The art of each individual square is nice, but put it togetger it just seems exceedingly busy, making it harder to read than it should be for a game like this. Trrying to read the board is difficult, which makes it difficult to easily see possible moves. This just doesn't scan well. It should have had solid, bolder colors and perhaps silhouetted figures/icons that have very easily identifiable profiles. Ah well.
demoweasel Amazing how the boring farming theme had an easier to read board than this one. They dropped the ball MAJORLY here with the graphic design. On Heartland players would naturally talk about potatoes or corn. Here players will only mention the colors. Those red and brown tiles are the worst.
The base board shouldn't have the picture on the colours, I think that's what hurts my eyes. It makes sense for the tiles to have the pictures and let the board become busy that way.
Thanks for the review! I've never heard of this before and I'm forced to game with a pretty simple crowd so this will fit nicely into the collection. Debating this game or carcassonne... Which one...help?
Yup. Dropped the ball with these tiles and Colors. Now instead of corn and potatoes it’s blue and red. How awful... I was looking forward this reprint and was planning on getting it. Not so much now.
Sounds like a fun little game reminiscent of Lanterns or Jaipur in the scoring. It being mean and confrontational however should either complicate or enhance things I think :D
Justin Rizzo That’s a VERY common way to introduce hidden information and a small amount of randomization in a game with otherwise perfect information. It isn’t as big of a deal as you make it seem. And it helps maintain the tension all the way to the end of the game.

I really dislike the color gradients on the tiles.

I've been looking forward to this game for a long time. I couldn't find a release date from Renegade when I last looked.

Loved Citrus so much from Allers, maybe I'm gonna like that as well! Nice review, Tom! Clean is a very good word for this!

This needs a second edition with better graphic design. I’m longing for the clear contrast between potatoes and corn tiles.
You are a funny dude Tom, thanks for the review.
This seems like a game I need to play before I buy it, to make sure I enjoy it
Gunkimono aka the (Qin) "killer" for sure.....😁👍🏼
Oooh. Good comparison. I love both!
Great overview,,, interesting game, but i don't really like "attack the leader" type game, not my style.
Cool
I very much prefer my oroginal version. This looks ugly as hell !!!
A game with randomized VP points for achieving the same goal? Ok, I won't play that game.
