other night and they surprised me by sending me a couple containers of highlighter. They are so gorgeous. They will always and forever be my favorite palettes. The shimmers are the best ever!!!

The Balm makes AMAZING products, but I would’ve decluttered their matte palette too. I think you can only have so many neutrals and one or two palettes is enough. There’s enough neutrals in colorful palettes to build a look when needed.
I'm sure the Balm is great, but their aesthetic just doesnt appeal to me. I can see people really liking their packaging and stuff but for me I"m just like 'ehhhh no thanks' lol
Just for the record I watch declutters to see people’s opinions of palettes and if they’re worth keeping. The number you declutter means very little to me. Happy to see your collection!!😊💜
With that CP Makeup Your Mind palette you could also treat it as a z palette when you travel, and take out pans from other CP palettes.

I have been watching decluttering videos for days now and this is by far my favorite!! For once, it wasn't the same color themes over and over again! Also, I'm pretty new to buying eyeshadow pallets, so this was the first video that included pallets I own/am familiar with. *Major* bonus - the High Times pallet will make an awesome gift for a friend of mine who has really helped me out ... and I like it enough to probably buy one for myself - so thank you very much for that!! I will probably come back to this video during weak moments to see what I can take a chance on by ordering online because I love the colors you gravitate towards.

I'm glad you found new homes for those that weren't out of date. It's great for the environment, but also for those less fortunate than us. (And although I don't have palettes to donate, I do donate clothing, bedding etc to my local Domestic Violence shelter. I also buy extra personal products for women every time I shop, save them up and donate every 3 months)

Thats awesome! I'm def gonna look into donating if I get to a point where I have stuff that shelters are gonna want. I doubt they are looking for bright eyeshadow palettes and loose glitters 😂
@@AnnettesMakeupCorner Why not? I mean they don't just want make up for job interviews. They want the women to feel beautiful and confident within themselves... and I'm sure there's plenty of women in shelters that would ROCK a dark purple smokey eye with a teal pressed glitter halo, that had to leave everything behind to leave someone violent. Make-up wouldn't be anywhere in the top ten (top 100?) things they think about when leaving a situation like those that they leave.
Apart from that, they take just about anything as long as it's new/almost new/not too used. I collect feminine hygiene products, adding some to my trolley every week when I shop. Toothpaste, facewash, etc. Then go to second hand stores, find nice handbags/backpacks (in backpacks I often put socks, underwear, etc) Then I fill them with the exact same essentials. Take them to the shelters in groups of 10-20. It's not much, but I find myself buying a lot to donate. It's awesome for your community. ESPECIALLY when funding is reduced or cut by government altogether!

what a fun video to watch. I actually enjoyed more the collection aspect than the declutter. I'm so agree with every word you said about the juvios place palettes! They are stunning. I have an idea for a video for you- juvios place swatch party. But no by palette, by color- all blue shades, all green shades, etc to see how similar or different they are. I have some of they palettes and I really love them, and you happened to have some that I don't own yet so I'm curios how repetitive (or not) the colors are.

Don’t feel pressured to declutter just for the sake of decluttering! It’s always kind of weird to me when youtubers apologise for not decluttering enough. It’s your palette, your choice. Or maybe it’s just the makeup hoarder in me that feels this way hahaha. I would die before I declutter any of my palettes.
Yeah I hear ya. I do enjoy curating my collection tho, and I have no emotional attachment to stuff in general, but yeah I tried to not let go of too much and end up regretting it lol

Great video! Love the collection! I’m so excited about that Natasha Denona palette! I’ve been getting into neutrals while trying to be brave at school wearing makeup in public for these first few times and it’s perfect for that. I actually think I’m gonna start saving up for it now so thank you for opening it and talking about it! That OFRA palette looks cool too! I’ve never tried their shadows though so I have no clue how they would perform.

Yes! Do a video with the Armed & Gorgeous palette! I also have the Dark Magic palette and like you, my eyeshadow application has changed a ton since buying that palette. I want to pull mine out again and do a look.
I'm happy to hear you thought the Huda dupe palettes were good quality even if you don't reach for them too often. I loved Huda palette concepts but after the whole re-releasing the rose gold palette issue, and the consistency of my gemstone collection palettes being so lack lustre compared to all the videos I saw, I'm over Huda for the time being but its nice to know theres somewhere I can still try the colour scheme without paying Huda prices.
I think as much as I was interested in some of the palettes you decluttered, I enjoy knowing at the end of the day what you really reach for. I love your use of colour and it really helps narrow down if a palette I have my eye on is worth it or not.

I'm pretty picky with what I buy these days (saying that I bought like 7 palettes in the past two months lmao), but I def try to look critically at the colors before I buy something and not just fall for cute packaging and what not. I feel like thats really helped me curate my collection now

I hate getting rid of any of my palettes especially if I paid for them! But when the shadows crumble and break I end up never wanting to reach for it. I’ve had this happen a few times now. I either get rid of it or de-pot the remaining shadows. But I do have to say I’m guilty of keeping/hoarding eyeshadow palettes Hehee! Beautiful collection! That menagerie palette with the fox on it is stunning!!!

the only KvD palette I have is The Alchemist, and I love it and the fact that it always gives me an occasion to mock Kat Von Dyphteria's name when crediting it when using it in my looks.

Also I'd love to see a 3 looks tutorial or something with the bh zodiac palette. I keep reaching for the same combos and the palette is a little overwhelming to look at- but the baked shimmers are everything! 😍
Hmm maybe they still have some stock left there or something? I dont think I'll ever get around to doing looks with the BH palette sorry, theres just too many new things that constantly take priority, but I'll keep it in mind if I ever have a free slot to film it

Agree on JP shimmer formula. So good! Another great affordable brand is Looxi. I'm torn on which i love more. Both favs for sure. I'm not a fan of CP shimmer or matte formula. Ive bought 3 palettes (last being good sport) and gave them all away. I still have about 15-20 singles and 10 SSS but only really liked glass bull and banana daiquiri but never use them. I'm solo on a lonely island on that opinion, I know lol
Yes Looxi shimmers are amazing. I dont like their mattes all that much tho. I can see CP being hit or miss with people. Their formula works well with the techniques I use, but I think eyeshadow formulas are quite a personal thing, and some people can have completely opposite opinions on the same formula

I think you did great! The fact that you haven't collect makeup for a long time make it harder to declutter. I have some palettes that I bought maybe 4 years ago when I had a totally different makeup style then I have now and that makes it easier to declutter.
And yes! Rank all your Juvia's Place palettes! And maybe you can do videos where you rank your for example your rainbow palettes or other palettes that have the same layout/ideas (I hope you get what i'm trying to say 😂)
Yeah thats very true. Ive also decluttered before I started my channel and got rid of the older palettes I didnt like, so for the most part my collection is pretty curated. I'll def rank all my juvias palettes

I love my Juvias pallets. I also have the just my luck and I didn't have good luck with it. Maybe I'll give it another try. I did get the Disney princess and villains pallets From colorpop and those are amazing.
