I LOVE “Flee Mortals!” I use the Minion Rule at my physical table already - my players have really enjoyed feeling like hero’s as they chew through them. This macro will make using it in Roll20 very easy!! Great video! I have also been using Matt’s video on Action Oriented Monsters to make “Boss” versions with Villainous Actions. Combined with this Minion Rule … my players get to chew through mobs and face real threats!!
I can see so many uses for this type of scripting. Thank you Nick for, yet again, another extremely useful video. I'm starting Phase 3 of Tomb of Annihilation for a small group of adventures and will certainly use this in a variety of situations. Keep this stuff coming sir!
If you want the name of the selected minion to appear in the flag, just put {{name=@{selected|token_name}}} and it will appear without having to change the name for each group. I love this macro, sir.
This is an odd one. It seems to me that the purpose of minion rules is to streamline mass combat to the circumstances of the pen and paper tabletop, and once you're automating die rolls in the first place they're kind of the right tool for a job that isn't the one you're faced with.
Is it possible that you provide a overview about every makro/API/trick you use in your games? Like a full modded game. There are so many possibilities that its difficult to combine everything.
How would initiative come into play? If you have six minions surrounding a character, would they roll initiative as a unit, or individually, and then each has a group attack?

Awesome stuff! Villainous actions + minions = epic encounters that players will remember for a long time.
Was considering running minions but was worried about it getting unweildy. This helps sooo much, thank you!
Glad it was helpful! Happy gaming!

Great tip! And glad you liked the video! Happy gaming!
I'm going to get a lot of use out of this and give my players some epic battles. Thank you.
Fantastic! Happy gaming!
Nice work Nick, unfortunately I don't play D&D so I'll have to see about tweaking for the systems I do play.

That's definitely something I could look into. Thanks for watching, and happy gaming!

They roll initiative as a unit. Happy gaming!
