Not completely disagreeing, it was largely a referendum on Trudeau. But the Conservatives also had a meaningful win. Looking at the results from the last election and comparing them, the Conservatives pulled votes from the Green, NDP, Liberals and PPC. That's a good sign for the Conservatives.

I think if he were really that great a campaigner he would've garnered more than 32% and 33% support in the last two elections. I'd say it's more like he's good at maximizing the yield of seats from votes, but that's really just dumb luck as far as I am aware.

It's crazy to me that basic economics of supply and demand weren't seen as the greatest issue for housing. "The new generation isn't having chilldren". How many in the younger generations are forced to live with their parents because of the exorbitant housing situation across the country. That is the reason they can't afford children right now!
I think the worst part is that Sean Fraser, minister of housing, who was placed in that roll after being the immigration minister, immediately pointed to immigration being an issue for housing ONCE he wasn't the minister for it. Working on reducing the number of students that become permanent residents.

I mean, they worked on the issue this year, but how long did it have to be before logic kicks in? How many young adults have you heard of that are living with their parents instead of going off on their own and growing as a person at a much faster rate? That being said, I really want to hear these concerns with less immigration as a solution addressed from the conservative government...
Our older generation is being prioritized at the expense of the younger generation by importing so many workers and pension contributors, decimating any legitimate immigrant financially through absurd housing costs. If people live longer, the pension age will have to be raised even if people get upset. The conservatives had done so by two years, and the liberals reversed it, promising to fix the deficit in another way. Then spending uncontrollably.
Here we are, significantly worse off because young folks were forsaken. Keeping everyone happy policies were inacted that essentially try to divide groups based on religion, race or gender rather than emphasize the importance of being canadian. The cabinet responsible for the well-being, safety and economy of our country, the most important jobs, were litterally filled by selecting with the purpose of making it gender equal as the priority with the reasoning being "because we're in 2015". That was discriminating against both genders by dismissing qualifications, which is absurdly ironic and sad. Then they push on the liberal website at the very top of their greatest achievements the gender policies that were inacted along with the amount of billions of dollars they spent on creating infrastructure, without going into detail about the spending. Great...... You remember when Trudeau, around 2 years ago, did that speach where he said that people do housing extensions and pay their tuition through credit cards to invest their future..?

The only doubt I have with repealing carbon tax and the conservatives is it produces such whopping mounts of "general revenue" so what will the Cons replace it with. Can't overnight suck that much revenue out of the coffers and still function. I thnk they will have to raise GST 2% or so.
