I have owned and raced a few 990's they just a dirtbike on steriods. I think they are the best offroad bike that is road worthy if needed. I also own a BMW GSA but that is more of a street bike that is capable of going offroad. My 990 is very similar built to this one and is a beast off-road (and on for that matter just depends on the rider skill level and how far you want to twist that right and). With Mods im about 125 HP and without any real electronics (disassembled TC and ABS) its just a raw power feel that once you have tamed cant be matched offroad. I will saw that for highway speeds the wind is a bare but it wasnt meant for that, thats what I have the GSA for. I would take this guys review with a grain of salt but if you ever get the chance to really ride one of these, i'm sure youll be looking to add one to you stable
The 990 also has the fuel weight nice and low, they came with twin low tanks for that reason, they don't bulge out at the bottom like the 790/890s, which just took the same idea even further.
This guy is clueless owner myself. Ride it how it should be ridden awesome bike one of KTM best.
I have a Rally inspired modified 990R. Had a 790R and actually prefer the 990R. Its just works so well offload, especially if you ride hard. Just did a 500km rough trail ride in Australia with a smile ear to ear. Its a more character filled bike than a 790 and handles far better offroad than an 1190R. They have legend status in OZ
I ride the 990 baja and i don't find it top heavy at all. Absolutely love the beast. To bad you couldn't have took it off road. Fun review none the less.
He said that he has taken it off road and it was an absolute beast (or something like that). In a good way by the sounds of it but yes it would be nice if this review went off road.

Tom has ridden it off road and loved it, as he said in the review. Watch this space, the plan if to do a off road review in the summer

Lemme get this straight your telling me what gear to ride in?? I'm lost as to what the hell this video is even about :/ rides around on a rally bike that is much to tall for such a short inseam and no off road riding and complains the whole time with a retro poser helmet and I am somehow supposed to use this how???
