  • @johngolfi
    @johngolfi 8 місяців тому +18

    Hey Zoe, just wanted to say that I really appreciate your cash envelopes videos. It is something therapeutic about seening someone taking their budget and finances seriously! I don´t use the cash envelopes myself, but as you said each their own, if it helps you get your s*it together than do it. I totally understand the extra "effort", as in life if you put in the extra effort it is usually worth it! So keep going at it Zoe and don't let the critics downplay your efforts!

    Another thiing about putting in the extra effort - it teaches you discipline and brings more value to what it is you're doing. Since I started budgeting and using the cash envelope system it has completely transformed how I spend and how I view money. Being more hands on and putting pen to paper (or hands to keyboard/excel spreadsheet!) brings about more awareness. Great video!

    Hello Zoe! I'm glad you could do that activity as a gift for your peace of mind and relaxation. To relax, I make pins, earrings, vases and magnets for the refrigerator with cool drawings and it helps me release stress and think about nothing, creating something. If you want a hobby with it, you can buy air clay and it's super easy to shape with your hands and you don't have to bake it or anything, you just let it dry, so you can start with just the air clay, brushes and paint if you want ❤

    I really wanted to try cash envelopes but living in a country that is very card-focused, makes it more of a hassle. I use my card for everything but I do give myself a budget and I have various savings accounts for everything, like treats, gifts, vacations, and even annual subscriptions. I love to save and all of my accounts have a fairly high interest rate which is paid back monthly so that's another bonus. I'm so happy that using cash envelopes has worked well for you though!

    Love the video! Just wanted to say in regards to the mean comments I truly feel it comes from a place of them not understanding or watching one video/person and timing it has to be done that way only. The best part about budgeting is you can do what works for you. Change what you don't like. I personally charge to my credit card and pay it off every month but that's just what works for me. I track all my expenses twice a week to stay on track and make sure I'm not over spending. For my savings I keep that money with a separate bank to I don't have immediate access and I have binders at home with prop money to see my progress on each goal. Do what works for you ❤ I also think saving is still saving even if you have a purpose for those funds it's just allowing you to be prepared for it ahead of time

      @ZoePritchard  8 місяців тому

    If saving for a vacation, isnt saving because you plan to spend it.... what is saving???? All savings categories are saving because you plan to spend, there might be short term saving or long term saving but what is the point of saving and not ever planning to spend it? I save for retirement but also plan to spend most if not all on retirement... and if I leave some great, but like why would your plan ever entail leaving like everything you save????
