For those confused. There was a song that was playing throughout the video. They removed the song so you can better hear the audio and reuploaded it. ❤ your editors. Mad max going hard on the ff7 content is always a treat.
I had a feeling that was the reason why he reuploaded this video. Max was like, "Listen to that music, and see how well they blend together!" or something, and I was like, "Uhhh, Max... All I hear is the music you're playing."
What’s crazy is that Cody Christian doesn’t have any past connection to FF7. Cloud was new to him when he started on Remake, but he did his homework. Major props to him because he is killing it. One of the definitive performances of Cloud imo.

19:40 I think its the opposite, certain side quests force a specific character into the party, that way even if you dont want to use someone, you'll get some time with them at some point. If you look at the TGS footage for the flower collecting side quest, Cloud approaches the counter, Tifa and Barret are right behind him as they are in the active party, but talking to the woman causes Aerith to jump up front and 'force' herself into the quest.
Good catch. I really hope it works that way. I don't want to have to put specific characters in the active combat party just to get extra dialogue. That is not the good kind of replay value.
Yeah, and Hamaguchi was also like "Aerith is the protagonist for this quest so it's flower themed" which would further reinforce this. I don't think they'll change the entire quest because of who is in the party at a given time.
I really hope they lean into that not just because of Nibelheim, but I always had the idea that it was weird after the fallout of Shinra trying to create a reactor in Corel, they built a giant amusement park above it... almost seems like a cover up so the Gold Saucer theme always is associated with corporate hollowness with me lmao
Max finding out about stuff from Before Crisis is always fun for me, hopefully one day we can see his thoughts on the Turks and Tseng's stories if Ever Crisis does FF7 BC decent justice, would love to see that games Turks in Rebirth/Part 3 somehow if assets get made, maybe during the flashbacks since the Turks cast was in FF7 Last Order. Even Lost Number had lore use in Before Crisis. It had some neat ideas and seeing the origin of the og cast is pretty interesting. Also a big fan of FF9's Dalli Village and its theme music, i kinda see the similarities
@@andimari9194 sadly the backstory of Kalm was more explained in Before Crisis, the mobile-only game from decades ago. To avoid saying too many spoilers, Shinra screw things up and Kalm was destroyed before the events of OG FF7. So yeah, Nibbleheim is not the only place Shinra has rebuild as a coverup.
Would be SO sick if you collected these mini figures, to then be able to use them in a grid style tactics type mini game and you can build a team with your minis and just be able to have tactics style fights, or any kind of grid based turn based game with your collectibles lol. That'd be so fuckin cool.
id find it cooler, if they use them as cool little Accessoires, similar like in Star Ocean 6, where you were able to collect alot of figurines and they were all useable as unique Accessoires that gave your characters abilities, stat boosts ect. the game has a shit ton of potential for collectables to give the player alot of thigns to explore n collect to incentivize not to rush through the game, but get to see all of this great game in its full glory and explore every little corner, in order to find all those hidden things to collect, be it - Soldier/Shinra Figurines - Character Memories - Queens Blood Cards - Bestiary Entries - Housing Items for the buyable Vacation Loft in Costa Del Sol , remember that we could buy us there a loft in OG - Gifts (that coudl boost the Affection towards Characters that can help you to get your Date Partner you want) - Outfits - Weapons, Accessoires & Materia logically - Loveless Magazines &Fan Club Mails similar to CC..when theres a Sephiroth Fan Club even, why shouldnt be there also an Avalanche Fanclub .... - Music Disks again - Artworks (for maybe this time an added Gallery Mode?) - Character specific Collectables that can be used to learn Limit Breaks, like for Cloud for example Soldier Necklaces from fallen Soldier Members, for Tifa its Hidden Teachings of her Master, for Aerith it could be rare unique Flowers and so on and so forth. could for sure come up with a few more examples, but thats enough food for thought I guess ^^
To be fair, I want AAALLLLL the combat mechanics they'll give me lol. The combat in these games is absolutely incredible and I actively go out of my way to fight as much as possible. Hopefully they have a hard mode like the first also 🙏
I just wish Square would offer a simple Hard mode for their FF games, on your first play-through. Just more aggressive enemies that do more damage than on Normal difficulty. I don’t get why they always gotta get “creative” with it and do something like taking away the use of potions and stuff like that haha
@@SuperBrentendo89yeah that hard mode for the first game was an insane idea. One of the most challenging hard modes I’ve ever played. Took me forever to get passed the Hell House lol
Big shoutout to max’s editors for pumping this out after the 40 min version awesome work you guys, utilizing the game audio and more zooms and cuts looks and sounds great
The same music transition effect was very noticeable in remake chapter 13, with "fires of resistance", def one of my favorite battle tracks in the game.
I really like the NPCs in this game (even in the remake). They're just full of personality and makes them feel alive compared to some modern open-world games nowadays.
As for side quests, unfortunately it is not what Hamaguchi explained that the dialogue can change depending on the character being in the active members at that point. If it sounded like that, the interpreter mischosen how they put the word. Hamaguchi only said that many of the side quests are made to focus on a certain character of the party.
Or C++ scripting. My guess is that they composed two versions of the song and have them running simultaneously on the background. And thanks to the magic of C++, they phase in and out depending what's going on in the game.
This almost reminds me of the Mass Effect trilogy where depending on who you chose to be in your party you could get different dialogue and cutscenes. Some were cool or funny scenes, but sometimes you could get massive, game changing revelations that would greatly improve the story.
Honestly i find interesting what they can do with the towns in part 3, specially because in the original a lot of npc start talking about meteo and how they feel about it
Wait what? I was in the middle of watching the 40 min vid and then it got deleted and now we have a new one that’s 20 min. You have some quick editors dood
Lol I saw a new vid from him a few hours ago and thought, "great I'll watch it when I get home" ... only to open it up and see "uploaded 26 minutes ago" I was like 👀👀👀 tf am I a time traveler
In remake you always had your party decided for you, so dialogue was always set in stone. Makes sense if you have player choice in party members then the dialogue changes depending who youve chosen.
When remake came out i thought to myself "I can't believe this is happening". And then it blew me away. Now that i'm seeing rebirth in action i'm thinking to myself "i can't believe this is happening". I'll definitely be replaying remake (a completionist run for sure) before February...
10:45 I am probably the only person that remembers this game, but I hope these PLAY ARTS action figures come packaged like the action figures in Brave Fencer Musashi for PSone. They were modelled after action figures you find in real stores. It was really cool and made collecting them more fun. You also had the choice to keep them in the package, or take them out which would allow you to play with them (in a game way, having unique actions for each figure). Side note: seeing Red on a Chocobo is kinda hilarious
You sir are a man of great culture for remembering Brave Fencer Musashi. I try my best to play that game at least once a year. Though to be fair I've never tried to collect all the action figures in BFM lol.
Looking forward to seeing where they go with the story. Remake made it seem like there's going to be some major changes but then several articles came out saying part 3 will link up to Advent Children which honestly leaves me confused? If everything stays the same at this point that's fine but it would make no sense with what we've seen in remake. Maybe it'll be slight changes that doesn't interfere with what took place in Advent Children's horrible story
Ya in articles they said the story as whole won’t have much changes. Yes they have said part 3 will lead to advent children. So the changes will be minor.
At this point, I feel like the changes are in place almost solely to get Zack involved with things and allow him to be playable. When you think about it, Zack is the only character whose popularity significantly shifted due to the Compilation. People’s feelings on the main cast, Sephiroth, etc have pretty much remained the same since OG, even Vincent who had a game made about him because he was already a fan favorite. However, Zack has become insanely popular ever since Crisis Core’s release. I think they viewed it as a missed opportunity to not get him involved somehow, and this alternate reality What-If? scenario is (so far) an intriguing way to do that while also allowing the original story to pretty much still happen.
"link up to Advent Children" isn't explained much but it'll probably clarify what people suspect: the Sephiroth that's appeared through Remake is a Post-AC Sephiroth, given that he refers to himself by different pronouns (in Japanese, "ore" was before his breakdown and "watashi" is after his breakdown, he refers to himself with "ore"), and doesn't express an interest in absorbing the life of the planet to sail the cosmos like Jenova did. But yeah AC is a horrible story. It makes no sense for the party to be okay with afflicting people with Geostigma and relying on fossil fuels/oil over mako; that's stupid.
lol I was writing this in the version of the video that didn't have the right audio and AC cloud was mentioned... The characterization of cloud in advent children actually made sense as far as natural progression of characters go, with respect to the contents of OG FF7 and just the general premise of AC. Was it what fans wanted for him or even the best path to go from a writing perspective? probably not. but it definitely wasn't an arbitrary setback change in character for the sake of the movie having room for cloud to grow as people often say. The general gist is the biggest thing post nibel pre life stream cloud got was unearned confidence. which lets cloud be this cocky guy at the start of the game. then become more humble but confident while going on his journey. then having a mental reset and essentially knowing he doesn't have the right to that confidence. People feel he earned the confidence back by the end of FF7 and as such is what we should have seen in AC. And it his fair to say that he earned it back, but doesn't mean he has taken it back. Cloud's character wasn't so simple in FF7 so there's no reason he would follow that in AC. Cloud gets back his memory but isn't given any downtime (not counting time to race chocobos). He is still a "military trained" individual and he resolves himself to take out Sephirot. And so he does with the help of his comrades. When that's done, a meteor hits Gaia/the planet anyways, we get an ambiguous ending and eventually find out they survived and are now living in a world infected by a disease that came with this meteor. So why does sad Cloud make sense? keep in mind I see him as just "emo", not an edgelord. He's basically someone who didn't have the healthiest mindset come home from battle and finally has time to reflect. If you know anyone with self esteem issues, you'll nkow that getting a win won't suddenly change their out look on themselves. Cloud's this guy who now nkows he's indirectly responsible for his friends death. He couldn't save the world well enough to save it from disease. The win he had, he probably contributes to group effort. The life goal he setup for himself doesn't apply anymore, he might have the girl which was probably his biggest motivator but it doesn't mean the dudes gonna be satisfied without some sort of direction in life. He has lots of reasons to be "emo", and more so when you consider he is a character written by Japanese writers. Writers brought up within cultures that emphasize responsibility, duty to elders/superiors, perfection, etc harder than many other places.
There's also the fact that Cloud is clearly dealing with depression in AC caused by the events of og ff7 & its aftermath. He also in the mindset he has to deal with it ALONE, when he has all these people who care a lot about him & want to help him go through those feelings, which they do during the plot, which is part of the movie's themes of family. Heck, the ending of AC is him realizing he has this support system & for the first time since og 7, he smiles. THERE'S A REASON THE SONG IN THAT SCENE IS CALLED "CLOUD SMILES." He's back 100% for the first time since the nebelheim incident. He can finally move on. He's home in his mind & heart again. He's complete again. The little short they have of cloud doing deliveries after the events of AC, he's very jovial & cracks jokes in a snarky way, most involving barret being the last delivery & barret giving him an "open & close" flipping sign as payment, which he tells tifa to use the next day after getting home, so he can have a day with her & the kids, iirc.
The disease didn't come with the meteor; the disease is literally the Lifestream attacking tainted Jenova cells within people, and the corrupted Lifestream was brought to the surface by Aerith in the end of 7 and touched people in the area, infecting them. AC destroyed the intended ambiguity of whether Holy judged humanity as Bugenhagen speculated, just to say that Holy didn't judge humanity as bad for the planet, but Aerith gave people an autoimmune disorder. Then additional material says she was struggling to stop Sephiroth from spreading the stigma/corruption, but inexplicably she can fix the same Geostigma by popping off a Limit Break from beyond the grave and instantly heals Cloud and Rufus and other afflicted people. If she could Great Gospel from the grave, why she didn't do that earlier in the movie or even before the movie? She really had to wait until people died from this disease, and Cloud went through a whole depression arc and fought in her church? Ok.
@@ultimamage3 lol I wanted to write my post without taking the contents of AC into account. Just keep the general premise that the world has a new disease going around post meteor. The idea is if everyone survived and we didn't actually have the compilation of FF7, would sad Cloud make sense. I think so.
They never said sidequests will changed based on your party members. What they clearly meant was that sidequests will automatically focus on certain characters, regardless of whether they're in your battle party or not.
Its logically that they made this, that dialogues are different, because the quests will be used for the invisible Affection System that will later decide over it, which Character will become your Date in the Gold Saucer. Each Quest will give likely each participating Character some kind of Affectino Points, and if the "right" intended characters partake, they get some extra Bonus points and dialogue, that you wouldnt have gotten if the right characters are not part of the Quest, like Red XIII for thee sheep Guarding, Aerith for the Flower Collection ect.
Regarding the amount of content to do and given the fact, it was only a demo of 30 minutes that showed most of the time alot of other things and wast concentrated only focused on Point of Interest Content. its I guess save to say and assume, that Rebirth will absolutely be full of POIs in the whole map, and with absolute full, I mean disgustingly MUCH, the kind of niveau much, that puts games like Horizon Zero Dawn/Forbidden West, Witcher 3, Skyrim and Breath of the Wild/tears of the Kingdoms TO SHAME. I guessing there will be douzens of douzends of these "Towers" all over the place that activate for you on the map the countless POIS, which are all kinds of variosu things then, from Quests to Bounty Hunts, to Dungeons, to interestign Lore Spots, to Flashback Scenes/Memories, to Chocobo Trails, to other not yet discovered Towers, to Towns n Villages, like for example the ruins of Banora near Mideel, that were't existign in the OG, because back at that time wasnt banora even an existign thing, because CC didnt obviously exist that told us first time, that a town named Banora exists in the world ...or Modeoheim too... The potential is just that huge to pump the game full with hundreds of POIs to give the player tons of things to incentivize exploring the world and go to visit everywhere in order to get in return materias from Chadly and also gettign rid of all the fog of war and enjoy a total cleared bright n colorful world map that gets you likely an reward too, if you get it to 100% FoW clean.
@@Dracobyte I honestly cant wait to see if they bring guest composers again, FF7 Remake had some good ones my favourite being the Valkyrie fight which was composed by Keiki Kobayashi of Ace Combat fame, very fitting choice
What would be cool is after you spend the entire game getting the collectables, if you get all of them then in NG+ you can play through the game again with all the main characters as their PS1 block models, similar to how RE2: Remake had the OG PS1 RE2 skins for the main characters.
Man, that shit would be crazy. Like a minigame with all the OG style and combat with all the added Rebirth fluff. Dragon Quest XI style. People would shit themselves.
*giggles stupidly* YOU'RE Cloud, in FFVII. I remember seeing the original demo footage for the ORIGINAL game, where we saw open world mountains for the first time. Can't tell you how glad I am to see this game come to be. Even if it ends up being something other than I want, the entire process, the PURPOSE, I'm gonna share that everywhere I can. Gorgeous.
Currently watching the OG FF7 play through from 8 years ago. Have to agree. This game where the world opens up is what I’m most excited about. The third installment is going to be epic in its own right. But also. 2 disks! Can’t wait.
After seeing the little bit that we’ve seen of Rebirth so far…..I have no doubt that this is going to be my favorite game of all time. This looks absolutely incredible, and this is even an old build of the game!
There was a major strength difference between Cloud and Sephiroth in OG FF7. The game made sure you knew about. Now that Cloud is apparently already Advent Children cutting skyscrapers Cloud, I wonder what the game is going to do make us care about Sephiroth as a legitimate threat.
there was a lot of things the gang were doing that they shouldn’t have been able to do yet during the whole singularity sequence. i think it was intentional that they had the characters at their peak during that chapter not only to tease their eventual growth, but to emphasize that the singularity is not in there reality. so in short i don’t think cloud is just randomly that strong now, but rather he’s showing advent children abilities bc he’s literally fighting advent children sephiroth in a pocket space where the current restrictions of his reality don’t apply
the song transition is really impressive. I bet the game's code is running both songs at the same time, but the volume level is adjusted when a battle starts or something. Idk. really neat.
Okay, I really do not agree with Max's take on Cloud for AC (which I think got cut from this vid from the original vid). I do get that it's different from the end of VII and how Cloud acts there, but looking at what all happened to lead into AC, it's totally understandable. Cloud suddenly regained all of his memories of his best friend and mom dying, another close friend dies with him unable to save her, and he's been trying to find a cure for a disease for his adopted son that he's had no luck with, and then HE'S the one that gets infected too. It was the straw that broke his back, so yeah, he got massively hopeless and depressed over everything that had happened to him in the past 2 years, and being helpless to solve the problems he and everyone else has. And like Max pointed out, Cloud is 16 at heart in VII, so in AC he's only 18 at heart. An 18 year old in a 23 year old body with a shitton of trauma and guilt, and hasn't had the guidance he's needed for most of his life. He finally does get that at the end of the film, and he does get to show hints of him being himself again in DC and Dissidia NT, but yeah, it does suck we only get hints and not a full showing of how he is after the movie. He does get through his depression, but it takes a reasonable effort and his new support system along with the crises being averted for him to get there. Idk, I get Max's love for VII, but that just did not sit right with me.
I don't necessarly disagree with the idea of your argument, but I don't think there is enough to time to recontextualize all that information and write a convincing character arc that makes sense for the character in 2hour movie, and the writing is not strong enough to sell it. And that is where the movie fails, the execution. You absolutely can make a character goes through peaks and valleys, but what have in the end of FFVII original is a character that came to terms with Aerith's death, understood his own trauma and came to understand himself, gave a beautiful speech about how all the party members could leave if wanted to to spend whatever time they had left doing what they wanted to do. And he even said that what he was doing was not to save the world, but something he had to to for himself. What AC gaves is a regression in character favour of depression arc that did not feel that fleshed out, and ended the movie in kinda the same note he did in the original game, even though we already got a incredible character arc in the original game.
Part of the problem is on the fanbase. AC retroactively changed who Cloud was in 7. Instead of being a dork, he became edgy and going forward imitations of him missed the point of his original character. Its not exactly the same, but its similar to how Genesis made Sephiroth look much less intimidating.
AC Cloud is what characterized Cloud in all media for the last almost two decades. It wasn't until the remake itself that finally brought Cloud back to his original characterization. This holds true for most of the cast especially Aerith who lost her spunkiness and turned into an innocent pure maiden type.
So the expansion of the collectable minitures feature is something that was added in the New Threat mod. Given that a large part of New Threat is fixing or adding things that felt missing from Vanilla VII, I wonder how much overlap there will be in terms of what Rebirth adds to the game
3:47 it's the similar situation with Monster Hunter World on consoles - there are a lot of pop-ins and other technical issues but you stop noticing all that stuff because the gameplay is so engaging.
I am so glad there seems to be recent pushes by both Square and Sony to have their exclusives put on PC faster than before because wow do I want to play this (and FFXVI for that matter) immediately.
Playing the first game for the first time, the music has super smooth transitions in the first game as well, though not all the time, but more times than not.
The way they make the world feels so alive... it's soooo good! AND it should have been the norm for open worlds in the current generation, it's a shame it isn't. I've been waiting for games like this since Red Dead 2, and untill now, only a few could do it.
Followed since this dude gave me the best content on rebirth... for once my UA-cam algorithm gets a W... love his passion for FF7 and you can tell he has played the OG
I’m really torn between watching these videos or not. I want to see, but I don’t at the same time. I’ve been sold on this since I played the first one. Hell, I’ve been sold on this since 1997! It’s a dream come true
I am surprised Max didn't have anything to say about Red XIII riding a chocobo. I thought it was pretty silly as he was hopping up onto the saddle, but seeing him actually ride it and hold on to the reigns was a bit odd if you ask me. Seeing the sizes of these maps though makes me really happy. Before we saw the first footage i really though Rebirth was going to be more corridors. So glad to see some large open spaces to explore.
Max talked about having all these abilities in the first 10 minutes. Does he know that or is he just speculating based on this footage? I took this a vertical slice where abilities were pre-unlocked and characters pre-leveled so they could show off late game combat but only early game zones. A unique vertical slice.
I believe he‘s saying that because (in the original game) this is the very first area you go to once you exit Midgar. And… well… this game takes place right after the crew left Midgar
I know it would never happen, but if Square ever released model kits of the machine enemies that appear in FF7, I would be just over the moon. I'd settle for figures, but man, model kits are just twice the fun
I'm happy to see little things I love in other Square Enix's RPGs which I played recently implemented here, like the music versions changing seamlessly between world exploring and fighting enemies like in the NieR seires or the importance of having certain characters in your party for certain quests/dialogue like Chrono Cross. Thanks for sharing this and your thoughts! Real hype~
Don't worry max when I was a kid I thought the 1/35 was 1 out of 35 but when I got older I found out it was the scaling. Like the g.i. Joe toys we'd get as kids
Obviously it's the most important one in the trilogy because of Aerith's fate, since the developers said it would end in the Forgotten Capital. Can't wait for February!
Funny that the first play arts you get is the "sweeper" since there were rumores with the "super sweeper" in og. If you collect it the 1/35 soldier and masamune you could get Zack revived or something
Rebirth needs to stick the landing for setting up everything for both gameplay and story for the Remake trilogy. It needs to both follow up on Remake's extremely "WTF is going on?" ending in a way that makes the new story make sense but also set up everything that leads to the OG FF7's endgame without feeling like we've seen this before.
They say you can go back and do side stuff at any point in the game. How does Aerith side stuff work after the temple of the ancients? Does she just magically appear back in your party again for it?
Guessing here, but I'd assume there is a point of not return (with a prompt) prior to the temple of.the ancients. Very much like when you begin to scale the plate in Remake. Once you enter temple of the ancients your are rail roaded to the end of the game, including travel to bone village and city of the ancients.
In my mind FF7 is the most important one because I only ever played through midgar. As a kid I was stupid and sucked and didn't know what to do outside midgar so I just kept restarting the game to try to do it faster and faster. I never got to the end of the disc 1 until years later when I tried playing again. Then as an adult I played the whole game, but remake has an expanded version of what I saw the original FF7 as. Pretty cool. Obviously I am the minority but I like that tidbit
About the 1/35 Soldiers. I used to think it was 1/35 too but what it really means is a 1:35 to scale Soldier model/toy. Edit: I paused before you realised lol, never mind you realised what it meant lol Also I bet you can view them in a menu somewhere.
The thing I was missing about the collectibles was you couldn’t display them anywhere! I really wish you could decorate your costa del sol house with it, Theres a reason to actually buy the damn thing
Seeing Red XIII ride a chocobo is something I was ready for but I'm here for it. Though he'd run aside the party the same way Torgal did w Clive in FFXVI.
I hope that there will still be synth versions of many of the songs. The original used a lot of synth and Remake had some, but not enough imo. I want more like Midnight Rendezvous.
Hollow Knight was the first game I've experience with transitional world to battle themes. I'm sure there were other games that did it too and it's just a nice touch that SquEnix is implementing it as well. Also 1/35 Soldiers refers to scale, not the number of them you have to collect.
Back in 1997 (damn good year for gaming) there was this PC game called Lords of Magic by Sierra. The combat music in that game was a set of about 15 short .wav files that would dynamically switch between each other depending on your army's (dis)advantages on the battlefield: When you were winning, the music let you know. When you were losing, the music told you so. Aaand I think that was the first instance of transitional music in a video game that I had ever heard... It certainly didn't hurt that LoM also had a killer soundtrack. If you ever find yourself with half-an-hour to spare, or have some studies that could use a bit of accompanying music or whatever, give it a listen.
I am even stocked for this because you can walk the map I will be getting the double pack on pc if it's priced accordingly because they still want £70 for the current one on steam
Hope the off party have function, for example like preventing enemy reinforcement coming in or prevent them running away, the range shoot the enemy from a far or help you run away.
If I recall basic chocobos could, at minimum, cross shallow water in VIII and traveling in land vehicles in the early parts of VIII actually used fuel, chocobo's bypassed the need for that. If I recall you did need one to reunlock the airship if you used the optional portal to return to the world after reaching Ultimecia's castle. Although it did feel like they wanted Moombas to be the more common reoccurring creatures that show up in VIII
@@nocturnalscotsman Been a while since I last played VIII, but outside of late-game content I don't remember them being used much at all. I suppose that makes sense given VIII is the most grounded entry in the series, despite its silly elements, and chocobos would feel out of place if they had a larger role.
Bruh, this game is by far my most looked forward to. I gotta stop watching videos about it so I don’t burn myself out before it even comes out. After watching the lore explanation videos that broke down what the fuck was actually happening in remake, I’m hooked. I wanna see what happens.
For those confused. There was a song that was playing throughout the video. They removed the song so you can better hear the audio and reuploaded it. ❤ your editors. Mad max going hard on the ff7 content is always a treat.
Thank you for the clarification and yeah, Max's editors are the real MVP.
I had a feeling that was the reason why he reuploaded this video. Max was like, "Listen to that music, and see how well they blend together!" or something, and I was like, "Uhhh, Max... All I hear is the music you're playing."
why was half of the video cut tho?

@@nocturnalscotsman I hope we see some of the Turks from Before Crisis (as well as Cissnei from Crisis Core), in either this game or Part 3.
Would be SO sick if you collected these mini figures, to then be able to use them in a grid style tactics type mini game and you can build a team with your minis and just be able to have tactics style fights, or any kind of grid based turn based game with your collectibles lol. That'd be so fuckin cool.
In my headcannon, Cloud likes to paint miniatures but hides that hobby because of the "cool facade" he tries to project.
id find it cooler, if they use them as cool little Accessoires, similar like in Star Ocean 6, where you were able to collect alot of figurines and they were all useable as unique Accessoires that gave your characters abilities, stat boosts ect. the game has a shit ton of potential for collectables to give the player alot of thigns to explore n collect to incentivize not to rush through the game, but get to see all of this great game in its full glory and explore every little corner, in order to find all those hidden things to collect, be it
- Soldier/Shinra Figurines
- Character Memories
- Queens Blood Cards
- Bestiary Entries
- Housing Items for the buyable Vacation Loft in Costa Del Sol , remember that we could buy us there a loft in OG
- Gifts (that coudl boost the Affection towards Characters that can help you to get your Date Partner you want)
- Outfits
- Weapons, Accessoires & Materia logically
- Loveless Magazines &Fan Club Mails similar to CC..when theres a Sephiroth Fan Club even, why shouldnt be there also an Avalanche Fanclub ....
- Music Disks again
- Artworks (for maybe this time an added Gallery Mode?)
- Character specific Collectables that can be used to learn Limit Breaks, like for Cloud for example Soldier Necklaces from fallen Soldier Members, for Tifa its Hidden Teachings of her Master, for Aerith it could be rare unique Flowers and so on and so forth.
could for sure come up with a few more examples, but thats enough food for thought I guess ^^
why not make it part of the Fort Condor Mini Game from the Yuffie DLC?
@@Coldsilfur4 wdym? havent played the DLC yet.. has the miggame some kind of rewards of that kind of type, collectables you can get from it?
Capsule Monster, FF7 Edition
Video may be shorter, but it's a lot better with the actual music from the game.
Big shoutout to max’s editors for pumping this out after the 40 min version awesome work you guys, utilizing the game audio and more zooms and cuts looks and sounds great
5:35 I love Tifa’s reaction to “Pops” 😂😂
The same music transition effect was very noticeable in remake chapter 13, with "fires of resistance", def one of my favorite battle tracks in the game.
I really like the NPCs in this game (even in the remake). They're just full of personality and makes them feel alive compared to some modern open-world games nowadays.
As for side quests, unfortunately it is not what Hamaguchi explained that the dialogue can change depending on the character being in the active members at that point. If it sounded like that, the interpreter mischosen how they put the word. Hamaguchi only said that many of the side quests are made to focus on a certain character of the party.
The battle theme transitions are MASTERCLASS in sound design. 😎
Or C++ scripting. My guess is that they composed two versions of the song and have them running simultaneously on the background. And thanks to the magic of C++, they phase in and out depending what's going on in the game.
@@js100serch Neat! I wasn't aware of the exact program they use, but makes sense.
Because he was gushing all over the music.... Which was covered by that crappy loop he uses in all his videos

Did they put in the original music from rebirth? Or was it edited from remake?
@@nachot6592 ooooh i got confused there too
In remake you always had your party decided for you, so dialogue was always set in stone.
Love it when max talks about ff7
Me too!!
@@ultimamage3 I think they will remake advent children as a game and fix all the issues you have.
lol I was writing this in the version of the video that didn't have the right audio and AC cloud was mentioned...
8:35
Max, please provide a trigger warning for all future Chadley Jumpscares. My heart will not be able to survive another one of those.
The normal to battle theme transitions is amazing on its own. Next year is gonna be nuts for remake part 2.
FF13 really perfected music adaptation in its Era, it's good to see this game and others use its ideas.
@@14megasxlrgreat considering the remake games have some of the same composers.
Yesss this. I was literally talking about this a couple of days ago. 👌
Gorgeous.
YEYEYEYE! The FF7R2 BGM audio is actually in instead of Max's usual BGM

Very interesting points you mention.
@@mgbenz and for that I appreciate both the script and the voice acting direction of the remake.
Aerith and Tifa teasing cloud when they find the chocobo is so fucking cute
So the expansion of the collectable minitures feature is something that was added in the New Threat mod. Given that a large part of New Threat is fixing or adding things that felt missing from Vanilla VII, I wonder how much overlap there will be in terms of what Rebirth adds to the game
FF7 remake also did the battle music transition well but this one feels tighter
The transition from a "Map Theme" to a "Battle Theme" version of the map theme reminds me of recent Fire Emblem games that do the same. Its so sick.
This shorter video is really good. You hear so much more of the impact in battle now.
17:23 holy shit that made me think of alexandria ff9, the square with the kids jumping rope. i want it
I thought it was 1 of 35 soldiers too because of how it's typed as [1/35] in the OG instead of the [1: 35] I'm used to.
3:47 it's the similar situation with Monster Hunter World on consoles - there are a lot of pop-ins and other technical issues but you stop noticing all that stuff because the gameplay is so engaging.
World hasn't nearly as much pop ins as this. Not even close
I am so glad there seems to be recent pushes by both Square and Sony to have their exclusives put on PC faster than before because wow do I want to play this (and FFXVI for that matter) immediately.
Dude....i cant wait to play this game. But even more than that, i cant wait to watch Max play this game!
7:37 You lost Aerith and Tifa making fun of Cloud because of chat...
Hehehehe!
Playing the first game for the first time, the music has super smooth transitions in the first game as well, though not all the time, but more times than not.
Whew! They fixed the audio! That 45 minute song-loop was no bueno. Time for some FF7 hype!
He already played the TGS demo himself, and even before that he saw and commented on the official screenshot with Red riding a blue/gliding chocobo.
Woooo got rid of the music that was playing over the video!
I was just watching this then suddenly it turned from a 40min video to a 20min one
This is looking like a stunning re imagining of a classic... we are so lucky
I'm in the same boat as Max with the 1/35 Soldier and Phoenix Down. It took me many years to learn what they actually meant.
Yey, fixed the audio complaint I had *lmao* We couldn't hear the music he was talking about!
Great job editors/Max!
Obviously it's the most important one in the trilogy because of Aerith's fate, since the developers said it would end in the Forgotten Capital. Can't wait for February!
FF15 makes things happened man, its the game where they needed to play around to have experience for future games.
I would of preferred versus 13 over ff15
Thanks editors! Was confused about Max talking about the music the whole time while it played some other song. XD
Funny that the first play arts you get is the "sweeper" since there were rumores with the "super sweeper" in og. If you collect it the 1/35 soldier and masamune you could get Zack revived or something
Hi from France, it's gonna be a huge game and incredible gameplay, thank you Max for you're react
I commented about this when the initial video game out lol. Glad Max changed his background music to the music in game! Thank you Max❤
Did you notice the pink weapons case in the background of a cut scene
This game keep looking better and better!!!
Props to the editors for managing to get the original music working in the video!
Ohhh I didn't know you could zoom out the camera, I kept getting super motion sickXD
So stoked for this game. Sadly I’m a PC player so I’ll have to wait extra long
About the 1/35 Soldiers.
I used to think it was 1/35 too but what it really means is a 1:35 to scale Soldier model/toy.
Edit: I paused before you realised lol, never mind you realised what it meant lol
Also I bet you can view them in a menu somewhere.
I feel like thats how material was viewed in the original? BUT as a ff7 fanatic I'm definitely liking this. They're getting it now.
Thanks for re uploading it with the game's music!
Thank you for uploading the video without the God-awful dubbed music that blanked out the best part of Final Fantasy - the music.
The thing I was missing about the collectibles was you couldn’t display them anywhere!
I really wish you could decorate your costa del sol house with it, Theres a reason to actually buy the damn thing
Imma play this with japanese VA and watch Max playing with english VA. Can't wait!
Seeing Red XIII ride a chocobo is something I was ready for but I'm here for it. Though he'd run aside the party the same way Torgal did w Clive in FFXVI.
Nice! Time to watch it all over again lol

@@Dracobyte was reuploaded it was a 45min vid with music over the game music
25 mins ago the og was deleted and this was added lmao
Even if the output is 1080, SE should be wrapping it in a 4k container when posting it to YT.
The more goddamn good a game looks, the easier it is to see faults and texture pop in and out
thank god they brought back all the industrial sounds in the battle theme.
Looks great with the exception of the traversal animations. Hopefully they sort it.
Final Fantasy VII Remake and XVI already had dynamic music that changed between walking and combat
it seemed like remake just did the old tradition of switching the battle music on and off, nothing to transition it seamlessly
Thank you for reuploading 🙏
And thanks for the mad editing
I am even stocked for this because you can walk the map I will be getting the double pack on pc if it's priced accordingly because they still want £70 for the current one on steam
Hope the off party have function, for example like preventing enemy reinforcement coming in or prevent them running away, the range shoot the enemy from a far or help you run away.
You can see al throughout barret shooting enemies even outside of battle. Sadly the melee characters are probably not going to do much.
I prefer natural jump over contextual jump.hopefully there would be an option to choose between the two
Can we switch the character on exploration of the world map ? Or only in combat ?
"Chocobos have a big role in every Final Fantasy..."
VIII: "Um..."
Yes max, yes i will watch this again now that you fixed audio lol
Bruh, this game is by far my most looked forward to. I gotta stop watching videos about it so I don’t burn myself out before it even comes out. After watching the lore explanation videos that broke down what the fuck was actually happening in remake, I’m hooked. I wanna see what happens.
I remember when I left Midgar the first enemy encounter is a dude on a motorcycle like they're from Hokuto no ken. I want to see this guy again LOL
Man… starting to get excited over this. Kind of feeling like a kid again. Can’t wait
