I love the original trilogy soundtrack but I also love Halo 4 vol 1 & 2 soundtracks.
Reason being is they give off different moods:
Halo 1-3: Think of where humans were. Seemingly alone in the universe until first contact. Not only were the Covenant more technologically advanced they wanted to annihilate humanity. Then think back to the first time we set foot on the Halo superstructure. Who were these Forerunners that built these worlds? I was overwhelmed with awe, mystery, but also a sense of purpose. We had an enemy to stop, and an unknown threat looming in the shadows.
Halo 4: The feels from this were different. Humanity was not as fragile as it once was. We had grown strong, the enemy weak. We had reversed engineered a lot of technology and were beginning to establish ourselves even more in the galaxy. But here again, there was an even greater threat with untold power. The Forerunners weren't all dead. Were they friend or foe? The Didact, one of the most tragic characters in Halo, had lost a war with the flood, shunned from the Ecumene, left to die, and cut completely off from the Domain for over 100,000 years. That was just long enough to drive him insane. Halo 4 continues the mystery of the galaxy, but goes much deeper down the rabbit hole. Theres a deep, foreboding mystery in it all. There is also the struggle of the Chief........is he still human or is he more machine, is Cortana really dead, how long must he keep fighting?
All the soundtracks are incredible in my opinion.

Halo 4, Volume 2 sounds much more like a recognizable Halo Soundtrack in my opinion. It seems like all of the more classic halo sounding songs were shoved on V. 2.

I don't know if anyone can help, but I'm looking for the piece of music that plays during the after action report menu during Spartan Ops after you have finished a chapter and are possibly updating your gear and such. It's almost ambient like in its sound and also plays during Didact's Hand Chapter 3 Random Transport when you end up teleporting right into the middle of a swarm of Covenant in the snow.

im honestly super confused abt Halo 4 soundtrack. Like, Kazuma is awesome but his work in Halo 5 aside from a few tracks like the Osiris Suites, Walking Softly, Blue Team and Light Is green the tracks were super super forgettable, nothing like the awe inspiring nature these tracks he made. Idk if Neil Davidge was actually more important is making sure the vision for the OST was consistent and worked with the atmosphere of H4 while still feeling like halo rather than Kazuma going in solo and just putting up souless Halo sounding soundtrack

It's so confusing how people claim the halo 3 campaign was better. Guess they weren't around for its launch because it was really hyped up then disappointing af.
I remember when I played 3 I was super disappointed with it's campaign. I think it was such a downgrade from the Halo 2.
