5/0 wisps at round 3 was pushing it. If they didn't send I think you'd still leak a couple at least but yeah. I usually do 2 ghouls, upgrade them as soon as possible, then wisps and anything else. That way you have the strongest 2 ghouls you can get and play normally. I can't imagine building more than 2 be optimal. I'm also not sure if ghoul's perma bonuses count the kills they did from when they were unupgraded so if that's the case then building and not upgrading them means gimping yourself. The reason I stick to 2 is because the more you build, the less chance the newer ones have to last hit as they have less damage and less survivability. You're pretty much paying the extra gold for weak links that probably won't pay off. The extra gold that is included in the fact that every ghoul can keep becoming stronger indefinitly
