Rob sitting on that side... I have a strange thing the universe is about to implode.
ItsTime2Burn you guys who notice that are a special breed that I do not belong to or understand.
Event Horizon Productions Oooooor we just watch a lot of these videos...?
ItsTime2Burn
Oh, damn, ya got me. I have not watched a ton of Rob's videos. And every single person who HAS watched a ton of Rob's videos notices that - it's a law of physics that cannot be broken and has no exceptions.
Event Horizon Productions K
ItsTime2Burn Omg yes
That bit of the intro at the end was very cool!
You are the Top Gear of the You-Tube guitar world
Seriously, this new intro gets more epic every single time you listen to it!
keep using the HFR-cam! It even tends to sharpen the image plus it looks great watching someone playing guitar at 50-60fps ;)
Love your videos, you guys bring so much knowledge thru entertainment. I just enjoy watching you two goof around while providing us with valuable information about gear. Keep at it and just saving my dollars to buy a Chapman guitar soon.
I think that the camera used in the gibson and orange videos looked best.
Great video Rob and Lee.
:-)
I like your vids, because you're not afraid to move the dials around. Giving a better idea of what the pedals do.
the quality on the gibson memphis video was incredible and super smooth, I much prefer that to this one. :)
You're playing really well today, Rob! Sure, you always play well, but today it's even betterer.
Rob get back to the left!
Captain get back to the right!
There we go, the universe can once again sleep soundly....
I much prefer the colour tone of the high framerate camera, also the framerate is great for those who pay attention to the playing. I find the DSLR can look a bit washed out in terms of colour, likely due to youtube's compression.
They both function well, but I find the high framerate camera suits your videos much better and I'm always pleased to see the 1080p50/1080p60 option.
Looking forward to seeing you this evening in Charlotte, NC
6:22 immediately reminded me of Sabbath Vol. 4
You should both do a DIY Guitar challenge video, would be Epic :P
Shellvin Shelley They both did a modding challenge a while back but neither of them did the actual work on that one. I'm not sure either of them are too skilled in that way.
Shellvin Shelley all the yes
ah yeah forgot about that video, would be cool to see them paint their own and stuffs though, can make an awesome axe for such a small price too
Shellvin Shelley Chappers would go with JH EMG's as he loves the tonal response from them :D
TheGamer
You guys should indicate the time where each pedal is starting to be tested, I´ve been backwards and forwards for quite some time now.
You guys are great, and keep it up!
The Unimos sounds killer, the Cot sounded great with the vibe
That UNIMOS sounded stellar.
I like the look of the high frame rate camera. It looks really professional and like HD TV. But audio quality is the most important thing obviously.
One little tip about vibe pedals guys: Always before the drive, not after. After it, you get those weird piercing washy highs, whereas before drive you get that cool throbbing distortion (that sounds dirty). As a rule, whatever is the last in your chain will be the most dominating effect, tonally, for better or worse.
What are you ON about! I must say I bloody loved the Beardsman. SUPER cool sounding pedal in my opinion. The COT50 sounded good with the other pedals on with it, to be honest I thought I've heard better as for when it was on it's own. Great video :-)
That COT50 sounds beautiful. Even better - the Tchula.
Got any challenge videos comin up ??
Desire Murgia I love the videos when they wonder round Andertons and try and buy a guitar for a fiver
Chris Turklton TURKLTON!!!!!!
Desire Murgia My favorite videos are when Lee and Rob are wondering through Anderton's
Who has two thumbs, a funny voice and doesn't give a crap?
Bob Kelso
I literally died when rob ripped off his shirt and yelled "take me" xD.
Much prefer the look and feel of the SLR over the high frame rate camera, but the videos are always great.
If I'm not mistaken you put the CoT before the VIBRONOUT which is OK but usually univibes (or clones) go before the distortion pedal and then you get the huge tones. At least for me it sounded quite thin and mushy with the distortion before the VIBRONOUT. It's not a big deal by any means but when i look for univibes to buy i tend to listen how well they do with distortion (to get that hendrix screaming leads - "Machine gun" style) so would be nice to hear it in the order of vibro first and distortion after. Other than that cool video guys, keep it up! :)
That intro though. "Hi, I'm Ron Jeremy"
I know this is sort of off topic, but are there any decent yet semi-cheap or very affordable amps you could recommend? All I have is an Optimus MPS-45 and a Roland Micro Cube.
Hard to go past a Blackstar for the money...
I'm usually not a fan of distortion pedals, but that red pedal was really cool.
Camera choice is up to you guys, but I personally up vote the high frame rate.
That beardman pedal is awesome
When captain lee asked if he has to shave his eyeballs!!😂😂
That 3rd pedal really has that Pink Floyd David Gilmour vibe!!!
-> I have an Idea for another Video if u guys want: Axe Fx 2 vs./compared to Avid Eleven Rack
Sounds great capt
Challenge: build a guitar by ordering the parts online (maybe on like warmoth or something) and set a specific price. See who has the most epic piece of musical beauty after ordering the parts+doing DIY construction
I prefer the HFR camera, I think the video greatly benefits from being in a higher framerate
COT50. Am i being special but is it just battery only and is this just a standard 9v one?
Has Andertons ever considered stocking Tokai? There are so few retailers in the UK, is there a reason for this?
Dude at 15:20 I immediatly had to think of "Miami Vice" these tones were so hooooot
Yes!!! Let's see Lee's beard!!
i prefer the regular lower framerate camera, because the 50 fps video seemed to have these little quicker bursts of movement, and playback speed, whereas the original looks consistent, from beginning to end.
The only camera related comment I can make, is that it looks like you've missed focus, try a wide angle at f8 and you should get pretty much everything in focus (looks like you have enough lighting for that)
Rob, Please don´t use the super high framerate camera, it causes all sorts of lagging on slowish computers, end youtube doesn´t allow changing the framerate without changing the overall quality (i want to be able to use 1080p for the audio quality)
Orange vid camera was the best for sure :)
GREAT JOB GUYS ! AS AWLAYS !
I quite liked the frame rate on the Orange video. This loaded quicker however.
please more 50fps videos! :) Think this is 29 frames per second, 50 is so much smoother and better! :)
It's interesting you mentioned you've been using different cameras. I thought the Memphis video you guys did looked different... warmer, if that makes sense.
HEY ROB!
could you do a review on the Hot P-rails? Its a combination between a single coil and a P 90 and i'd like to hear your opinion on those since you've been mingling with SD for quite some time now :)
Got a vibranaut because of this video
What's the chorus pedal Lee has that Chappers refers to near the end?
I'm thinking of buying a beards man just because it looks bad ass.
What was that first song or variation of song does chappers play on the ml1?
Way prefer the look of the Orange video. Way better quality and rich video.
In the same way as you seemed not to enjoy the 'Beardman' double chorus, I can't understand the attraction of the 'Vibronaut' - fat and juicy?! I'd love to play around with the chorus, and try to get all sorts of weird and wonderful sounds out of it, rather than the, in my opinion, rather pointless vibrato effect. Still, another great fun and informative vid. guys!
50fps looks brilliant mate
definitely prefer the high frame rate footage :)
wow great pedals .
So which chorus pedal does The Captain have?
lee love lace...has got it goin on!
Now i want the cot 50
Did that guy inherit Anderton’s? What’s the deal?
Definitely stick with the high FPS! It looks so much better and it's easier to see what you're playing.
Vibes, phasers sound so much better BEFORE drive and distortion.
Out of interest would CoT50 work on bass, and if not, does someone make something similar for bass? It'd be great to have a simple-solution pedal for go-to sound when constantly gigging with different amps. (And not my lovely Marshall MB stack)
I like the high frame rate one better, it's just different.
If you could only have 3 pedals to sound like Jimi Hendrix, what would those be?
A fuzz, a wah, stop
Thegabrix99 yeah but which kind of fuzz/wah?
your tastes
Thegabrix99 meh, fair enough
Damire Thneedonado I find that running a Fuzz Face style pedal into a light overdrive or slightly crunchy amp and messing with the guitar's volume pretty much brings me into Hendrix territory.
What song is he playing at 8:08? It's epic and I want to learn it
Gibson video with high frame rate DSLR definitely looks way better ! - This video kind of looks a bit "grainy" perhaps a bit out of focus ? Like it was shoot with at 2007 camera phone ;-) I suspect the difference in quality has little to do with frame rate and more with image quality though. Notice how easily you can read “JCM800” in the Gibson video, in this it's quite blurry. I'm comparing the 1080p versions just to be clear.
ROB, WE WANT THE BANDIT BACK!!!
I think the camera on the Gibson video looked a bit clearer and crisp than on this one :) also it's made it look as if you're on sitting on the opposite side to usual... very strange...
Catch 'em all, actually
you asked about the cameras used. I like the image form the recent gibson ES335 video better than the image in this one. hope that helps.
Yeah... don't do high frame rate. 24 or 30 fps is perfectly fine. What you want are good optics (lenses) and high bitrate digital encoding.
Which chorus pedal are they refering to at the end?
I think they're talking about an EWS modded Arion SCH-Z chorus pedal.
Tyson McCauley Thanks alot
Anyone know if the cot50 would work ok with EMG's? using an 81 and 2 SA's
Sure will. It's just a standard boost pedal, a very good one mind you.
High frame rate cameras look so much better
The HFR shot video looked clearer, this one seems slightly blurry for some reason.
Lovepedal Pickle Vibe micro one knob pedal. You're welcome.
16:22 O Dharma by POND
Hey guys your Dslr footage looks better than your hi frame rate camera. Higher frame rates make your footage look more video y
And the contrast is a bit nasty.
Stick to 25p and the best glass you can get is my mantra.
These guys both took a COT 50 home after this shoot...
Hey Rob, I hope you know. but there is this one tone that comes through this video. Kinda annoying, but I'll manage, just a heads up for future videos :)
Please keep using the high frame rate camera.
UGH!!! I just heard that chorus flangy sound... It's that sound the sound from the intro of Black Hole Sun!!!! If only i had the money!!!!!
The best chorus pedal ever isn't a chorus pedal, it's the Boss DC-2. Fact.
Fact? Or a clearly obvious personal opinion which you so strongly believe in?
unicornmatt Haven't tried that, but I really love the chorus (detune) setting on my PS-6.
Bapalapa30 You've taken your literal pills today! :)
Matouš Vokál I like detune too. I used to use it all the time on an old Zoom.
i prefer the high frame rate handycam
2nd!!...YESSSS!
The DSLR/standard FPS looks much better in my opinion.
Its a majic box!!!
Man the Unimos sounds sooooo sexy, wish they also had tone city prices :'(
If they had tone city prices they wouldn't sound as good as they do. Simple fact of life, friend.
what is lee's chorus pedal?
Mariano Arnaiz EWS modified Arion Stereo Chorus/Vibe
I prefer this framerate brosephs
What strat model is this ?
I think it might be lee's modded classic vibe. Or any clapton-like model
11:49 Thats what she said Captain! x)
Lordaxelius Want a little captain in you? x) haha! im on fire right now!
I prefer super high frame rate
Use the higher frame rate camera.
Am I the only one who actually liked the creamy thick tone of the UNIMOS more than the COT50?
Colors from the SLR look way better.
