The James Webb Space Telescope, or JWST, is an $11 billion origins machine. It was engineered to discover the first stars that sparked the cosmic dawn and exoplanets that may harbor alien life. Let's find out what this machine is capable of. I hope you enjoy this one, I enjoyed making it. Thanks for watching.

Thanks! This is outstanding and wonderfully relaxing. Love & appreciate your efforts. Congratulations on your new baby!!!! God bless.
thanks so much for the donation shane.
yeah!!!
Been watching your videos for a few years now. I suffer from generalized anxiety disorder and my mind often races when I try to go to sleep at the end of the day. Every night when I crawl into bed, I put on one of your videos to calm down. Your passion and interest about always learning something new brings a lot of comfort, sharing that passion with people around the world is truly remarkable. Thank you for what you do, Rich!

Congrats on the new baby!!!
Congrats! Your fam is growing!! ❤
Take care rich 🤙🏻
Eyyy a baby🤝 happy for u man🇳🇱
I am a truck driver, and over the decades I have fallen asleep to many science docs. Durring the middle of the night, after being awoken to loud audio, due to un-equal audio, I turn it down to the point of not being able to really understand what is even being said.
However, YT gave this to me on "Suggested", most likely because it had to do with astronomy. This video is a great merger of what I have been looking for to fall asleep to. This is just one person that would like you to do more of this long-form content on astronomy, quantum mechanics, or anything just space related.
Thanks for the content!
i fall asleep to documentaries all the time so i can relate. thanks for the encouragement and suggestions cs. ill be focusing more on astronomy this year so hopefully they're up your ally. i have a lot of other astronomy videos you might want to check out. have a good one
You deserve a million subs, your content is probably some of the best edited and produced on UA-cam! I learn so much from each video, keep up the good work.
Wow, thanks logan. That's really high praise
Mmm
Fax
@@LetsFindOut1 I wouldn’t say that’s high praise at all! Your videos feel like miniature documentaries better than some licensed documentaries do, and you deserve so many more subs than you have
I discovered your channel many months ago, thanks to the UA-cam algorithm. I remember telling you then that I was a professor at Julliard, where I teach acting and voice. I remember telling you that you had one of the finest voices that I had ever heard. I remember telling you that I had many voice acting students who studied and practiced for years to achieve that which comes so naturally and effortlessly for you. All of those comments are still absolutely true. But what I failed to mention in that comment, was that it may have been your voice that brought me to your channel, but it was your content that kept me here. Tonight’s video is the perfect example. I am only part way into it and I can already tell you that this is your masterpiece. Thank you for creating these beautiful and enlightening and inspiring works of art.
Edit: I think one of the signs of a truly great documentary is that it holds up to multiple viewings. And that is absolutely the case here. Each and every time I watch/listen to this documentary I always find something new: some observation that I missed before, some concept that I didn’t quite understand before, etc. This is a masterpiece that keeps on giving and giving.
Thats incredibly encouraging. Thanks for taking the time to comment Charles. It means alot to hear such positive feedback on both the content and presentation. I often have to record in the mornings before my back and neck tense up and make my voice tight, so that's really good to hear that it doesn't come through alot.
Honored you watch the channel Charles. Best to you
Agreed! Come for the voice, stay for the learning! 😊🌌🎙🌠🎧📚👩🎓
This is absolutely masterful. I'm just under an hour in, and what I've learned already is incredible. I'm a space fan, always have been, and can say that your knowledge and research are beyond reproach.
You have an excellent ASMR voice too. And I can see I'll be fighting that battle between relaxing and enjoying it and focusing on the information you're providing until I've completed this masterpiece.
Thank you so much for this. It is truly unique and clearly a labor of love.
thanks treehouse. glad you're enjoying so much. always great to hear
😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
I found your channel shortly after you uploaded your previous video, around one month ago. Since then I watched all of your space related videos and I was afraid you wouldn't make another - but here we are! Thank you so much for this!
awesome to hear youre enjoying the astronomy vids. thanks for the support acht :)
2:48:18 damn man, you’re gonna make me cry!
seriously, I’d say that ‘accumulating knowledge to better understand the universe and your place in it’ is a wonderful, wonderful thing.
learning how the tenets of one discipline matches another, which complements another, until you have dozens of spinning pieces that mesh together and form… an understanding of the universe that is uniquely yours!
really glad someone appreciates that sentiment. thanks for the comment man
I’ve been patiently waiting for the GOATs return. Finally :) Cheers Rich, wishing you and the family well 🙏🏽
thanks max. same to you
Fantastic! You deserve your own TV show.
This is 6 hours long and I could not possibly be more excited!! I already know it will be amazing!
I also can't possibly imagine how long it must have taken to prepare this but thank you so much for sharing your passion with us
a tonnnn of time. i had to cut out hours of content about the history of electromagnetism and cosmology, but hopefully i can use it for another video. thanks so much for the kind comment marie :)
Honestly the work you put into this is enough for me, who has barely any interest in science to watch and actually listen. Huge props for snaring me in and keeping my attention :)
nice! i consider that a huge badge of honor.
It's ironic that you uploaded today because for the past few days I've been obsessed with watching astronomy documentaries and I was recently laid off from my seasonal usps job. So I have some time now catching up with astronomy videos including yours. Good to hear from you and I'm glad you posted. 👍
sorry if it was an unexpected termination sb. good to hear from you too though and glad the topic lined up so nicely. take care friend
Oh yes!! Sooo excited to watch later tonight! ..and 6 hrs?? This must have taken an absurd amount of time and effort to create for us 🌌🙌
Well done and thank you!! 🖤
💯
an absurdddd amount of time val. thanks so much for giving it a shot though. hope you like it :)
@@LetsFindOut1 Oh absolutely 😊 your documentaries are so engaging and calming, but I fall asleep before I can finish them! So now I download them and listen during my hikes. Always much appreciated 👍
This is amazing, thanks for the long video 🔭
Give this man an Oscar
can't even describe how insane it is that this is just one of your many, many MULTI HOUR asmr essays/topical deep dives. proud of your ability to keep knocking it out of the park this hard. thanks for all the content. you're the man.
really glad you like it graeme. appreciate the huge support
I know these videos must take a very long time to make but I’m so thankful that you do!! They are amazing and super informative. I have been obsessed with Webb since these photos came out and I couldn’t wait to hear your take! The star nursery photos were life changing!
thanks for the kind words. hope you enjoyed the presentation ftb
5 frickin hours of edition, montage, sound, resources and script. Bravo, just bravo 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
thanks
Clearing my schedule for the day! Thanks for this journey, Rich, looks like another masterpiece. ✨
hope you enjoyed it. thanks v
Wow…I am blown away. Thanking the the UA-cam algorithm gods for bringing you to my feed. I am obsessed with ASMR and also obsessed with space, but particularly JWST. I can’t even believe this video exists combining both! 💗 the universe quite literally gave me what I didn’t know I needed until now. How bout that? This is incredible. Thank you so much! *IMMEDIATELY SUBSCRIBES*
wow yt really came through then lol. so glad you're enjoying the video and thanks for the sub and kind words brittany. best to you
This came out at a perfect time! My Dad passed away last night and I don't know how I'm going to cope.
I love you Dad!
i'm sorry to hear that. my condolences to you and your family.

Your videos are amazing! I fall asleep so quicky listening to you.
I love your videos. Thank you so much for all the effort 👌 . It's definitely one of my favorite asmr channels
@dfrnck im sorry for only now replying. i never saw this for some reason. thanks for the support :)
You're my favorite ASMR channel, I can't tell you how much joy it gives me when I've seen you've uploaded!
wow thanks joe
This video is legit a work of art 🔮
aw thanks ra
Rich, you don't know me, I'm just words on a screen, but I wanted to let you know that your work is appreciated and impactful. Before I found your channel I struggled to fall asleep. My mind would just race thinking of literally anything and everything and I'd toss and turn for at least an hour every night. I tried other ASMR audio/videos to fall asleep to, but they are for the most part either females making vapid videos to get male clicks, or at the very least just not interesting. Not only is your content incredibly interesting (to me), you also have a great voice for it, not to mention is really shows that you put a lot of research into the content. Big big thanks for all you do.
💯
that means alot neal, thanks. i appreciate all the love. so glad i could help. i know its a struggle for so many to sleep. ive recently learned that getting even just 5-10 minutes of morning sunlight within two hours after waking resets your circadian rhythm and helps you get drowsy at night. and just generally getting some quality outdoor time greatly helps sleep too if you're able to. thanks again for the kind comment
dude!!!!!!! u are the reason why i love learning!!!!!! keep doing what you're doing man 🙌
More of this!!! I can't tell you how many times I've watched this, but its in the double digits now.
A 5/6hr video! We're being pampered! Thank you Rich! 😌🙏
thanks for the comment rita. hope you've been good
@@LetsFindOut1 been a bit down recently... But your videos always help me relax and change ideas, cheers friend 🙏
@@ritacaldasdasilva5474 that sucks sorry. so glad i could help in some small way though
Glad to see another upload. Love what Webb Telescope has done for us and what it will do in the future.
Also love the background music.
glad i made it to the finish line on this one. it was a beast. i'm so excited for future discoveries too. thanks, the intro music was inspired by that band the neighborhood's "stuck with me" if you're into it
@@LetsFindOut1 its really catchy I like it, great taste for background musics. my favorite is still aphex twin #3.
has your bookshelf(ves) expanded recently??? i see three(?) new piles in the beginning!
super stoked to watch this video, thank you so much for the quality content so far, will post another comment when i finally get around to finishing this one over the next few weeks haha. :) take care of yourself man, love your work.
those are mostly just displaced from remodeling the new nursery. but its always expanding. wayyyyy faster than i read them. i need to slow down lol. thanks for kind words man. best to you as well
I'm baffled that you don't have a million subs by now. Thanks for another brilliant video. 👏
Thanks for the love Elizabeth. i think if i did havea million subs the ratio of super kind comments like this to nasty ones might sting a bit. we'll see if i ever get there
The video we didn’t know we knew we needed
Thanks for the video. Awesome as always
Between this guy and the French whisperer I'm set for life😂😊
Idk what I’d do if I hadn’t found your acc back in 2019. Thanks for all you do!
thanks pr
I have only just found your channel (the 1st video I watched being The Story Of Cosmology), and I really like the way you couple ASMR with science communication. You have got to be one of the only people I know of that actually pulls this off to perfection.
It's hard to keep people engaged and relaxed at the same time, and from various comments I have read, you have a bonus skill in helping people with various issues, which I think is really cool.
I look forward to watching your channel as I think this is going to become one of my favourites.
Thanks in advance dude!
i appreciate the encouragement lurch. thanks for the comment
Hell yeah! Been waiting for another video💪
i’ve been waiting for a new astro video for so long !! and a 6h long one at that 🎉 thank you Rich 😄
The raw unedited audio makes this feel like we’re all just sitting around a fire on a warm summer night listening to you talk in person.
i like that picture. just the vibe i'm aiming at
@@LetsFindOut1 I saw you said you have a baby on the way, congrats. I’m not gonna push you for new content because I know you’re in for a whole handful, but I can’t wait for your next video to come out
I was so excited for the Webb and it's story. I followed it every day and kept up with it as much as I could and still try to. Remarkable effort by so many people.
Also.. dang a lot of work done in this video!
i honestly hadn't followed it much at all and was so surprised at how big of a mission it was. such a remarkable effort by nasa and all the people involved. and i'm glad you enjoy the edits sc :)
Space terrified me as a child. I didn’t care to think about it or what it was. Looking back I realize it wasn’t the unknown that frighten me so. It was the loneliness I felt staring out into the stars that I feared. With all that our species has learned I realize life waits out there somewhere for us to find. Perhaps the chance of meeting alien life during my lifetime is low but that’s okay because I am comforted by the idea we aren’t alone. Now that loneliness is turned to curiosity and I can’t wait to learn more.
Love your space themed philosophical videos, thanks for another great one!
Glad you like them dk, thanks for the love
This is my favorite video you’ve ever done, and quite possibly my favorite ASMR video, period. I’m a huge nerd for stuff like this, and there is nothing more relaxing then cruising through the stars. Thank you for all your hard work putting this together!
Wow, thanks kronux. I tried my best to make this one interesting so that means a lot to hear.
Thank you for making this content approachable. I came for the relaxing voice, I stayed for the fascinating lessons.
Yay a new video!!!!!!! I looooovvvvveeeee your videos!!! I was wondering when you would upload again so when I got the notification you uploaded a new video I cheered lol like THANK GOD. Oh and this is almost 6 hours?! HELLL YES
lol thanks for the huge love krystal
I’m so happy you’re uploading again 🥺
Chill moments when you interact face to face with the viewer:)
So happy when I saw this pop up on my recommendations
I use your videos to fall asleep all the time, but end up learning something new every single time lol
Huge appreciation for this video, dude. Loads of effort and time clearly went into sorting it - and it’s really interesting! I’ve been listening to it during my commute to and from work today. Still got loads more to watch, too. 🌙 ✨
thanks so much for the praise tom. really glad you're enjoying it
Every time I see the alert for your new video I get instantly excited, knowing I will have the best night ever. Your space videos are my favorite, that is how i found your channel. I am really blown away by the quality of your videos, I appreciate how much time you invest in making them and how passionate are you about the subjects, no matter what they are. Thank you very much for everything you do, thank you for helping me and probably many others dealing with anxieties and stress of every day life just by listening to you. Your channel is simply my safe space. I feel home here. Thank you.
thanks sweety. i really do wear my passions on my sleeve, so when i get warm feedback like yours, its really encouraging. means alot that you and others connect with what i enjoy and how i present it. thanks and i hope its a steady upward trend of progress in your life. i have to remind myself that the right perspective is to remember the importance of taking one step at a time, even if it's just one more than yesterday. best to yoy

Been aware of Webb since 2017. Was in awe at all the science and design that went into it. Xmas 2021, I was full of childlike excitement. Thanks for putting this one out there Rich 😊

Wholy crap over 5 hours! That is crazy, you are too good to us. Hell, I would have not been mad if this was split into 5 or even 10 parts with an ad in the beginning.

Six hours worth of amazing content! How will I absorb it all when I doze off ten minutes into every video you make, Rich? Super excited! Thank you for putting in so much effort. I've closely followed this channel for five years now and it's still my most comforting place online.
thats a win in my book e. glad you can find some consolation in the videos. i got that same feeling from sagan and jacob bronowski and james burke, so its an honor to be in the same company
Wow this great love how you went in depth about this new telescope I didn’t know much other than it’s new, I’m glad to see a community that loves space as much as I do, keep it up

Wow, very crispy video, James Webb is 10/10 - it really is something how much time, ingenuity and lifetimes worth of careers went into this telescope. And your dedication to this leviathan of a video you’ve crafted is stunning too! thanks again, for sharing so much knowledge (and sleep)

Yesssss I've missed you and your spacey stuff
Dude love your videos, awsome job. But I gotta say sometimes the sheer size of the universe and all of its laws and incredible characteristics just make my brain melt. Like how they say it's hard to imagine something that is never ending because we are not infinite. Happened to me during this video haha, could feel my brain overheating. Still super cool and I always enjoy taking time of the day to sit and think about the place we have in the universe. Thank you!
Beautifully done sir. Thank you. I didn't know excitement could be expressed so calmly. Fantastic content.
Glad you enjoyed it bobby. thanks for the praise
thank you soo much for this the length is amazing and topic is on point great work sir

Great video! Incidentally, it must be a strange and powerful feeling to wonder where we came from, why we're here, and what happens when we die. I can assure you, it's very comforting already knowing the answers to those questions...
Hi Rich. I enjoy your content. Especially the sciencey stuff I have heard, like this one. Helps me learn cool things while I fall asleep, and during the night, and even when I wake in the morning. Keep the good work.
