Great review! As a Damon Lindelof fan, I wouldn't miss this show for nothing. I agree it's kinda all over the place, it's not for everyone, but then again, I can't really say who would like this show or who wouldn't. There's some pretty brilliant stuff there... while also some kinda boring stuff. But it's never pointless and it's really something original and unseen.
I went in expecting to see a commentary on God and Technology. And the show says a lot about that. But, I also knew...having watched The Leftovers and the other shows under the Lindelof helm, that he seems to want to find purpose within Family, all while questioning faith. To me, the AI is the Mcguffin of the show...and simply says in the end "Hey...time to turn off your phone, visit your family and mend some broken parts...oh, and enjoy the great outdoors" (Well, maybe that is what I wanted to see...spirituality is truly a personal feeling, isn't it?)
..|| 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 the example of the car reviving in the garage is apt ….. your review is on point ….. I committed to finishing it though it was an interesting journey throughout ….
I thought of comic book, but now I see how it's an adult cartoon. This would make such a great comic book, someone get on that - make a comic book series.
Esoteric, yes, hilarious, yes. I completely agree - If you can commit to the fact that it is funny then it is an excellent adventure to spend time on! Like Pulp Fiction. If you couldn't approach it with the right sense of humor you may hate it. [Edit]: FWIW, I loved it, and looked forward to each episode. My daughter and I bought in at episode 2. My wife bowed out at the same time.
Imagine Family Guy but without a story, where each episode is just the gags. There are lots of times where I I just stop an episode because I don't get the point of what's happening on the screen. I doubt I'll finish it.

Was extremely fun to me after each episode rewatch the show trailer.

Its a totally different show I fully enjoyed it....

Just finished ep8 and it is awesome. Disney could learn thing or two about creating strong female characters and without emasculating men.
Anyone who found this unfunny should just go back to watching the walking dead, as that what they are.
Episodes 1-6 were fun, but it drops off a cliff after that.
Dude, what? Watch it again.
