Add a grounding wire to the vacuum hose and it won't shock you anymore. Dust collection hoses with a metal rib are really easy to ground, as you can just strip a little bit of the end and attach it to ground. Otherwise you would probably have to run a grounding wire all the way along the length of the hose.
Being able to move the handle back is so you can get up tight against a wall or into a corner . I.e. if you’re sanding flooring you can move the handle back and get up right to the wall. It’s more of a ergonomic necessity that it is a luxury or convenience.
This sander I was looking forward too but too me it looks like it’s made for a left handed person - I’m a kitchen guy and use sanders non stop for scribing - but ya it looks backwards and useless for me / disappointed
I have an old Craftsman corded belt sander. This would be a nice upgrade in the future. Thanks

I get electric shocks using battery leaf blowers when blowing snow wafts back at me

It does take a bit to get use too. Now, I love it. But I can see how it looks to be for left handed people at first.
