Thanks Mr Dave for showing the lap boards I think I got it now. After the spoon broke I would have made the end into a small bowl of some kind . thanks again Mr Dave for all the help and the wonderful videos. Please keep them coming. Your carving friend from Kentucky.
That is also what I do with mine. Sometimes glue the handle back on then carve the bowl and then cut the handle back off. The girls always need a new jewelry (rings, earning, etc.) bowl.
Just having some fun out in the old woodshop doing little spoon carving showing people what a lap board is And these lapboards are for my personal use every lapboard it has to be designed to fit you thank you again
Thank you Dave for showing us how you carve a spoon and your lap boards. They are very interesting. Your spoon that broke would've been beautiful, but like you said it happens and you can't cry over spilled milk. Finished my recent class and the next one isn't until September so I hope to get a bunch of projects done in the mean time. I hope you have a blessed day and will catch you on the next video. Take care and stay safe. Fellow woodcarver from Kentucky! I highly recommend if anyone gets the chance to go meet Dave at his shop or at one of the shows he does, don't pass the opportunity up, he's an awesome person to talk to.
@@GREGPARKER-hn1wu I live in the south east near Corbin. I was also wondering what part you live in. I'm a woodcarver and teach beginner carving. A few of my students and I went to Dave's shop a few weeks ago and met him and we all had a great time.
I'm in the western part near Madisonville. I only know of one other carver in my area . I would to some day meet Mr Dave. I've talked to him on the phone. Good to know other carvers from Kentucky.
